Why This
Aya and Desi had fallen into a routine.  Get up, have a small breakfast, go out and train, sniff around for stories, train a bit more, retire to the hotel, hang out, sleep.  Rinse, wash repeat.  Today was much the same.
Desi had taken to carrying around a small, lackluster laptop with him.  It was to help with his own research, he’d said, but when Aya had questioned what sort of research, he’d simply smiled and said, “Oh, y’know, all sorts of stuff!”  Aya suspected that he mostly used it to play computer games at night, though.
Speaking of computer games, that was exactly what he was doing tonight. Aya would be lying if she’d said she wasn’t interested in seeing what he was playing, but as nice as he was, she got the sense that hovering over his shoulder wouldn’t be appreciated.
Tonight especially was one of those nights where she wished that she had the audacity to watch his screen, if only to get context.  Amidst the frantic mouse clicking and key pressing, Desi let out a soft, distressed “I’m sorryyyyyyyy!!” at his computer game, earning an eyebrow raise from Aya.  She went back to her own journal, but minutes later, when the mouse clicks had died down, she heard groaning coming from the floor.  No...not groaning.  Whining, perhaps?
Concerned, she leaned over to see Desi laying facedown on the ground.  Curiouser and curiouser.  “Uhh...Desi, are...you alright?”
“Nnnnnnoooooooooooooooo.......” came Desi’s muffled, defeated response.  Was he...going to cry?
Aya was duly confused, to say the least.  “Uhhh....you...lose your game, or...?”
“I got socked in the heart,” Desi said against the floor.  “I’m just gonna cry here...”
“What?  Why?  What happened?” Aya frowned.
Desi turned his head, allowing Aya to look at his watery eyes.  “The greater good, that’s what happened,” he whimpered.  He suddenly scrambled to his knees, draping himself over the edge of Aya’s bed.  “I had to sacrifice a really nice character for the greater good!  Aaaauuughhhhh I don’t wanna play this game anymoreeeeeee....”  He buried his face into the sheets, and Aya awkwardly scooted over to pat him on the back.  It was a little amusing, honestly.
“I guess it’s time to stop, huh?” she chuckled wryly.
Desi let out a dramatic, faked sob.  “I’m going back to playing my kitchen simulator...”

Mew
(( Desi finds himself even more playful and energetic than usual.  The first thing that manifests from this possession is the uncanny ability to float, which he initially dismisses as latent psychic powers, then proceeds to use for sick flips and other such fun things.  When his eyes turn blue and his skin takes on a pinkish hue, then he begins to worry.
He senses that something isn’t quite right with him, though he’s not sure what.  He starts to be repulsed by people, which is extremely new for him.  He wants to leave them, because he senses that most of them aren’t quite up to standards (what standards, he wonders), but he can’t because he would be so terribly lonely if he did that, not to mention frightened out of his wits.
The day he learns how to become invisible is the day he disappears, literally and figuratively.  He wanders the globe for people who don’t give him a bad taste in his mouth, and generally lives close to civilization.  He discovers that he can transform into other beings, and does so to avoid being recognized when he goes and wanders the streets.  His company usually consists of Pokemon and young children, as they are generally the most pure of heart.
Sometimes, he pops up in front of his old family and friends, because he remembers them fondly.  But his times with them are far and few in between, not to mention short.  After all, he knows what he is now, and it’s best that they be kept safe. ))

Xernas! or Cressila!
(( Well seeing as how Cresselia is a female-only species……..
The process starts…very slowly, first manifesting internally.  Desi, who already feels that all life is precious, finds this way of thinking multiplied.  He takes care to tread lightly, not even stepping on plants.  He begins to be able to sense the life energy in those around him, and gravitates towards it moreso than usual.
The first physical change is his eyes.  They go from bright green to dark blue, and his pupils change from a circle to an ‘x’ shape.  His hair goes next, turning pale blue.  Markings appear on his face, a similar pale blue.  This is when he begins to lose his sense of self.
One day, he finds that he can revive a dead flower just by touching it.  The markings on his face glow, as does his hair, which sports bits of rainbow as he breathes life into the plant.  After that, the markings begin to rapidly spread across his body, matching the very same ones that Xerneas sports.  His powers grow stronger with each use, and by the time they are fully manifested, Desi is almost lost, pushed to the back of his own mind.  He feels as if he’s living his life through someone else’s eyes, and the opportunities for him to come back are far and few in between.  He’s scared, but most certainly not alone if the life energies he senses are anything to go by.  He supposes it could be worse.
He secludes himself, knowing that his powers are great and could harm someone.  He spends his days in his Neutral mode most of the time, his hair and markings glowing whenever he finds opportunity to breathe life into others. He saves a few people and vanishes without a trace, knowing that people he still cares about are most likely looking for him.
He knows of Yveltal’s existence, and dreads the day the Pokemon of Death awakens once more. ))

Finally finished some scraggy hybrids I’ve been working on for two weeks on and off.  I’ve seen some other awesome ones with the pantslizards but I still wanted to throw my own into the mix after being super inspired from too-much-green ‘s hybrid posts.
The maractus one is a bonus one for my girlfriend, since we have a scrafty/maractus jinka pairing, so there is the desert flower even if they aren’t in the same egg group…. and also are gay men…. but y’know whatever

rakatakat:
really love imagining a bunch a kids and teens on their pokemon journeys staying the night on the couches and floors in the lobbies of pokemon centers, having long talks about their experiences and feelings sharing funny and scary stories and myths about legendaries and trading items and sharing TMs along with sugary snacks and pokedex chargers all while their pokemon are out of their pokeballs and all bundled up in blankets sleeping soundly next to their trainers while they stare up at the stars shining through the glass ceiling over their heads

PWT: The Crowd [Desi & Aya]
Desiderio and Aya took their seats in the stadium as one Clovis Chevalier’s battle called for people to take their seats.  The boy, usually cheery and excited, was unusually tense.  To Aya, the difference was like night and day.
“Desi, are you okay?” she asked worriedly.  “Nervous for your cousin?”
“You know why,” Desi muttered, hands gripping his knees crossed as his body leaned forward.
“.....Because he’s fighting his mom, right...?” Aya frowned.
“I mean....not just that.  You were reading up on all the participants last night, right?” Desi asked, looking at her.
“Yeah?”
“Don’t you remember what you read about Aunt Chevalier?”
“......Yeah.”
“Yeah.”
“But....he’s her son,” Aya frowned.
“And?”
The tone with which Desi said that singular word surprised Aya.  To put it best, it made her feel like she’d just made the most obvious and irrelevant observation in the world.  “And....she’s his mother!”  Her eyebrows furrowed together, confused.
“That doesn’t mean anything to her,” Desi sighed.  “Let’s just say....I’m glad I’m not directly related to her.”
Aya winced.  For Desi, the sweetest boy she’d ever met, to say such a thing....
She turned her head forward.  This battle was going to be a disaster.

PWT: Memory
“Hey, Desi.”
“Yes, Aya?”
“That guy keeps looking at you.”
“Oh!  Do you think he likes me~?”
“.....Do you know who he is?”
“Nope!”
“Didn’t you look at the list I gave yo-- oh, shh!  He’s coming over!”
Aya pulled away from Desi to face the white-haired young man who was calmly striding over to them amongst the crowd.  She knew who this man was, she’d read up on all the participants before she came here, and although her memory wasn’t the best, she’d made herself a page of notes on her holocaster, which she checked regularly.
“Excuse me,” the white-haired youth said, “my name is Alex.  I hope you don’t mind, but I thought you looked familiar.  What’s your name?”
“Ayame!” Aya barked.  “Ayame Noriko....”  It was at this moment that she noticed the surprised look on the man’s face, and she realized: he wasn’t talking to her.  He was talking to Desi.
“Desiderio Bolton!” Desi chirped, eyes bright.  “Oh, but Desi for short.”
“Bolton....” Alex mused.  “You wouldn’t happen to have a brother named Jaxen, would you?”
“Yep!” Desi nodded.  “He’s my older brother.  Are you a friend of his?” he asked curiously.
“An acquaintance, more like.  Afraid to say, he wouldn’t remember me,” Alex said dismissively.
“Oh....really?” Desi frowned slightly.  “I’m sure if I asked him and gave him your name, he’d remember!  He’s got a really good memory.”
“It’s quite alright,” Alex told him with a shake of his head.  “No need.  How is he, by the way?  Still with the Rangers?”
“Yep,” Desi nodded again.  “He’s doing information work and stuff, he doesn’t come home often.”  With that, he seemed to sulk a bit, though Aya knew that he was exaggerating.
“I see.”  Alex closed his eyes for a brief moment, as if contemplating something.  “Glad to hear it.  Sorry to bother you, I suppose I ought to let you get back to enjoying the tournament.”
Desi shook his head.  “It’s okay!  Have a nice day, Alex!”
Alex gave a wry smile.  “You, too,” he nodded, and walked away.
After waving goodbye to the strange white-haired man, Desi turned to Aya.  “Well, he was nice!”
Aya simply stared in the direction Alex had gone off in, jaw slack.  “Desi....”  Her eyes moved before she did, and without warning, she grabbed Desi’s shoulders.  “Desi, you didn’t tell me you knew Alex Deaupont!”
“I don’t!” Desi blinked.  “But he knows my brother, apparently!  Why, wait, how’d you know his last name?”
“He’s only one of the big names in the tournament scene!  Didn’t you read the sheet I gave you??”
“Nope!”
“DESI!!!!!”
