tips on dressing scene without being obliberated by my family >.<

oooof family can suk when it comez to style!!

1. skinny jeans. the more colorful the bettr, but if that’s not allowed even black skinny jeans are gr8! i also luv how tights + a skirt can look, but it can get tricky with skirt length

2. graphic tees! could b 4 anything, as long as it has a kewl design and u like it, it’s gr8! the more form fitting the shirt the more classically scene it wuld b, but the more u make a style ur own, the bettr!

3. kandi/bracelets! if ur parentz don’t want u 2 wear spiky bracelets or smth, u can always make ur own! say it’s a friendship bracket or something, or give it some special meaning! a ton of brackets on the arms r soo scene :3

4. hoodiez! i almost alwayz wear a zip-up hoodie with my outfits, and not even necessarily bright colored onez! black zip-up hoodies work with rlly anything, but statement hoodies r also amazingg!! any brightly colored hoodie or if it haz a fun pattern omg!! gr8!

5. shoes. i usually will just wear any kind of converse, the more colorful the bettr! i also luv ballet flats, if u can find them! but once again what rlly matters is if U feel comfortable and happy!

6. layering. layering saves me so muchhh, if you hav a colorful long-sleeved undershirt u could wear a band tee over it or a tank top! i luv to wear tank tops, even plain ones r gr8

i’m srry if this wasn’t gr8 4 dealing w strict parents, mine r (luckily) supportive ov me n my style :DD

if what ur worried about it being made fun of, than remember that ur style is u!! it’s expressing urself, and that’s amazing and takes courage 2 do!

just remember that no mattr how scene u dress, it doesn’t affect how scene u r!! parentz can suk but scene will nevrr die!!

Hiya!! Love the page, super nostalgia trip! Just curious, is scene making a comeback?? I'm 29, so I was VERY familiar with the style lol. Honestly, I feel like it was largely unappreciated for its time.

hi! thank you for the ask! ^^ I think scene is making a comeback, especially with the internet (mainly tumblr and tiktok). People that kept the style alive can use their platform to make younger people interested in the subculture! Scene hasn’t risen to the popularity it once was, but i do think it has made/started to make a comeback!

I’d love to use any of your old pictures that you’d let me! XD
