The best dynamic for a group of characters: every single one of them is the weirdest person you will ever meet, but in wildly different ways.  Every time you think you’ve identified “the normal one” they casually reveal that they don’t think birds exist, or they fistfight grizzly bears on the weekends, or they collect human skulls, and you realize again that none of these people are remotely normal.

Also they’re found family.

Y'know, I think you and a lot of people mistake House for being homophobic, racist, sexist, and transphobic (maybe a little more credit to that one, but if the show was being made in more modern day we might see otherwise). None of them remotely realize,

He's being edgy.

He's purposefully getting a rise out of people because he likes getting people angry at him.

If you listen to what he says when he ACTUALLY means what he's saying, he's actually progressive, especially for the time. He calls the HIV guy's dad a bigot because he thought he hated his son for being gay. He told the football player "you won't need to play sports now to get a good career" when his skin started to discolor to white. He literally said "white, skinny, pretty people make all the rules in society" at one point. All of his actions prove that he believes women are just as capable as men are, if not more so in some cases, especially with Thirteen and Amber. He's FIERCLEY pro choice and doesn't even try to hide it or pretend otherwise.

And while he definitely has some pretty terrible stuff going on with intersex/trans people, the show frames him in a bad way for doing so.

House is a horrendous person in a lot of ways, but he's not ACTUALLY a bigot. He just likes to pretend to be because he hates it when people like him and tries to push them away.

He's in the back of the sedan Bane had rented, feet propped up on the headrests of the seats as he sprawls out halfway on Jeannette's lap. Rain beats down on the windowpane, making the lights of Toledo, OH outside blurry. His girlfriend is idly tangling her fingers in his hair as he begins to doze off. It's peaceful. Or at least it would be peaceful if not for the talking. Jeannie's arguing with Scandal about something he doesn't entirely care about at the moment; he distinctly hears the words "I could have driven", and "Please, darling, you look as though you haven't slept in days", with an added "I'm fine, Jeannette. You're not my mother." for good measure. The banshee's grip tightens on his scalp, briefly pulling him back to the realm of consciousness. Wearily, Floyd grumbles. Bane's getting in on it too, with a particularly stern "Scandal Savage." "Floyd." It's as much of a plea as it is a demand, Bane and Jeannette speaking in unison, the former looking back from the passenger seat to glare at him. "Sis," he groans, pulling himself upright. "You heard her. Pull over. Think we all could use some rest."

Went to Wondercon 2024, again dressed as Ragdoll. Got a picture actually with Gail this time, and then her husband Scott took a bunch of pictures of me just for his own purposes. Ignore the mask straps being over the wig. Physically could not breathe otherwise. Did not take many pictures as a whole as i didn't want to intrude upon others. Been doing enough of that lately.

I don't really post pictures of myself. Or post pictures at all, honestly. Regardless, I went to a local cosplay convention recently in an attempt to forget about just how damn dismal reality is. Saw it fitting to go as one of DC's first trans characters barring Coagula/Kate.

thinking about that "would you peel an orange for me" trend with catshot.

floyd hands his oranges to thomas and thomas wordlessly peels them. but if thomas asked floyd to peel an orange, floyd would mess it up so bad. there'd be finger holes in the orange. it's bleeding juice everywhere. that guy cannot peel oranges. and then he'd be like "heres ur fuckin orange" and throw it at thomas. but floyd would be so flustered about it. his face would be bright red for no reason. jeannette would see the whole thing and make fun of him for it regularly.

I think it's important to let guys be gender non conforming without telling them they're a girl, cause actually misgendering people is still shit even when you are pro trans. "You're a girl, an egg waiting to crack, and that's ok" how about you are a boy and a man and it's still ok if you want to do something that doesn't align with traditional ideals of your gender. You can still be he/him in a skirt and makeup.
