4 years ago I read and commented on your fic Agressive Negotiations and I was absolutely blown away (saved it to my favorite fics folder). In love. Thought about it from time to time, but i didn't read it again. And then yesterday, I was reading fics for a different tag, and came upon this short and interesting one. And I was like "ok, this dialogue is really good, I'll read another of this person's work". I read another one and I'm now like "damn this person can write, okayy. This is amazing, reminds of that one fic I really loved". Imagine my surprise when I scroll your works and I see that exact fic I was thinking about. 😭😭 I was literally so overjoyed. It was like finding a lost song without knowing it's name or lyrics. I literally recognized you just from your writing style (because it was so good) ❤️ Just thought I'd come and share it. Hi yes i just spent the last 4 hours reading tied on a string (indeed, general hux) and it's made me loose my mind. It's so good. Your writing is unparalleled. The pacing was perfect. I mean, with a premise like that you could have lost the plot like 4 chapters in but you didn't!! There were times I thought I knew where it was going but I didn't. I would have written it differently but that would have been disingenuous to the source material and the characters. You made something beautiful and I adore it and I adore you and - I just think you're brilliant and I will be binge reading everything else you've ever published.

Better: Vader’s respirator is perfectly capable of running silently when he’s not exerting himself, he just tunes it to make that noise for effect

Best: The noise isn’t even coming from the respirator – it’s a digital audio file being played by a speaker in his suit; one time he was trying to do the sudden-breathing-in-the-dark dramatic reveal bit and accidentally queued up the wrong file

Imagine: Hotshot actor Ben Solo always brings his ill-behaved dog Moose to set, where he usually runs amok while Ben is working. No one dares tell him to get the dog under control. PA Rey bribes Moose with a tasty treat one day, and soon enough she is the only one that can keep him in line. He starts trailing after her as she works, and the dog eventually brings the pair together.

One day, the dog hides in Rey’s car and she only notices when she’s already parked at home. She has twenty panicked messages from Ben. She calls immediately and explains the situation, though she’s baffled as to how he managed to sneak in without her noticing. The relief in his voice makes her chest ache.

He says he’ll pick up the little vagrant as soon as he finds his keys, which he misplaced during his search for the missing pup.

“If that’s okay with you?” He sounds hesitant.

(As if she would ever say no.)

“We’ll be waiting,” she says, petting Moose, who has his head on her lap.

“Great, see you both soon,” is the last thing she hears before he hangs up. Her lips curl into an involuntary grin. Seeing Ben twice in one day is a treat, made even better by the fact that she currently has a sleepy puppy to cuddle.

She snuggles up to Moose on the couch, stretching her tired back. It takes no time at all for her eyelids to drop and for sleep to overtake her.

That’s how Ben finds her, 20 minutes later, after he lets himself in through the unlocked front door — he’ll lecture her about it later.

A weaker man wouldn’t have admitted to almost being brought to his knees by the sight of a pretty girl cuddling their dog, but Ben Solo is anything but weak. His stomach turns a somersault at the sight at the same time as something within his soul settles.

It feels right.

It feels like coming home.
