You would be surprised to learn that some kids work 40 hours a week, sometimes without pay, while also balancing schoolwork on top of that and having to maintain a good social life over the weekends while also being expected to maintain straight 90s in class and do 2 hours of schoolwork every day afterschool

adults are always talking about how “kids will do anything to get out of school” and okay, first of all that’s not true, but I think we really need to ask why that idea holds so much sway.

children’s brains are hard-wired to take in new information and acquire new skills. consider, for a moment, just how thoroughly our society had to fuck up the concept of education for it to be a normal thing to assume kids are universally desperate to avoid learning.

I’m not entirely sure where I ended up. I appear to be in a part of town that I had never set foot in, which is rare enough in itself.

His name was Walker, a colleague of mine. The more I ponder on the writing, the more it does makes sense. He was, if I am correct, Greek. I do not recall his handwriting being quite so horrible, however. Very peculiar. His visit was so far back that even flipping the pages of my book for several hours have yielded no results. I seem to remember he was quite an uncouth and rude man- yet he had an excellent hand in treating the ill. A pity his hearing was never up to the same caliber.

The more I learn about Julie Giroux the more I wonder how tf did my director become friends with her to the point where he conducted Impressions and got his grade twelves three years ago to play the world premiere of Mystic.

How is a 60 year old lesbian from America friends with a 40 something year old man from a city in Alberta. How did they get to the point where Impressions was commissioned for our 2014 graduating class. How did they even meet. They went to separate universities. There's a 20 year age difference between them.

Also, the world premier thing? How the actual fuck did a relatively unknown high school in the prairies land that. She could have picked something like the North Texas wind symphony to do it. She could have gone up to the United States marine band. Instead she took one look at our school and gave it to us.

I have so many questions.
