This month I’m launching my A-Abstraction-Architecture topic at @kunstfuck_art_residency . It’s mostly inspired by my own series of Budapest landscapes, as well as by Russian and Hungarian avant-garde artists Popova and Kassak, and my fav American painter Richard Diebernkorn, of course. This is the process of painting the portrait of Amrita Sher-Gil from my ‘Famous Hungarians’ series. The episode is taken from my trilogy about three Hungarian female artist, primarily shot for @huncult . I’ve just found one of the most beautiful photos of me in process from the last summer. Usually, i look waaaay too different while painting, in a dirty medicine uniform, no makeup, just smoky eyes 😉sometimes. So when my colleagues upload the photos like that, half naked-sexy-pexy, i usually don’t believe them. Because the true art comes from the soul (full of dráma in my case, therefore the piece I’m retouching here is a total meaningless shit). Venus, spreading, oil on canvas by @devochkina_the_artist . In March 2020 we’ve started live modeling sessions and they run amazingly. This piece came in between of teaching and sketching, cooking a tea for students and cleaning a working space meanwhile. Our collaboration w. @draculanails presents a series of my oil paintings in gel-lack on nails. It is a part of my research of a new women’s artistic language. I observe mediums and techniques that are familiar to women’s community only to produce my own art pieces. Budapest based nail artist Dracula Nails got it very well. To fix gel-lack you need special LEDs, so out project saw the light because of them as well. ‪I’ve started the most romantic artistic life u can even imagine: I’ve just payed for the rent w.2 paintings from my #FamousHungarians series: Victor Vasarely and Marcel Breuer. I’m pretty much excited about this fact, but it was also sooo sad to give them away. ‬Later I was said that the most amazing collections were created in a crisis (when artists had nothing to eat). Though I couldn’t even predict the crisis like that - I’m pretty much thankful for being involved in a collection creation. The piece is inspired by early Maria Lassnig’s works and Euan Uglow’s pieces. It was painted in spring 2020 being under despair and infected by the media attack.
