hello! i have genuinely no clue who is going to see this.. but i wanted to share something that happened earlier today.
i saw an instagram post of a gated community. inside the gate we’re the gay, lesbian, bi, and trans flags. outside of the gate were the ace and pan flags. i, personally, cannot speak for asexuals, but as a pansexual... i wasn’t too cheery to see that.
i commented asking if they understood that they knew that they were practically saying that pansexuality isn’t real or is not valid, and the responses i got kind of shocked me. most of the people just said “yes”, they knew what they were doing and they supported it. the person who posted the picture was respectful, they replied and told me that it is okay to identify as pansexual, as long as i am not participating in bi erasure/biphobia. the other people... were just terrible.
i was called a “pannie”, a “thing”, “disgusting”, “gross”, for what? i was nothing but respectful in the argument. my boyfriend and most of my friends are bisexual, the last thing that i am is biphobic. i know the origins of pansexuality, how it was initially transphobic, biphobic, and how it promoted pedophilia and beastiality. i don’t stand for that whatsoever, that is not who i am as a person, and i will never be that person.
i was pressured to “accept” that i am just a bisexual who’s trying to be “special”, which i am not. the reason why i identify the way that i do is because the lgbt community in my school is primarily bisexual, and their feelings differ from mind heavily. four or five years ago i was also told by a bisexual friend that i was pan, because what i was feeling wasnt bisexuality.
no, i am not biphobic. i initially came out as bi, but changed because of what a friend told me. i have no problem identifying as bisexual, i have just spent the lasts few years of my life being told that there was a difference between me and the bisexuals around me. i have no problem with bisexuals, none whatsoever, but the accusations put on me today that i am transphobic and biphobic were harmful. as sad as it is, sometimes the lgbt community can be more toxic than anyone realizes.
idk who’s going to see this, i just hope that people can take it as a sort of “awakening” i guess, to realize that what you say can hurt someone, even if it’s a super super strong belief of yours. it’s been 18 years since pansexuality was first spoken about, and things have changed since then.

Approximately two weeks after purchasing a $200 dehumidifier and notifying the landlord that the mold problem in our apartment has grown out of control, we were served papers informing us that our lease is not being renewed.
We are currently exploring legal assistance, but we have to get out of here. The dehumidifier has worked a miracle, but the mold is still a very present concern, and even if the landlord was renewing our lease, we’d be in need of new housing.
The problem is that we live in poverty! Hooray!
tl;dr, we’re a household of four disabled trans people in desperate need of housing that isn’t hazardous to our health.
