My Lil’ Pumpkin Set by EksdySims

Based on this year’s “pottery barn kids” toddler pumpkin costume, because I thought it was cute.

Set contains 3 items - Hat, Full Body Outfit, and “Booties” which are shoes made to look like socks. Booties also have a couple of extra colors for regular non-costume use.

Fair warning that because the normal is based on the pumpkin version of the costume I made first, you can still see a little bit of ribbing on the non-ribbed versions of this costume. I don’t personally mind this, but it might seem a little funky.

Can't believe I'm making another post about Adf*y in 2021 but here we go...

I'm sure you all know the new adf*y page which (i'm pretty sure) adf*y skipper can't skip anymore, the one where it asks to send notifications and won't let you proceed until you let them send notifications.

I accidentally just allowed one of these notifications (not at home and using a janky mouse on a pillow, keeps going crazy), so I immediately headed to my chrome settings to get rid of it.

I'm going through blocking everything before I delete it (just so I feel better about it truly being gone lol) and I see this:

I'm thinking, what the hell is a payment handler and why is it set to allow?? That super doesn't sound good... And after some googling I find yeah, it's probably not great.

So, what's a payment handler? Basically, it's when google saves your payment details to autofill later on when you're making an online purchase. So that includes your credit card, debit card, paypal, ect, details. (Source - askcybersecurity.com) Now these are usually fine on legitimate sites but this site specifically:

You just google 'christianivory.pro' and every result is how to get rid of it because it's malware. (That picture was after I cleared the cookies it had already stored, no idea what they were)

(btw, I wouldn't recommend clicking on any of these since malware/viruses are often hidden behind fake anti-malware ads/programs)

Luckily I don't keep any of my payment details saved so I'm pretty sure I'm fine after deleting it and MalwareBytes or Windows Defender hasn't detected anything. I can't say for sure what it would have done if I hadn't of deleted it, it seems to mostly be notification spam but the fact that it was trying to access my payment methods doesn't sound all that great. Even if having the payment methods allowed doesn't do shit, I've had money stolen from me through an adf*y virus before (source - my tumblr)

Like I said, I'm pretty sure I got lucky because I don't save those things but I'm going to offer a hypothetical situation which could be extremely likely in our community specifically;

Lets say I'm a 14 year old simmer who uses their parents computer to play the sims. I've recently discovered custom content and my favourite creator uses adf*y, but since I'm young and new to the community I have no idea that adf*y can be bad and I trust this creator so they would never link me to anything that could harm my computer... right? So I accept that adf*y notification and don't think anything of it, I get the CC I really like and I'm happy. But that notification I just accepted has saved my parents credit card details. I'm sure you can guess where the rest of this situation goes.

So this is me, creator to creator, telling you need to stop. I know finding a source of income can be awful right now, but your source of income could be coming at the expense of someone else who did not agree to this.

If you think your content is worth a price then I urge you to start a Patreon, Ko-Fi or even a paypal because these are platforms that are safe for both parties and are OPTIONAL. Adf*y is not optional for the downloader.

Stop putting the younger and more susceptible people in our community at risk. As creators it is likely that we gain a larger following so stop taking advantage of that. Especially if you're older or are someone who preaches the safety of our younger members in this space, step up and actually practice what you fucking preach instead of just saying it for likes and reblogs.

I am genuinely sick of this, I've been in this community for over half a goddamn decade now and I've posted before about adf*y, as have dozens of other people and this shit is STILL happening.

I am so close to wiping my old laptop and recording myself going through creators adf*y links and downloading as many malicious things as I can JUST to prove to people that adf*y is not safe. And no, I wouldn't blur out blog names, I would specifically be calling people out on their shit. This isn't just petty simblr drama, this can actually affect peoples lives.

TL:DR;

It's Adf*y?? We all know it's bad, stop using it for the sake of our community members!?? I'm gonna start calling people out for pretty soon?? STOP PISSING WHERE YOU EAT

Wacky Doctor (Halloween Costume Mini Set) by Eksdy

Coat Conversion includes all original EA color swatches plus 2 Dark recolors by me that just make for a nice formal looking child coat. This is a Top rather than a full body outfit, and looks good with most pants.

The Glasses were miserable to make but I learned a lot from them. They don’t look amazing up close but are fine at just a little distance. Be aware that the eyeballs and springs will not work with DoF or anything else that usually messes with alpha items. Also, if you look at a sim from the right side, where the droopy spring is actually in front of the non-droopy eye, the eye will look as though it is in front of the spring.

This is only an issue at a limited angle and because of the way these glasses were made, as far as I can find, is not something I can fix. I like them anyway, so I’m sharing them. *shrugs*

Inside #9 Sims Lane - you’ve been warned!

So, here’s the inside of the Mashuga’s house! I decided to use that Decades stuff pack when I “decorated” it. Grandellama had it set up to look like the original, but I always changed that house too, so this is basically how I did it when I played TS1.

This is the lovely kitchen/dining area.

Then the main, living room.

The bathroom. And I’ve just realized that granellama made two rooms red - probably because that’s the way it was in TS1. But since this is a color-wheel house, I’ll probably go back in and make this room a royal blue.

And finally the place where all the magic happens – the bedroom! Complete with a vibrating bed and mirrored wall.

That’s the end of the tour! And even though Sylvia-Marie is currently working as a ghost-hunter - since that’s what she said she wanted to do, because it makes it a lot easier to scope out other Sims’s houses to see what she can “liberate” - she says that she is available to help you redecorate your own homes. For a fee. A BIG fee.

Just a little post to introduce the other members of my fictional band Plastic because I love them.

The following is and excerpt from a June 2021 article in Muse Magazine about the band:

“In 2010, when three college freshmen met through mutual friends and bonded over a love of music, they had no idea that  they were about to form one of the most prolific bands of the decade. After three years of playing in bars and on their own for fun, the group was picked up Division 47 Records, with whom they created their first album “Souless Society”, an album which, at the time, did little more than flop. Thankfully, the group persevered, and it was their next album, “Grim Ambiguous” that shot them into the spotlight. Six years and two albums later, we still know very little about the members’ personal lives. Despite the group’s popularity and vibrance on stage, and other than lead vocalist, Johnny Treal’s very public declaration of their nonbinary gender in 2016, the three keep very much to themselves, leading to much speculation throughout the fan community. In this article we will...”

More importantly, unknown to the public (or at least unconfirmed), Delia Zane and Hayne Duffe have been in a very loving, very open relationship with each other since college. Outside this partnership, Delia is mostly only attracted to women and has had several long-term relationships that have been kept very, very, quiet. Hayne is seen by the public as the token “straight” guy in the band, and he mostly is, but he and Johnny have been doing a kind of will-they won’t-they dance around each other for years.

Johnny is... well, for one, a natural flirt- doesn’t really date, but absolutely keeps a stack of NDA forms on hand at all times (not in a skeevy way, it’s important to note, there isn’t any deception here, and all past bed partners were 100% on board with it being a one time thing). Johnny also very secretly has a 4yo son with a past hook-up and current close friend who he absolutely dotes on every chance he gets. And despite most articles written about Johnny since 2016 using the pronoun “they”, Johnny himself has no serious personal preference for pronouns and absolutely swaps them interchangeably based on how she feels at any given time.

All three of them live together in a very sizable mansion. Zany hijinks ensue. :)

Working on a set of in-game posters of my fictional band “Plastic”, and rather liked how this fairly simple edit came out before I “posterized” it, so I thought I’d share it here.

Also here’s an excerpt from (fictional) Muse Magazine as a tiny primer for the character:

Johnny Treal is frontman of one of the sim world’s most popular bands of the last decade, “Plastic”. Born in Pleasantview, Johnny has certainly shed those small-town roots to become one of the world’s most visual performers, with a personal rule of always being “the most chaotically dressed person in the room” whether on-stage or off. Treal also made headlines back in 2016, coming out publicly as nonbinary with the statement, “what is gender, really, but another set of messed up rules for exactly how to dress and how to act around other people-- I don’t want any part of that”. Despite being a self proclaimed “walking sexual quandary”, Johnny Treal has a large and very dedicated fanbase, and placed at #3 last year on our “hottest celebrity of 2020” web poll. Plastic is currently on tour, and their new album “Maximum Jaw Slider” can be found in stores now!

Plastic is a fictional band I originally created in The Sims 2 circa probably 2005, just after TS2 University came out. The band consists of Johnny Treal, Delia Zane, and Hayne Duffe, and I will definitely be posting more of them going forward because I love them, and I really love how my TS4 recreations of them have come out. The posters probably won’t be out for a bit because I want to make a bunch of them, but look out for those as well in the future. :)

Intro Post: Take #2

Hey there, I’m Eksdy.

I’ve been playing the sims for 2/3 of my life off and on, but have recently really gotten back into the game. I have no idea how long that will stick, because my interest runs in cycles and is somewhat fleeting, but in the meantime I’ve been having fun playing the game and now learning to make cc for it.

This is actually a really old simblog (circa 2015) that I made and just never did anything with. Since I’m finally getting back into the game, I figured I’d come back here, dust off all the old cobwebs, and put it to use.

As ever, I have big ideas, but no clue if I’ll have the time or motivation to see them out. I do know I’ll be posting at least some CC here, and probably some images of my sims and builds.

The Sims 3 Smooth Patch 1.0

Yeah, you read correctly, I said Sims 3 :)

This mod makes the game’s logic threads run faster, speeding up loading of Buy/Build and CASt, smoother UI elements, smoother CAS, fixes CAS music randomly stopping, among other things.

This mod should work on Steam, Retail and No-CD versions of the game. Not on Origin versions unfortunately as it blocks this kind of hack, so 1.69 won’t work.

Download: SFS / Dropbox

Simply unzip the file into your “The Sims 3/Game/Bin” folder.

You can configure the mod by editing the TS3Patch.txt file with notepad. I left comments in that file on how to set it up for lower end computers or in case it’s too demanding on your game.

The changes are most noticeable in CAS: Smoother body sliders, Sim rotation and quicker loading of clothes.
