Note
Evening,
I’m watching Good Omens and, with the whole Ides of March thing being so recent, I noticed that the year Crowley is in Rome, carrying out a temptation, is very close to the year in which Caesar died. Are these things connected, or is it just coincidence?
I think you may be confusing your ADs and your BCs, or your CEs with your BCEs.
Caesar was killed in 44 BC. Crowley and Aziraphale are in Rome during the reign of Caligula in about 40AD. That's 84 years difference.

Crowley brought a dinner knife to the conspiracy against Caesar. Aziraphale, who misunderstood the assignment, brought a fork.

Aziraphale: Caesar was murdered today. Did you have anything to to with that?

Crowley: Aren’t you the one who gives away stabby things?

Happy Stabby Day!
EDIT: Because some of you asked about my headcanon:
I think Crowley just found out about the conspiracy from his army of informants. I don't think he was involved in suggesting or encouraging the conspirators, I think that would have been too much trouble, and stabby day was just another one of those awful ideas humanity manages to come up with all on their own that end up creating turmoil and suffering, like the Spanish Inquisition. Of course he took credit for it to keep in the good graces of the bureaucrats Down There - and likely got a commendation.
YMMV.
Reblogging this post for those of you who prefer to think Crowley totally orchestrated Stabby Day:
