EVERYTHING. none of it have would happened if the doctor hadnt 1) invited jack to travel with them 2) stolen the tardis and ran away 3) met queen victoria in torchwood house and caused her to create an organization dedicated to hunting him down 4) helped open the rift with the gelth in cardiff 1869. THE DOCTOR WAS RESPONSIBLE FOR EVERYTHING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO JACK: HIS IMMORTALITY. TORCHWOOD. AND EVEN TORCHWOOD CARDIFF.

There is one interaction that I think perfectly sums up Gwen as a person and it’s her conversation with Tosh at the end of Greeks Bearing Gifts.

She brings up what Tosh would have heard and rather than trying to excuse it or explain herself which Tosh expects her to do, she uses it to make Tosh feel less like she’d alienated herself. She points out the fact that her moral compass isn’t exactly pointing north either and while it wasn’t great that Tosh heard their thoughts, she doesn’t have any room to judge.

It’s one of my favorite Gwen moment because it’s just so human. Gwen is flawed and she knows it and she uses those flaws to show Tosh that everyone makes mistakes.

I really freaking love Gwen Cooper.

as much as I love the torchwood fandom, it has a serious issue with its treatment of Gwen, specifically in fics. They make her out to be this homophobic, angry, manipulative person that doesn’t care about anyone there but herself. In the show she is nothing like that, she isn’t a perfect person, she’s made many mistakes but where on earth did people get the idea that she would hate ianto for being with jack.

I haven’t finished the series yet so if there are moments where she’s like that then feel free to tell me but I find that people just villanize her sm and then go and ignore all of the shitty stuff that Owen did. I must say, I hated when she was cheating on her boyfriend, that I can’t defend but people need to stop acting like she’d personally beat up people who work with her for not having the same values as her.

Ianto and Gwen have the type of relationship where if Gwen complained about her boots being to painful on her feet, Ianto would offer to give her his shoes and she would reply with something like “I don’t think they’d fit, sweetheart but thanks for the offer” and then they would link arms like old ladies while they walked

I love 10, I really do, I think he’s fascinating, but he’s actually the worst. He was rude and arrogant and selfish and hypocritical, he was not a good guy. Like yes, he tried his best to do the right thing but at the end of the day the way he treated the people who cared about him sucked so much.

I really think people forget about that because David Tennant is, well, David Tennant. He played the character so brilliantly it’s almost hard to see his flaws, but they are certainly there.

And that’s not to say the other regenerations of the Doctor are so much better, it is the same character after all, but people seem much more hesitant to criticize 10 than any of the others.

Hot take maybe but I need everybody to stop idolizing the 10th doctor just because they like David Tennant. The majority of 10 dickriders I meet are people who only started the show FOR David Tennant and only watched his seasons and 14s seasons. Not saying that's everyone but.. anyway 10 is so awful to Martha and I would feel the LEAST safe travelling with him vs any other doctor. He was so obsessed with Rose that Martha always felt like a second choice or even a rebound. No shade to Rose obviously, that's not her fault. Not to mention the whole minorly racist thing he had going on??? PLEASE guys stop pretending 10 is just this silly guy who travels space and time because he is NOT. I like 10s character and the way he's portrayed because his morals are so interesting but I do not just excuse his actions because he's played by an actor I like. Please. Guys.

I was putting off watching Miracle Day (because as much as I love Jack and Gwen, the clear absence of Ianto, Tosh, and Owen is devastating to say the least.) and now I kind of regret it.

so i run hot and cold on the tenth doctor for a couple of different reasons, but something that fucking bugged me about utopia is his treatment of jack. why do you have to be a shitty ex? why do you try to act like you did nothing wrong, then sort of not really apologise? why are you so snappy at jack and martha when they discuss legitimate ways you've hurt them? and why, for the love of god, do you think it's fine to dictate who jack flirts with when you abandoned him on a ship full of dead bodies at the edge of the universe with a dodgy transportation device and then didn't even call? fuck you, actually.
