My thoughts on... X-Men Red 2018 (#1-5) & X-Men Red Annual 2018 (#1)
So this series was actually recommended to me! I was told it was a follow up to All-New Wolverine in a way which got me very excited as I really wanted to see what was next for Laura and Gabby after that incredible run. Not to mention it was a great way for me to get to know a bunch of characters I really didn't know much about, since I haven't really read any mainline X-Men titles before this. All in all this series did not dissapoint whatsoever! I really love the whole setup of this comic and Jean Grey. She isn't really a character I know much about but I'm really loving her characterization in this and how much they explore her, especially in the annual. It's really cool to see her catch up with everything after being dead for such a long time and learning how different the world has become. Her inner monologue in the annual was super interesting to read and it's done is such a well executed way. It really made me wish they would've done the same type of inner monologue for Laura in All-New Wolverine considering it's the same writer. I think the thematics this series covers are very relevant up until this day, especially everything regarding social media and how it's being used to instill hate and fear into people. Jean's plan to heal the world is really sweet (although I admittedly immediatly thought of PS5 Spider-Man 2 even though this comic came first). I love how she uses her powers to make both sides understand each other. The entire reasoning of her X-Men team existing and the mission they're carrying out is super cool and I absolutely love it! The way they explores the themes are very well done and the social commentary is also very poignant albeit very on the nose. Regardless I loved seeing this team come together and rise to protect mutants from hatred and fear. Another thing that was really cool about these first few issues was the world building. I really loved the more political side of the issues where we learn how the world views mutants and how certain countries are less forgiving than others with some of them detaining them for no reason whatsoever. It feels very real because it is very real. I think the worldbuilding in this really showed how the world would look at mutants and what role social media and politics would play in that. it's a super interesting angle that I really like.
Casandra Nova is also a very interesting villain, I don't know much about her (besides that she's Xavier's evil twin) so I'm very intrigued to see what she's up to. Especially with the sentinites. I will say the whole way the sentinites work and how they get removed feels way to plot convenient in my opinion. I wish they would've done something a bit more complex with that. Also I have to mention how much I love the small All-New Wolverine references in this. Like Gambit and Gabby talking about how they first met and Gabby repairing the pelican statue (super happy that the statue is back! It was one of my favorite running gags from that run!). So yeah so far i'm really enjoying this series. It's right up my alley and I love all the thematics it touches upon because it feels super relevant to the current state of the world. Super excited to read the rest!

My thoughts on... Spider-Gwen: Smash 2023 (#1-4) & Giant-Size Spider-Gwen 2024 (#1)
It's finally time to talk about Spider-Gwen comics again! I was super excited and hyped when this miniseries first got announced at SDCC and really couldn't wait until the issues started releasing. On top of that a giant sized issue also later on got announced as a follow up to this miniseries which made me even more excited! Now that the series has wrapped up it's finally time to talk about it! I absolutely loved this series and everything it did! For a while now Spider-Gwen comics have had quite a few unresolved plotlines lying around that just have been ignored, however this series finally touches upon a few of them! The two main ones being how Gwen got to live back peacefully on earth 65 after she got forced to 616 due to the Storm siblings, and the major one being MJ Carnage (but more on that later!). It also focussed on a few aspects of Gwen and her stories that haven't had quite the focus in recent miniseries, the main one being her band. It was such a blast seeing her go on tour with her band trying to balance being Ghost-Spider while also being a bandmember and also dealing with some personal stuff. It's such an amazing concept for a series and it worked so well. I'm also very glad that they're following up onto Gwen not feeling at home in her own dimension because it was a really cool plotpoint from the (Spider-Gwen:) Ghost-Spider run and i'm happy they finally zoomed in a bit more on that. It was always a part of that run that hit hard for me so it was great to see it get more attention. Especially now that Gwen has been away from her home dimension for a while. It was so interesting to see her try to find something to make her stay and make her choose her own earth above all the other ones she could go too. And the way she finds that meaning within her band and MJ is so cool. Speaking of the band, I really loved Gwen's dynamic with them in this. It's very in line with her debut run where she has troubles balancing her superhero stuff with the band stuff and while the band does get mad at her, they're always there for her no matter what. And I love that it's still a thing in this miniseries. The Mary Janes are one of my favorite supporting casts in comics so I was super glad to see them get such a focus in this and how their dynamic with Gwen is and evolves throughout the mini.
Now another dynamic I just have to talk about is the one between Gwen and MJ. Let me preface this by saying that i've always felt they had romantic tension going on and that their frustrations with each other came out of a place of love and being unable to understand each other properly. And I am so so glad that this mini series finally acknowledges that romantic tension in such a big way while also continuing the MJ Carnage plotline. I really love how they built up Gwen's and MJ's dynamic, even with small moments like the scene in #1 where they peform at the same place where the Gwenom vs Carnage battle took place in 616 and MJ reminds Gwen of that and how this time it's just them and the music. Moments like these were so great and genuine and I just loved them. #3 is when things really get exciting as MJ is finally more upfront regarding her feelings for Gwen (even towards Gloria whom she's currently still dating, I know akward situation!). And wants to talk with Gwen about it before getting kidnapped. It's also a really big issue as Gwen finally finds out MJ has a crush on her all while growing closer towards her band. This is a bit of a side tangent but I really liked the dynamic between Gwen and Gloria and how there was a lot of jealousy at play due to MJ. Was really well done in my opinion. Now back on topic, #4 and Giant-Size also were great for finally advancing the dynamic between Gwen and MJ. Gwen fighting against MJCarnage while MJ rants out her deepest frustrations about Gwen was so cool and I loved that they kept that part from Gwenom vs Carnage, as it was a thing I actually loved about that mini. The moment during that fight that really stood out to me is when MJ is ranting about Gwen not knowing her truly and not caring for her with Gwen replying that if MJ thinks she doesn't care for her it's MJ that actually doesn't know her truly. Small moment but really sweet as it once again shows how much these two truly care about each other even if they don't always express it in healthy ways. The way the 4th issue ends with it being implied that Gwen is open to trying to make a relationship work made me so happy! I really think these two deserve their happy ending together while finally being upfront with each other and leaving the bottled up frustrations due to not understanding each other behind. I really really hope future writers of her comics take this plotpoint and explore it further (hopefully in her ongoing later this year) and make Gwen and MJ finally have that talk they've been wanting to have. Especially with how things end for them in giant size (but more on that later). Another really cool thing about this mini was all the new earth 65 counterparts of iconic 616 characters. It's one of my favorite things about earth 65 and it once again delivered with Dazzler, Black Widow and Bruce Banner. I really loved Gwen's friendship with Dazzler and hope we see them team up again in the future. Black Widow was also a really cool take on the character that's very familiar yet different (i absolutely love her design in this!). I love that she has a certain mystique to her and we don't know the full extent of who she truly is. She's powerful that's for sure, knowing that she was responsible for the Storm siblings leaving Gwen alone. Bruce Banner was also super interesting, admittedly he did came over very cliché but when you read his dialogue a few times you notice he's actually a very intriguing villain with a very interesting view on the world. I wish we would've seen more of him as I truly think he has a lot of potential. The big thing I love about his character is how it subverts the Hulk. Instead of being this angry monster the Hulk is actually the good side while Banner is the bad side. It's such a simple twist yet it works so well. I really hope we'll see more of him!
Now for the giant size issue! Well you can't really call it giant size as it's only like 20 pages of new content but hey it was fun so i'm not complaining too much! I really loved the entire concept of that issue. Gwen and MJ making their way through the city to meet Black Widow on time all while dealing with a bunch of villains they really don't have any time for whatsoever. It was such a funny issue with a lot of good comedic moments. MJCarnage was a really fun character in this with her ridiculous anger issues and it was so fun to see Gwen deal with that, especially when she's on the phone with Black Widow. That entire scene was just gold. I also liked how it introduced some new villains and set up Gwen's own sinister six with some very unique members. I really hope we get to see that setup come to fruitition at some point. It might be unlikely given the concept of the new Spider-Gwen ongoing that's releasing later this year. However during their setup tease there were a few 616 characters on the screen so who knows, maybe they'll travel to 616 to take upon Gwen! The final moments between Gwen and MJ before MJ leaves with Black Widow to learn to control her symbiote were so emotional. Especially with how Gwen was uncontrollably crying and shaking. It's so bittersweet. MJ's feelings for her are out in the open and Gwen is willing to make it work and have a solid talk with her about everything. Yet they never get to have that talk due to everything that's been going on. I really hope that they get to have that talk in the future and things work out for them. I'm really rooting for them! MJ's final line being "I love you Gwen" was such a perfect yet bittersweet moment. Very emotional moment. I think all in all this miniseries and giant sized issues were an amazing story that was very much needed for Spider-Gwen. It perfectly deals with some of the unresolved plotlines from her previous series while also exploring new things that were in desperate need of being finally explored. The characterization in this was very solid and very in line for all the characters. And I loved how much this series kept in mind the history of the characters and previous runs. I loved the character development in this for both Gwen and Mj. I had a blast reading this as the issues came out and it was so exciting to theorize what might happen next as i read the issues. I'm very sad that it's over but I'm very happy with what they did with this series. It took Gwen's story into such a good direction and even though her new ongoing will deal with something completely else I hope it gets the chance to follow up to the events of this series at some point. Regardless I'm very very hyped for her new ongoing and can't wait to write about it here!

My thoughts on... X-Terminators 2022 (#1-5)
After reading through most of Laura Kinney's solo runs I was dying to read more comics with her in it, and X-Terminators seemed perfect for that considering its fairly standalone story plus its fun premise and cast of character! Not to mention it was a perfect way to learn more about other characters! It's safe to say that it didn't dissapoint as it's absolutely one of the craziest comic series I've ever read. I really enjoyed all of the characters in this series as it consisted out of characters I had seen before such as Jubilee and Laura but also characters I wanted to learn more about such as Dazzler of whom I'm currently really enjoying the earth-65 version of in Spider-Gwen: Smash. Boom Boom also provided some really amazing comedic moments and added a fun dynamic to the team. She was a character I didn't know much about so it was really fun to see what's she's all about! I loved how this entire series starts of as a group of besties helping their friend with a breakup which then slowly evolves into them helping a whole lot of women escape and confront their abuser. The overarching story of this series was something I actually quite enjoyed a lot and something I feel gets a bit overshadowed at times when I see people discussing this series. The humor and jokes in this run were absolutely unhinged and hillarious for the most part. There are a few moments that felt a bit weird to me and didn't land. But overall I laughed a lot while reading this series and had an absolute blast with it. The self awareness the series has really adds a lot to the humor. And overall all of it really made for some incredible one liners and character interactions. Another thing I really appreciate about this series is the consistency in Laura's characterization and past (despite a few nitpicks i have here and there). I love that they remembered the friendship Laura and Jubilee have and how in a way it's partially a follow up to the events of the Misadventures In Babysitting arc from X-23 2010B. It was really nice that they remembered those details and made it part of the series! I also loved the absurdity of it all when they desperatly try to explain everything to the Quiet Council and how the X-Men experienced the situation. It was so fun to see them try and explain everything after falling through a massive portal in the sky and landing onto the X-Men sports game while wearing all sorts of halloween costumes and how the X-Men basically had 0 context for any of it. I really hope that they revisit this team at some point in the future because i absolutely love the chemistry they have together and how fun they are to watch! All by all X-Terminators was a really fun miniseries with incredibly fun and hillarious moments and character interactions even if sometimes the humor didn't land or certain parts of the comic were a bit weird. The overarching story was really good and I wish more people would mention that part of the series as I think that it gets overlooked quite a bit. I'm really happy that I ended up reading this as it was an absolute blast!

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (afterword)
This run was such an amazing experience start to finish! And it serves as such a nice continuation of her previous runs in a way that really made me appreciate the character even more. So it's time to reflect a bit on everything! I'm super happy I finally got to read this run as i've been wanting to read it for ages. I'm really glad I read all of her previous runs before this though because otherwise this run wouldn't have hit nearly as hard as it did now. I do feel that in many ways this is kind of the end point of the "main" story for Laura. It was an super awesome and emotional journey to see her grow throughout what I consider to be this tetrology that consists out of X-23 (2005), X-23: Target X (2006), X-23 (2010), All-New Wolverine (2015). She really has grown so much as a person throughout these run and it was so awesome and incredibly emotional to see that entire journey for her and how it all came full circle for her. I can confidently say that's my 2nd favorite Marvel character next to Spider-Gwen and perhaps maybe my 2nd all time fav as well? Her entire story really resonated with me and I definitely see some parts of myself in her, and there are definitely things I relate to in her story in my own way. Seeing her take upon the mantle of Wolverine was so awesome and the role fits her so well! I'm really happy that she's still (a) Wolverine up until this day. I also am very happy that I got to know Gabby, she's such an amazingly fun character and she should be legally obliged to show up in whichever comic Laura shows up! Regardless, I am super excited to read all the other Laura Kinney stories that are out there (starting with X-Terminators up next!) as she has become such a big favorite of mine and I just need to see more of her as Wolverine! I will say this run kinda feels like it might become a comfort run because I don't know there is something really heartwarming about it that just makes it such a nice read. I think this run balances all the different tones it wants to hit very well. It's able to have some very fun character moments while also deliver on more serious and badass moments. It's really cool how this run is its own thing while still very much being a sequel as to what came before for Laura Kinney. The way this run builds ontop of what came before while adding new stuff to it and recontextualizing her past was really well done in a way that makes sense. I really liked how we see a much more mentally healthy Laura in this and how she cuts loose from the final few bits of her past that are still haunting or controlling her, it's such an amazing arc for her and seeing all of it happen in real time was so amazing! Seeing her take upon the Wolverine mantle was incredibly awesome and it fits her so well, not to mention that her Wolverine suit just looks amazing! (her bulletproof black and silver one as well!) So yeah this was an absolute blast to read and I'm very much looking forward to reading more of her comics as she has become one of my all time favorite characters!

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (#31-35) "Old Woman Laura"
It's time for the finale of this run! I've had such an amazing time with this run that it's sad to see it come to an end. However i'm glad that i got to read it because it was such an awesome ride!
These last 5 issues had a lot of variety in them! I'm so glad we got to see a Gabby & Deadpool team up issue, they're super fun together and their chemistry is just amazing. I loved how also gave us some more info on Jonathan and where he came from. I'm super glad they rememberd the universal translator he got from the Guardians Of The Galaxy. It was so cool seeing them take upon an army of zombie animals and get revenge for Jonathan. Super fun issue! I love how this run just has these small stories inbetween arcs that just really makes you appreciate these characters so much. Also RIP Penagos The Pelican Statue :( one of my favorite running gags in this run.
The follow up issue on orphans of x was really cool too. I love how it gave us some more context regarding Laura's first mission at the facility and how they mirrored the way that day went for Amber and Laura. Super interesting stuff. It was really cool to see them team up and take upon the final remaining threads responsible for that assination. I do wish the issue would've been a bit longer as I think it could've used the extra few pages nicely. But regardless it was a cool issue and I love how it gave more context about Laura's first mission.
The Old Woman Laura arc was certainly an interesting choice to close off this run. I'm not sure how I feel about the decision to close out the run with future alternate timeline versions of Laura & Gabby. Don't get me wrong I loved the arc but I feel like the final arc should've been focussed on present day Laura & Gabby although on the other hand I kind of like it because it makes it a complete story for Laura start to finish (even though it's an alternate universe). Because it kind of makes it a complete experience from her first mission to her very last in this amazing tetrology that consists out of X-23 (2005), X-23: Target X (2006), X-23 (2010), All-New Wolverine (2015). Like having read all of them it's such an complete experience. It's really rare I feel for a character to get such consistent storytelling and characterization throughout a decade. Where all runs just perfectly follow up on each other and very much keep in mind the history of the character. So in that sense I do like it as the final arc, because it just gives you her complete story with a potential end point for her in the future. But still I do wish we would've at least gotten one more issue that just focusses on Laura and Gabby and maybe some reflection about their journey together and how far they've come.
Now speaking about the Old-Woman Laura arc itself! It was so cool to see a potential future for Laura and Gabby and how despite all the change they've went through they still retain some core elements like the pelican statue or Gabby's favorite food being the 25 in one. Speaking of Gabby, her Wolverine suit is SO COOL. Like lightsaber claws? That's so awesome! Really loved the design of that suit so much. It was also very interesting to see all the world building in this alternate universe/timeline. Kamala Khan being President, the Doom War, Madripoor being ruled by Laura. Really cool stuff! I loved the team she assembled for her final mission. Captain Marvel had such a cool design in this as well. I really love how the final mission was to free Bellona and kill Doom, I'm glad they haven't forgotten about her and I hope she shows up in future comics somewhere down the line because she's a very interesting character. It was so interesting to learn about what happened to all the presumed dead heroes in the Doom war and what Doom's fate was. The most emotional part of this final arc was definitely the ending. I love how Gabby just doesn't allow Laura to break her promise of never leaving her behind. It's so sweet and heartwarming. And the final line of this book made me cry a little because it's such a perfect line to end Laura's story with, i'm kinda tearing up again thinking about it!
So that was it for All-New Wolverine, I absolutely loved this run and it's such a perfect follow up to all her previous runs! I'm glad I got to experience this awesome journey she has been on from her first miniseries up until this series. In many ways All-New Wolverine does feel like the endpoint of her "main" story in the sense that she has basically completed her character arc and has become her own person while overcoming all the inner suffering she has dealt with. I'm really excited to read even more of her comics as she has become one of my all time favorite characters!

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (#25-30) "Orphans Of X" & Generations: Wolverine & All-New Wolverine 2017 (#1)
As I'm nearing the end of this run with this second last arc I'm continuing to love absolutely each second reading this run. This arc in particular is incredibly strong and such a perfect sequel to her previous runs!
I really loved the entire story of this arc. It's so well done! It's super intriguing to see what ended up happening to all the victims that Laura and every other Wolverine ever made. It definitely feels like a logical thing to happen. Laura returning to the facility after all those years was such a hardhitting moment, especially because of the art. Seeing her walk through the abadoned halls of the facility while seeing flashbacks of her time between those halls just hit so hard. I was super shocked when her mother showed up but at the same time you just knew there was something off. Which then gets confirmed, I didn't expect it to be a soulless clone controlled from a distance though! Which was a bit haunting and also ironic at the same time, the woman who helped turn a child into a weapon being turned into a weapon herself.
I'm super happy Megan and Deborah have a relatively big role in this arc, i'm so glad they're spending more time of them because we really needed to see their full fledged reunion! The conversation between Laura and Megan at the beach made me tear up a bit because it was a clear parallel to their convo on the docks in X-23: Target X (2006) and it was just so emotional to see them sit down alone together and still have that strong bond despite years having passed and both of them being their own person now. It was such an emotional and heartwarming moment. Their trip to Japan was super cool and fun too! I love how Gabby was so overinvested in the disguises. It was really awesome to see them create a defense against those letal bullets they made from that sword i don't know how to spell properly (it's crazy how many bullets they were able to make out of that sword though!). It was also really compelling to see Gabby experience pain for the first when they take a part of her soul for the armor. The way she couldn't imagine people having to live with pain was so interesting and really adds a lot more perspective to her character. The new suit armor they ended making for Laura was SO COOL. I litterally jumped when I turned the page and they revealed the armor. It looks so badass!
The finale of this arc was incredibly strong. Them learning more about the orphans of x and realizing they're all victims of the same people was so good and super well done. i was so shocked when it was revealed it was Sutter's son who was one of the people behind the organisation and how Amber was the child of a security guard that got killed when Laura killed the presidential candidate back in X-23 (2005). It was so cool how they tied it back all the way to that and how it really adds more perspective to how lethal Laura was during her time at the facility. I really love when they take the time to explore how the victims of Laura's time at the facility ended up. Laura's talk with Sutter was so good and probably the highlight of the arc. I love how how much character development it shows. She no longer blames herself for her time at the facility, she isn't having any of it about anyone putting all the stuff she had to do during that time on her. She rightfully tells all the orphans of x who the real enemy is and how they're all victims of the system (a lot of symbolism here in this part of the arc which i really loved). While also taking responsibility & accountability for who she is used to be and how she wants to make it up and help them put anyone responsible for their hurt behind bars. ITS SO GOOD. I absolutely loved this arc!
The ending of this arc was super emotional too, Sarah Kinney finally getting a funeral. It only takes up one page but it's a super emotional moment that really made me super emotional as well. I also read Generations: Wolverine & All-New Wolverine (2017) while reading this arc. It was a really cool one shot with really amazing art. I loved how it further explored the dynamic between Logan and Laura in such an unique way. Their conversation towards the end of the issue was definitely the highlight for me. Was so interesting to read! So in conclusion this was an absolutely fantastic art with amazing art as this run continues to deliver. The concept of the orphans of x is so good and super well executed, I love how it perfectly builds upon the events of her previous runs and adds ontop of it and continues the story of Laura Kinney in such a perfect way. I'm super sad I only have 5 issues remaining until I'm done with this run but at the same time I can't wait to read them!

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (#19-24) "Immune"
I've arrived on the fourth arc of this run! This arc definitely felt a lot different compared to the rest of the run, especially tonally. It's a lot more serious and grander in scale, but it still retains its comedic aspects.
The beginning of this arc felt really similar to the first arc of Kelly Thompson's Captain Marvel (even though that run came way later than this one so technically it's the opposite way around!) in the sense that we're dealing with Roosevelt Ssland being completely cut off from the rest of the world and it's up to our heroes to figure out everything. The intro leading up to the impact of the alien ship was super cool with the play by play narration. It was also really cool to see Laura and Gabby in their new suits, it makes sense they go for bulletproof suits given how much the bullets slow them down even with a healing factor. I really like how Laura's suit is very much inspired by the X-force look while also being a more casual outfit with the jacket and stuff, it's a super cool design, I absolutely love it! Gabby's new suit also just matches her personality completely. Solid designs all around!
It was really cool to see them slowly uncover the mystery behind the alien saying Laura's name and the virus it carried. I will say the whole healing factor healing everyone part felt kinda messy at times but it did make for a really cool team-up with Laura, Gabby, Deadpool, Old Man Logan and Daken. I really loved that part of this arc and how Iron Heart comments on them all being trained to be weapons and here they are helping everyone. That part was so good and really made the team up hit a lot harder. The friendship between Deadpool and Gabby was so sweet, I really need them to team up again! They're such gremlins together! It was also really heartbreaking to see Gabby being hit with the reality check that she can't save everyone and how serious it all is. It was such a moment for her character because she just completely breaks down and you don't see that often with her. I kind of wished they would've spent more time on it.
The part where they team up with the Guardians Of The Galaxy was when things started taking a crazy turn. I really like Laura's and Gabby's dynamic with them. It was a really fun team up! Also it's so cool how they finally gave Jonathan a translator and how he immediatly thanks Laura and Gabby for taking him in, that was such a wholesome moment. The brood parts made for some really fun action sequences and Gabby defying a brood infection was absolutely crazy to see, considering how usually once infected you're gone. The truth behind the entire situation and virus was also interesting to see play out.
I do feel this arc didn't have the same "vibe" as the other ones. I feel it's partially because Laura is a lot more serious in this arc than the previous one. I do wish they would've opened this arc by continuing her reunion with Megan and Deborah, because I really wanted to see more of that. Especially with how much emotion is behind that moment knowing the entire story behind it.
I do am intrigued as to where things will go from here because it seems as if another shady organization has set their sights on Laura, so it'll be interesting how that will play out!

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (#13-18) "Enemy Of The State II"
As I have arrived at the third arc of this run i'm very happy to see them keep all of Laura's history in mind while actively using it as a foundation for new stories. It was really fun to see all the little callbacks to her previous runs in this arc and how in a lot of ways this arc is a very big full circle moment for her!
I really love how this arc deals with the final pieces of Laura's past that still haunt and control her. It was so cool to see it tie into her older runs so well. Madripoor, Kimura, Gambit, etc… Was super cool to see all of those elements of her 2010 run come back. The opening issue to this arc was so crazy, Laura killing off an entire town was so brutal to see. It was kind of sad to see her completely return to her fight or flight reaction when it comes to being confronted with the trigger scent. Like her planning on leaving Gabby behind even after promising to never leave her earlier in the run in what was a really emotional moment. It truly shows how much trauma and fear the trigger scent instills into her. It was really sweet to see her bring along Gabby regardless though (also extremely funny how the pelican statue travelled with them wherever they went). It was nice to see Madripoor back and all the references to the 2010 X-23 run. I was so hyped when Gambit showed up, it was so cool to see them reunite again! I loved how they finally dealt with the trigger scent and the way Laura overcame it. Jean going into her mind and having a conversation with her mind in the place it goes whenever she gets taken over by the trigger scent is absolutely one of the best moments of this series. Jean's dialogue being the opposite of what Kimura said to her while the Pinocchio symbolism is being told in the background was so good and extremely well executed. I am so happy they remembered the symbolism in that story and how it was utilized in her first ever mini series. And it's such an amazing full circle moment that said pinocchio story is one of the pieces that makes her overcome the final bit of control the facility ever instilled into her. It's super sweet that in retrospect Sarah telling Laura that story had the exact effect she wanted to and more. The entire sequence is genuinely so well written and one of the absolute highlights of this run. It was also so cool to all of her friends team up with her to fight against Kimura, it once again shows how far she has come as a person. I really loved their entire plan. Iron Laura was super cool! Her final fight with Kimura was also just amazing, her finally overcoming her abuser in such a badass way and really showing who she truly is while no longer being affraid of Kimura was such a marvelous moment. I was so happy for her to see that she no longer has to live in fear for her, and that she finally overcame her biggest enemy and source of fear. Her reuniting with Deborah and Megan had me so emotional. I am so so happy she got to reunite with them and that they didn't forgot about them. It was the perfect way to end this arc. I just love that in the end she was able to be reunited with them, no longer having to fear anyone. Their goodbye in X-23: Target X (2006) was such a heartbreaking moment so it's super emotional to see them finally be reunited again after such a long time.
The reveal that Bellona was actually behind the murders in the town was really surprising. And it actually works really well with how Laura's mindset is towards the trigger scent. She feels like she is in a locked room when in reality the door has always been open. Like from the moment she knew they were dropping the trigger scent she incapacitated herself making sure no one would get hurt. She's so much stronger and smarter than she thinks honestly.
I will say, I'm really missing Laura's internal monologue in this. I think especially in this arc it would've added a lot of depth to everything she experiences. But that just a small criticism, I am absolutely loving each page of this run! This run was so amazing in all aspects and it's such an important moment in Laura's history I feel. She goes through a lot of personal development in this and I absolutely loved her overcoming the trigger scent and Kimura, absolute highlights of this run so far! I'm super excited to see where the story goes from here now that the trigger scent and Kimura are gone.

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (#7-12) "Civil War II" & All-New Wolverine Annual 2015 (#1)
As I'm continuing this series I'm having an absolute blast with it! It definitely one of the funniest comic series I've read so far as I have never laughed out loud so much before with a comic. Gabby continues to be absolutely hilarious all while Laura is absolutely thriving!
I love that they keep drawing parallels between Logan's and Laura's relationship and Laura's and Gabby's relationship. These parallels once again made me very emotional becayse you just see how Laura realizes that she is to Gabby what Logan was to her and how she wants to do a better job. I love that they further explore the complicated dynamic between Laura and Logan. The whole alternate timeline logan was also really interesting to see. Especially how Laura experiences the whole situation and stuff. I also really liked the whole angle with predicting future crimes and where Laura stands on acting upon that information. She very much knows that only you make your own future and I love how they show that here. I also really like all the subtle callbacks to her past (comic runs) in this arc. It's really neat to see and I'm glad they're keeping all that stuff in mind. It's so fun to see a mentally healthy Laura who has grown from her past and learned a lot from it use that knowledge to be better. I do kind of wish that they would explore her a bit deeper in this run because I definitely imagine she still has some stuff that haunts her at night and that there are some interesting angles you can explore with her taking on the Wolverine mantle. But perhaps in one of the future arcs that might happen. I can't complain though because i've been having a blast with this run!
Gabby is starting to become a very interesting character, especially with the whole alternate timeline from the old man Logan. I really wonder what the deal was in that timeline and what happened for things to go so wrong. But I love that Laura doesn't give in and believes in Gabby. Because she knows how important that is. Gabby showing her powers and Laura being happy for her was such a sweet moment. They're such an amazing duo!
The team up issue with Squirel Girl was so fun and hilarious. It was such a cool adventure. Jonathan The Wolverine is such an unserious idea but i love it so much. Like a wolverine having a wolverine as pet is so funny i love it! As part of the read through of this run I revisited the All-New Wolverine Annual that I had previously read during my Spider-Gwen read through. It was really fun to revisit it as I had forgotten how funny that issue was. It was super cool coming back to it as the first time I read it, it was basically my introduction to Laura Kinney and what made me want to read her comics. And now she has become my 2nd favorite Marvel character next to Spider-Gwen so it's incredibly cool to see my two favorites team up like that! This was a really solid 2nd arc with a nice balance of endearing, funny and serious moments. I really think this run balances all the different tones it wants to hit quite nicely which makes for a very enjoyable reading experience. I'm absolutely loving this run! I do wish they would go deeper in exploring Laura and Gabby as characters but perhaps that's something for a future arc!

My thoughts on... All-New Wolverine 2015 (#1-6) "The Four Sisters"
It's time for more Laura Kinney as I start All-New Wolverine! This run has been on my list ever since I read All-New Wolverine Annual #1 as part of my read of Spider-Gwen 2015. So I'm super excited to dive into this run, especially after having read her previous X-23 mini series and ongoing. She's fastly becoming one of my all time favorite characters as I read through all her comics!
I really liked this first arc a lot! The mystery surrounding the four sisters was so cool and even after this arc it seems that there still are some things that they're hiding. Super excited to see where it'll all go. Seeing Laura in action as Wolverine was so awesome, I really like how they draw action and fight scenes in this. It's so clean! Not mention how badass her Wolverine suit looks. I also love how much Laura has grown, you can clearly see that she's in a much better place mentally than how she used to be. Like she has had so much growth and i'm so happy for her that she finally gets to live a relatively healthy life without constantly being tormented by her own mind. It's also interesting that she has a no kill rule now. I wonder if she'll keep that up or if she will end up breaking it. The little flashback in the first issue between her and Wolverine was super sweet and I teared up when they mirrored that flashback with Laura and Gabby. It's such a strong moment because Laura has been through so much and now she finally is free from all that and she knows she can help someone else who went through the same things as her and prevent them from going through the same trauma's and mistakes as she did. Another reason it hit so hard was because Laura is literally talking to a clone of herself that that's mentally a lot healthier than her and didn't have to go through so much gruesome things (even though she still very much went through a lot of very terrible stuff). It must be really hardhitting for her to see a younger version of herself that's happy and content and isn't constantly suffering. it also makes we wonder if that will affect Laura in the sense that she sees this younger version of herself that also went through a lot of terrible stuff but ended up being a happy and good person, whereas Laura didn't in her own eyes. A lot of people told her that her past isn't her fault but I wonder if she will think otherwise after seeing Gabby go through similar stuff and ending up being a lot happier and well adjusted. But that's just a bit of speculating on my part. Who knows, maybe Gabby is going through some tough stuff we don't know about yet. But all by all It's such a hardhitting moment for so many reasons and also such a full circle moment for Laura, genuinely my favorite moment of this first arc I think. Laura's confrontation with Chandler was also so awesome and badass, such an amazing moment for her.
Speaking of Gabby, she's so much fun! She's such a top tier character already. She has so many memorable moments in these first few issues. I am so excited to see the dynamic between Laura and Gabby evolve throughout this run because it's so good already. Also it seems like she inherited the claw(s?) from Wolverine despite it being claimed that they didn't. Excited to see what's that all about.
The reveal that the sisters were working for Kimura all along is so insane though, really caught me off guard. Super excited to see where that will go! I also really liked the small team-ups Laura had with Dr. Strange and The Wasp. They were very cool moments, especially with how all of the sisters reacted to it. Them being weirded out by the sanctum was so funny. I also really how these team-ups show growth in Laura's character, she finally is able to reach out for help and not just do things on her own anymore. It's so great to see how much she has grown as a person. So that's it for this first arc. This was such a fun start for this series and I'm super excited to see how it continues. I'm absolutely loving it already!

My thoughts on... Avengers Arena 2012 (#13-18) "Boss Level"
It's time for the final few issues of this run! Going in I was super excited and intrigued to how it would all end. It definitely was an epic finale although some parts could've been better. I really loved the Avengers Academy focused issue. It was so nice to see a few cameos and what they've been up to. It really felt like some sort of epilogue issue to the Avengers Academy series. I do wish that this issue would've led to anything, instead of being one big explanation as for why no one is looking for them. I think a really cool story could've been done with the Avengers Academy trying to figure out what's going on and slowly discovering Murderworld. But regardless, it was a fun issue! Once again, some of the characters get some amazing arcs in this. The standout for me in these few issues definitely was Nara. She gets super interesting exploration in this which really elevates her character arc so much. It really made her one of my favorite characters from this run. I also loved how Becca got some great development in this too by finally being able to stand up to Katy. Was a really great moment. The buildup to the finale and everyone fighting each other was interesting. Some of it made a lot of sense but other things felt like they came out of nowhere for the sake of creating conflict so everyone would fight each other. I really wish this buildup would've been better as the final fight with everyone fighting each other is incredibly cool. Especially the X-23 vs Hazmat fight! I do wish that they would've used Katy and Becca being outside of Murderworld to show us what's going on behind the scenes and gives us some explanations. Sadly the run ends with a lot of unanswered questions regarding Murderworld such as what the plan was with the dead bodies. I really didn't like how it hastingly ended with the Avengers and SHIELD showing up and everyone getting evacuated. I understand that there is a sequel to this called Avengers Undercover but still, they should've wrapped up things way better and give more conclusive answers to a lot of stuff regarding Murderworld. This series was a super fun read and a really cool concept. It was very fun to see everything unfold. I do wish they would've sticked the landing better but in the end it's a still a super fun run with tons of incredibly cool moments and awesome character work! I'm looking forward to see what Avengers Undercover has to offer!

My thoughts on... Avengers Arena 2012 (#7-12) "Game On"
As this series progresses things get a lot more tense and some crazy reveals are starting to happen! After this second arc i'm really curious to see how everything will end! The series continues to deliver on exploring the characters on a more personal level while still being able to balance the overarching story and all other characters nicely. Laura Kinney especially had some interesting exploration in these few issues. I liked how we got to see how she struggles with intrusive thoughts regarding analyzing each situation as to how to kill everyone the quickest and most efficient. Was a really interesting angle for sure. Katy too had some interesting and unexpected development in this. I didn't expect her to turn out to be that crazy, and that she and her brother are in one body. I like how with her brother he seems like an innocent guy at first, but in the end he keeps his sister safe to protect himself which was really interesting to see. Seeing Katy kill Juston was really sad though. The Avengers Academy are really taking some hits in this. Hazmat had a really interesting character arc in these few issues. Her being unable to face reality anymore and dive into nihilism after Mettle's death was an interesting direction for her. I loved how she regained her fighting spirit again after Reptil had a heartfelt conversation with her. Was really sweet to see the Avengers Academy members look out for each other like that. The standout moment of this arc was definitely Nico's resurection. I was super shocked to see her die in such a brutal fashion. But seeing her revive herself with her magic in such an awesome and badass way was just incredible. Especially the fight that came after it. It was super hype and just such an amazing moment. The end of #12 really caught me off guard. I really wonder what Arcade's plan is with the dead bodies. He seems to be turning them into cyborgs of some sort, especially with Mettle. I really wonder where that storyline will evolve into. Speaking of Arcade, it was nice to see some more development for him and discover who he is behind the façade he puts on. It really adds a lot his characterization a ton. If there is one nitpick I have, it's that I am confused as to why Katy didn't kill everyone in their sleep when she had the chance to instead of retreating to rebuild the sentry. Seems a bit weird. This series continues to deliver and really manages to balance everything so well! I'm really excited to see where everything will go from here and how it'll end!

My thoughts on... Avengers Arena 2012 (#1-6) "Kill Or Die"
So after reading through Avengers Academy and the X-23 comics I was very excited to start this series! It's really nice to catch up again with the cast of Avengers Academy as they're a really fun group. Although the fun didn't last long as they were put in a killing game! When I first learned about this series I was very surprised about Marvel doing a Hunger Games-style comic with a bunch of their young heroes, but I was also very intrigued. And so far it hasn't dissapointed! The first issue alone had me shook when they killed off Mettle. A really sad moment honestly, everytime Mettle and Hazmat find some sense of peace and happiness with each other it gets ripped away from them. It was really gutwrenching to watch how Mettle exploded in mere seconds. Red Raven was also a character that didn't survive the first issue. I really wish she would've because her design is really cool! It was also very interesting to meet other unfamiliar characters, such as the Braddock Academy. I really love how at first they kind of seem to mirror the Avengers Academy. But then as you get to know them it turns out they're all horrible people who hate each others guts. Kid Briton especially. When you first meet him, you think he's this likeable guy but then as the story progresses you really come to learn how messed up, terrible and self centered he is in all the worst way. Although in the end he didn't survive the first 6 issues as well. But I really loved how they set up the Braddock Academy and subverted expectations with it. Another really cool thing about this series is how besides all the craziness of a killing game, they still make time to explore some of the characters on a more personal level. Rebecca Ryker and Chase Stein especially stood out. They both had some very interesting exploration in this. With Rebecca you have this seemingly innocent girl who went through a lot and really is in over her head in this killing game while seemingly having a secret darker side. I'm really intrigued as to where that storyline will go. And with Chase you have someone who's more affraid of winning that dying, which I found to be a really interesting mindset. And they explored it super well! It was really nice to see the Avengers Academy group up and take care for each other even though Hazmat is very on edge due to what happened to Mettle. I didn't like how they acted towards the Runaway members in the game though. They've been through some stuff together and litterally have stood in each others shoes, yet the Avengers Academy members really don't treat them in the right way and trust them a lot less than they should've. It was kind of sad to see the Runaways get chased away like that by them. I'm also very worried for Laura Kinney as she's been exposed to a seemingly new version of the trigger scent, so I wonder what's going to end up happening to her. The preview of day 29 in the first issue doesn't seem to indicate she will be affected by the trigger scent for a long time! These first 6 issues were a strong start for this series. Each issue left me wanting to read more immediatly and it hooks you so well into the story. They balance all the different groups really well while still making them to explore characters on a personal level. It's going to be interesting to see how things will evolve from here on out. Especially with the Braddock Academy being at each others throats and a trigger scent exposed Laura running loose.

My thoughts on... X-23: Deadly Regenesis 2023 (#1-5)
As I'm continuing my read through of the X-23 comics, it's time for X-23: Deadly Regenesis! This mini takes place between the first few issues of the 2010 X-23 run and fills up some gaps. It was really interesting to see how it showed us more of what Laura was doing on the road before Gambit teamed up with her and what she was dealing with.
I really liked how it explored more of her time on the road after leaving Utopia while also having more tidbits of her at the facility with Kimura. It was really neat to have more exploration of that. Especially with Kimura, because I feel like she's Laura's nemesis and she really deserves more exploration because of that. So i'm glad we got to see more of their dynamic in this and be explored more. I also loved how this mini gave more gravitas to all the killing Laura has done during her time at the facility by showing what impact it had on innocent people through the story of Haymaker. I do wish they had leaned into that angle more. But more on that later. Something I also really loved is how well this mini ties into Laura's other stories during this time period. Especially Liu's run of X-23!
I also liked how this story revolved around Kingpin wanting Laura back for his own plans. It's a nice butterfly effect from her time at the facility. And I think it makes a lot of sense to have buyers from then try to hunt her down. I will say, It was kind of weird to see the absence of the trigger scent in this and instead there being a chemical that temporarily removes her healing factor. Especially because they want Laura due to what she can do and they need to condition her again to make her do those things again. So it's really weird to see them not opt to use the trigger scent to make her comply. I'm a bit conflicted as to how I feel on Laura's characterization in this. One on hand I feel it's very in line with how she was during the time this mini takes place and expands upon some of it. I really loved the whole thing of her being able to heal physical wounds but not mental ones angle they had going on. And how she questions if her actions after leaving the facility were any different from her time during. Was a really interesting thought Laura was dealing with. Although I think they should've gone deeper with everything especially given her mental state during that time. I do love how a lot of Laura's dialogue in this is internal monologue, because during the timeperiod of this mini she really wasn't very talkative. I love that they kept that in mind. One the other hand I feel some of her characterization in this isn't really in line with how she was during that time or isn't really consistent. Especially the whole heroism thing and her thoughts regarding killing. I feel like during this time period she wasn't really busy thinking about being an actual hero but more about finding herself and becomming a better person, I did like the tidbits where she finds herself not to be worthy of being called a hero because those parts are very in line with how she was at that time and how she viewed herself. Her thoughts on killing are very weird in this, some of it is in line with how she was at the time but some of it is really isn't. Like she spares all of Kingpin's guards but feels like Kingpin himself deserves to be killed. It was really weird to see her conciously decide to spare his guards because I feel like it's definitely something she wouldn't have done. Her dynamic with Haymaker is also a bit strange and a missed opportunity. In Liu's run you see her struggle quite a lot trying to face the victim of whom she killed the parents of. And here she kinda gets over it quite fast. I wished they would've spent more time on exploring her guilt and what seeing a victim of her past does to her. As I mentioned before I really liked Haymaker, it's a character that gives Laura's past as a weapon a lot more gravitas and allows you to see how much it affected innocent people's lives. They're an interesting character for sure. I mentioned I found Laura's dynamic with them a bit strange, but the opposite direction is also true. Haymaker gets over Laura being responsible for a lot of their suffering quite fast and isn't really reluctant to team up with her. I feel that a lot more time should've been spent on their dynamic as they could have done some interesting stuff with it.
All by all I feel like this was a pretty fun read with some really interesting and intriguing tidbits for Laura as a character while also filling in some gaps in her story. I really loved the parts they expanded upon in her characterization while I do wish some of her other characterization in this was more consistent with how she was during the time period this mini took place in. Haymaker was a very interesting character and a good addition but I do feel their dynamic with Laura needed a lot more exploration and focus. The overall story was really interesting, dealing with both Kimura returning and Fisk wanting Laura back as his personal assasin. It definitely felt like a natural story in Laura's continuity and not something that feels out of place. Especially with how much it ties into Liu's X-23 run, something that I really appreciate!

My favorite quotes from... X-23 (2010)
"The first thing you learn is how to be alone. You learn or suffer. It is an easy lesson. You suffer more when people are around. People make you feel alone. And loneliness is a quiet wound." -Laura Kinney "I am not alone, I am not empty. There is a light inside me. I caught a glimpse of it. I held it. And I will find it again." -Laura Kinney
"I am not a thing…why… did no one ever see that? How could they look at me…and hurt me like they did? How was that possible? How? What was wrong with them? How could they? How could I?" -Laura Kinney
"Fill your heart with better memories. Better actions. Better friends. That's all any of us can do." -James Howlett
"Life is beautiful. It's beautiful. And ugly, and crazy… but it's mostly just beautiful. We can do anything. We can be anyone. That's the definition of being alive. That's magic" -Jubilation Lee

My thoughts on... X-23 2010B (afterword)
So I've finally finished this run! This was an incredible ride full with hardhitting emotional moments, amazing character development and exploration and just outstanding art. I really loved my time reading this run. Laura Kinney is fastly becomming one of my favorite characters! She's definitely a character that has really resonated with me. As i've mentioned before Laura Kinney has been a character I've been wanting to learn more about for quite some time now. And I'm super happy I finally got the chance to do that as I'm reading through her comics. She's a very complex and intriguing character with a lot of depth to her which I really love. And that depth and complexity gets explored in this run so well, and in such a hardhitting way. I think we really need more comics that are so character driven and focussed while realling exploring the characters and what they have to offer to the fullest. This run does all of this so perfectly. It was interesting to see how Laura views herself and the world around her. And how her past trauma shaped those views. All while she's trying to be better and become her own person. It was executed so well and you really get to understand Laura on a very deep level. What I also really love about this series is how much Laura evolves as a person and character. Comparing her to how she is in X-23 2010A #1 to how she towards the end of X-23 2010B is such a stark contrast in a good way. She's really healed her mental wounds (for the most part) and became her own person all while developing a healthier mindset and her own set of morals. She really comes into her own in this run and it's just so beautiful to see that development for her. She has come a long way from who she used to be and it's just so cool to witness the journey she goes on as she becomes her own person and goes through such an evolution. It makes me really excited to read what's next to her as it's very much an ongoing journey that never stops (as it is with basically every person). The roadtrip vibes this run had were also pretty fun and really made every arc feel as if it's its own adventure all while still being very much a character driven story. It was really fun to see her travel around the world with Gambit all while dealing with her past and her own inner demons. Her dynamic with Gambit was really fun. He feels like the only person from the X-Men that really seems to understand her and is able to connect with her. It's really sweet how much he cares about her and wants to help her on her journey of becomming her own person. Wolverine and Jubilee were also very good additions to this run, especially given their interesting dynamics with Laura. Like Laura has a bit of a complicated bond with Wolverine for quite a few reasons and I love how this run touches upon that a bit. With Jubilee it gave Laura an unlikely friendship, something she really needed. I really loved how Jubilee taught Laura all about life and what it means to live. Was definitely a highlight moment for me in this run, especially with how much it does for Laura as a character. They're a very fun duo and I hope to see them team up again in the future! The art in this run is also something that needs to be mentioned. It was absolutely incredible! It really captured the vibe of the run very well. I absolutely loved this run, it was such an amazing experience start to finish. It was so nice to learn so much about Laura in such an in depth way and really understand her on such a deep level. She's really becomming one of my favorite characters and I'm just super excited to read all of her other comics! This run also introduced me to a bunch of other awesome characters I really want to learn more about at some point! I'm sad that my time with this run is over but I absolutely loved every second reading it!

My thoughts on... X-23 2010B (#20-21) "Girls Night Out"
I've come to the end of this run! This run has been an incredible experience and I'm super glad I got to read it. The way they closed it out was very unique!
These final two issues were very interesting and intriguing! Black Widow shadowing Laura was really surprising and it makes me wonder if she was the mysterious woman back in Paris who gave her the enveloppe. It was cool to see her show up though. Also kind of funny that she's the one inviting her to Avengers Academy, considering she was never on the faculity nor did she ever make an appearance in that run (as far as I can remember). It was also nice seeing Jubilee back because they have a really sweet friendship. It was super cool to see them team up again and deal with Laura's past one final time. It's a nice full circle moment for her time in New York. And a perfect way to close off her journey in that city. The final issue of this run was something very unique. It's the first comic I've read that just had zero dialogue or monologue in it. Just art and that's it. And it works really really well. Very strong storytelling. It's such a cool segway to her joining the Avengers Academy. You litterally see her on the journey to her way there and everything she experiences along the way. I absolutely love the symbolic fight she has with the dark version of herself, the way she first fights it and then realizes that the darkness within her comes from all the pain, suffering, trauma and all the other messed up stuff she went through. To ultimately forgiving that part of her and accepting it. At least that's my intrepetation of it. That's what's really cool about this final issue, there is a lot of room for your own intrepetations which I really love. The run just ends with the perfect sentence "the end and the beginning". Because she's closing off this really big chapter of her life in which she went through a lot and also had a lot of character development and really grew as a person in so many ways, causing her to finally be her own person and being a completely different person than she once was in so many good ways. It's the end of that long journey for her but also the beginning of a new start in which she can finally live her life to the fullest, knowing who she is and wants to be. Finally being able to move on from her past and start a new beginning. It's a super beautiful ending for her in this run. And one that is very fitting. This run has been absolutely phenominal in all aspects. It completely blew me away on multiple occasions and I'm really happy I got to read this. It was an amazing journey and I really can't wait to read what's next for Laura!
