Hi, maybe this is a weird question, but do you not like Dany? The posts of yours that I’ve seen always crack me up, but Daenerys is like the love of my life and sometimes some of the comments seem anti-Dany, and I’m just being sensitive and trying to be objective, and I was just hoping you could put my mind at ease and tell me either way so I at least *know* if I’m posting anti Dany stuff. Sorry for the trouble but thank you for your time!!

it’s been a topic of much debate whether i like dany or not and dear reader i adore her. but it is hard to do a recap of an episode where the writers have her burn an entire city alive without some of the characters criticizing that action… it’s odd that ppl keep coming at me for dany since i make jon out to be boo boo the fool and i love that boy -recent actions excluded- but oh well…

i think i was clear that my ire was directed at the writers rather than any specific character (see my varys making ridiculous assumptions post) but in the wake of all the rage posts i can understand why you may be wary 

for more info on whether or not i hate dany try my actual reviews of the episodes:

They fought so hard to sell the Mad Queen Dany storyline, they truly did. What came off as inconsistent writing earlier, manifests into straight up misogyny. Daenerys just lost her dragon and is told that her best friend is captive. Robb rode South for less. Remember Ned hadn’t been executed yet when he called the banners. Somehow, his decision was just and an appropriate response whereas Daenerys is a CrAZy tArgARyeN. God, Stannis burned his own daughter alive and people bend over backwards to call him the only true king. Daenerys recognized she had to give Cersei an out, even for the image of it all, when literally the tiniest baby in the most remote village knew Cersei was beyond reason. She’s not a terrible ruler, she’s just a bit impulsive.

I’m not necessarily angry with where characters ended up, but I take issue with how it happened. Have Daenerys burn King’s Landing to ash. I’m less cool with her being turned into the Mad Queen, but I could have stomached that too if we hadn’t had spent several seasons following her trying to do good by her people and herself. Self-interest does not a Mad Queen make. (Also to all those smarty pants going off about how she treated the slavers of Meereen who wanted to lock her and everyone who followed her in chains and the Dothraki who wanted to keep her closed off as a glorified prisoner, get some reading comprehension and stop supporting slavers and misogynistic warlords who work the slave trade).

RIP Varys, you were one of my faves until you supported taking Dany down because she was a woman (he literally just saw her be lonely at a party and decided she was unfit to rule, well guess what Varys lots of people get lonely at parties it’s adulthood’s greatest secret.)

and

I will never be over how badly the show screwed Dany over and everyone who’s followed her journey and believed in her, audience and characters alike. Bringing up her lack of tears at seeing her abusive brother melt is exactly what I’d expect from the showrunners. Her character’s descent into being a tyrant could have happened and been good. Emilia almost made it good by exceptional acting alone. I don’t think I can add more to what’s been said about Daenerys’ characterization, except to point out that if we’d gotten to the dragon wings through proper pacing I’d have screamed loud enough to be heard by GRRM. It was what the kids call metal af.
