My art style has changed a lot since I’ve been drawing trolls for a while, but at least now I can draw them without references!

I posted these on Twitter one by one, but I was waiting to have the full collection to post them here!

I saw a lot of people draw the MLP as trolls, so I wanted to give it my own spin!

You’ll notice I didn’t just slot them in the main 6 genres, mostly because I just tried to find the genre that would fit them the most! As much as I love funk fluttershy or rarity, I don’t think their music style fits them <3

Fluttershy was the first one! I went with Classical-Metal, (although I debated for folk for quite some time) mostly because I thought that would suit her the most- and because she’s a metalhead in EG! Her hairstyle is taken from one of the outfits she used when she models for photo finish!

PinkiePie was so obviously Hyperpop I didn’t even think about it twice! The music, the colours, the style, the excessive accessories- it all fits her so well!

Applejack is country, I couldn’t take that from her. Just pure old country! I had some trouble with her hair, cause I wanted it to be big and poofy like Delta or Holly’s, but the first sketches weren’t quite right. I changed it at the last minute and I’m glad I did, because now I absolutely love it! And yes, her hat is more like a hairband, it’s missing the top- that’s where she slides the ponytail into!

Twilight was classical- I had no doubts from that, but I thought being a mix between techno and classical would fit her very well! I gave her a sort of gown-like tailfin, and her wings also work as extra fins! All in all, I wanted her to look like a mix between an angel and a jellyfish! Her hair is lighter because it!s always subtly glowing- and also because dark hair wouldn’t work for either classical (who have cotton candy shades) and techno (whose hair is always glowing)

Rarity is still a debate between Classical-Pop and Swing! I thought classical pop was great for her, especially because of her songs, but swing was SUCH a good style and genre for her! A lot of her outfits always have that vintage vibe, and her hairstyle reminded me of the headdresses they used in the 20s-30s!

Rainbowdash is PopRock, obviously. She has goggles for when she flies and her earrings are clear! The pop trolls are all brightly coloured so I kept the rainbow hair instead of using less colours, but I dimmed them so that she would blend in better with the rock theme!

And yes, all 6 of them have their elements on them! It’s just that they’re not all visible!

Twilight has it on her chest, Applejack and Rainbowdash have them on their belts! Pinkie pie has it on a hairclip, Rarity has it on a pin on her dress and fluttershy has it on her back!

New AUs (thank the gods tumblr doesn’t really have a character limit like twitter)!

So, Trolls!

Putt Putt Troll Branch & Poppy au I sketched while brainstorming with my friend!

In this au, Branch and Poppy are basically Swapped with Viva (not Clay though, as Branch is still gray)

During the escape, Branch is tasked with getting Poppy to safety and promises to protect her with his life! They get separated because of the tunnels collapsing and Branch is the one that ends up fighting off the bergens and leading the rest of the trolls to the golf course!

The rest of the trolls realise that Branch was right about being paranoid and so they turn to him for help! Branch ends up becoming the Putt Putt leader and raises Poppy as his little sister! They end up being called Prince Branch and Princess Poppy, and Branch also gains the title of guardian!

Chiffon is an oc of mine, Satin and Chenille’s mother who gets separated from them!

In this AU Viva takes Branch as her little brother when BroZone leaves, so while the brothers spend only 2 years with him, viva spends 4! From 2 to 4, and then 4 to 6! Grandma Rosiepuff dies when he’s 4, and so Branch spends 2 years gray in the troll tree before they decide to escape. Poppy’s egg is born before Branch turns 6, so they are 5 years apart, while Viva is around 12-13 when they escape!

So the ages are like this:

Branch: 2 (Brozone Breakup) 4 (Grandma’s death) 6 (Bergen escape)

Viva: 8 (Brozone Breakup) 10 (Grandma’s death) 12 (Bergen escape)

Poppy: 1 (Bergen escape)

When the Band breaks up, JD is 18, Bruce is 16, Clay is 13 and Floyd is 12!

Now, since Viva thinks of Branch as a little brother and tasks him with keeping Poppy safe, when she goes back to the tunnels and finds Branch’s hugtime bracelet, she thinks they’re both dead and blames herself- that’s why she’s half-grey!

I was drawing the Techno King and his (headcanon) younger sister and I thought this would be a nice way to introduce one of my first Trolls OCs!

The royal family! Trollex, Bliss and Laika Marina!

Laika is Trollex and Bliss’s baby brother!

(I got the name idea while watching Box Trolls…a movie made by Laika studios <3)

He’s green to stick with the RGB theme (Donald-Gladstone-Fethry/Lyney-Lynette-Freminet/Huey-Dewey-Louie) because I’m a sucker for RGB siblings!

These are the color combinations I tried before sticking to the final one! I really liked the teal eyes and warm accents, and also tried both the double striped armies and triple striped arms before settling on the triple option!

So here’s the final option and some sketches!

Would Donald and Gladstone dress up as each other for Halloween?

So I answered this last time but apparently tumblr decided to NOT work, so here we go again!

Yes, Gladstone and Donald would totally dress up as each other, mostly because Gladstone would beg Donald for the whole day- and Donald would agree because he’s a sucker for themed costumes (like the Devil/Angel costumes Della and Donald used in the DT17 series)

Donald would actually celebrate Halloween because, like Friday 13 (I’ll get on that later, I got another ask focused on that), both of their lucks cancel out, so they take that chance to celebrate without magical interferences!
