“i don’t like writing about my day, but i want to keep a journal”:
quotes and copywork. when reading, if you find something you enjoy, just copy it into the notebook. you can copy a whole chapter if you wish, highlighting what caught your attention the most.
definitions. look up on a dictionary and copy it. you could write your own dictionary as well, making up definitions for words.
lists. a classic, write movies to watch, books to read, the playlist of the month or just the groceries you have to buy.
maps. when going somewhere, you could draw the route you took or just a map of the place itself. just look up the place on google maps and copy it. you can draw a little map of all the places you have lived or the schools you have attended as well.
photos
take “notes” as you watch movies / documentaries. write down phrases that caught your attention or doodle.
illustrations and clippings. if you see an image or piece of art that you liked, put it in your journal. if it’s from a book or from a magazine I would recommend scanning it, tho’. it will serve as a record of what kind of art you enjoy through the years.
newspaper clippings from the day.
tickets and pamphlets. from movies, museums, transportation.
postcards
records. you could record for a month what the temperature was when you woke up and when you went to sleep. if you do that for a year, it gives you a better notion of the passing of seasons. you could record rainfall and other seasonal changes as well. you could choose something (an animal, a plant, an item or object) and write down every time you see it.
rubbings of leaves, coins, landmarks.
count. there’s a scene in the movie Coraline (2009) where Coraline’s dad tells her to go count the windows. you could do the same type of counting game if you are bored and write down.
mindmaps/sketchnotes + timelines of books, movies, music albums.
collages
pressed leafs and flowers
your collections. if you collect anything you could write down an inventory or maybe try to draw the items.
recipes. write down recipes and give it a score every time you try it. you could do the same for drinks you try out.
stickers
comic strips. you can find a bunch of it online, glue your favorites in your notebook.

Also a sequel about the successor of the evil Avatar. What would happen to the world's view about the avatar? How would it be dealing with the predecessor misdeeds? Will the predecessor manipulate the actual avatar to carry on the evil legacy?
There's another theory where Oma (The woman of the Omashu legend) used to be the fourth avatar.
Avatars it would be cool to see in an anthology style series:
(or getting their own series idm)
A female Northern Water Tribe Avatar (would they teach her to waterbend?)
A Southern Water Tribe Avatar (to see what the Southern Water Tribe was like before the war)
A swampbender Avatar
A combustion bender Avatar
A sun warrior Avatar
A sandbender Avatar
An Avatar from the same part of the Earth Kingdom as Jargala's family (South Asian inspired character which we didn't see in the original series plus she leads the creeping crystal triad which could mean there's a region where crystalbending is the main form of earthbending)
A hijabi Avatar
An Avatar raised by nonbenders (as in there have been no benders in their family that they can remember, whole community of nonbenders, possibly even an equalist equivalent faction)
A nomad Avatar
Other smaller cultures within each nation being shown - Avatars from these cultures (giving an opportunity to represent more cultures from Asia and possibly other places too like other Native American cultures (including South American), Middle Eastern, African or Polynesian cultures)
An Avatar with a disability
An Avatar who gets permanently injured (e.g. paralysed, blinded, loses a limb, etc)
A mentally ill Avatar (maybe autistic of with anxiety or schizophrenia - it would really help children with these conditions to see themselves as capable of achieving their dreams)
A royal Avatar
An Avatar who doesn't find out their identity until later on in life
An Avatar who struggles to bend their native element (Aang struggled to learn earthbending, Korra struggled to learn airbending, so a Fire Nation Avatar who struggles to learn firebending for example)
An evil Avatar
A homeless Avatar (probably one who grew up homeless before being discovered to be the Avatar)
An Avatar who's an identical twin (is their twin jealous? do they swap places with their twin?)
An Avatar who's parents didn't want them to be the Avatar, so took them away and didn't tell them
An Avatar who has aspirations outside of being the Avatar (being a performer or a jewelry maker or a sportsperson etc)
The Avatar after Avatar Wan (showing how the world became what it was in the original series - how the nations formed)
An Avatar who could show more about the Air Nation (what happens to their nonbenders, which temples are for women, what happens if they don't want to be monks/nuns, etc)
When one Avatar dies, the next is born immediately ish right? What if someone assassinated the Avatar at the time they or their partner was giving birth, with the intention of making their child the Avatar. What if it worked?
Please reblog and add any ideas you have!
