My Alt’s large house at Ward8 Plot45 in Mist on Ultros!
I think this was the first yard I had used the Garden Gravel item on (the yard was finished a good while before this post/before I made this blog) but whew, really happy with how it came out. Definitely one of if not my favorite yard so far.
No longer works T_T The Loft (and so much more) Glitch
Hello! Nozomi Kei here with my first guide. This one will be covering the new popular glitch that we often see used to create a ‘loft’ of sorts with the troupe stage, but that’s really just the beginning! I know there has been at least one written guide around here by @diskwrite-ffxiv , and I don’t mean to step on any toes, I just have some other tidbits to include. Plus I want to push myself to be more helpful to the community and my friend is encouraging me to go ahead and post it since I already wrote it. I’m gonna try to keep this straightforward so if you have any questions go ahead and toss them at me publicly or in private. ^_^
What does this glitch work with?:
• Anything that doesn’t fall in the rug category of the housing storage *
Where does this glitch work?:
• On the ledges above windows, on the wall ledges, above the door, and certain parts of Oasis house pillars for sure
Tl;dr: Click parallel wall item, drag it where you want your glitch item, hit the subcommand menu key twice
Placements:
• Just above or below
• Straight doesn’t matter (usually)
• Tiny in and out variations exist
Basics
• Set a key of your choice to ‘Display Subcommands’ in your keybinds under the 'System’ tab if you haven’t yet
• Know what number your glitch item is in the 'All’ list and have at least that many items in your wall-mounted list (wanna place item #6 from 'all’? Have six items in the 'wall’ tab. #3? Have at least 3)
• Left click on the item on the 'wall’ list that matches the number of your glitch item in 'all’
• Left click on the item now halfway buried in your floor
• Move it over to where you want to place your glitch item (either just barely in the orange or purple at a ledge)
• Hit your new subcommand menu key
• Hit it again to select “Place”
• Tada! Your glitch item is now placed. It can be rotated at will.
Some extra notes!
• It’s okay to leave your
on; it doesn’t mess anything up when you move your cursor to hit okay mid-glitching.
• You need the first box,
, checked.
• You can actually place items slightly further forward and back if you are careful. When the placement arrows go horizontal on the ledge pay attention and choose what you want for some interesting item layering options.
Some things that made use of this delicate layering:
Fake bay windows night scene
Space-saving scenery window
• Initial orientation when taking something from storage almost never matters since you can just rotate afterwards. (But if you’re trying to do some finicky layering from the point above it can help to drop something from storage perfectly parallel to the wall and have your camera looking down from above when you hit 'place’) Be crooked as you like pretty much always though.
• You can give your lofts custom wallpaper! Just glitch a blank partition up and add wallpaper to it.
• Go wild with trying items out! You can come up with all sorts of crazy cool stuff. Make gangplanks, custom shelves, fancy fountains, miniature doors, raised hallways, upstairs baths.
• I can’t afford a 250k stage so I used Royal Plotting Tables at 12k each from the mb. They’re huge and cheap and fancy.
• Use this glitch to fake putting things on a ground level troupe stage! Place your cupboards and bookshelves on the wall ledge so they appear to be sitting on top of it! The room shown is my fc mate Vic Viper’s. Thank you Vic!
• This stuff only works with the existing architectural features that are not changeable/movable (so no tricking it with partition wall ledges).
• Right before maintenance I discovered another spot in Oasis residences; the corner pillars midway up have a couple slants you can rest items on! Try the glitch with all the flat and skyfacing slanted surfaces/railings/etc in your rooms and houses and see if you can find more!
* Why does this not work with rugs? Because of the automatic list sorting in the storage, rug category items will always be below any wall items one would use to do the glitch. If anyone figures out a way around this please share! I want a rug loft. TwT
I am planning to make a clear guide video soon too for those who learn better that way.
