Was scrolling through Splintered tags and saw this again. I’ll never not laugh at Alyssa’s expression here, haha. I’m usually not a fanfic person, but I would so read about this AU (hint, hint), it’s such a great premise, really. The role of a nude model would suit Morpheus perfectly, what with his “if you have it, flaunt it” attitude.

I just wanted to tell you that your art has improved SO much since I first followed you, and I'm so proud of you. I initially followed you because I thought the visions you portrayed of the Splintered characters were beautiful and passionate. I've loved watching your work grow and improve, and I'm so grateful you continue to bring these gifts and reignite the magic of the series. I can reread the books a million times but your recreations bring a whole different type of emotion to everything that the books mean to me. 🥰🥰🥰

Thank you so much for the kind words! This series is why I started drawing in the first place. And though I wasn’t active in the past two years or so or done any art that I can post, but I’m not giving up on drawing these characters. Morpheus won’t let me do it anyway, lol. He is a very demanding and stubborn muse, you know ;) So I’m going to put effort to improve my skills further.

What is your drawing process? Plus what is your opinion on Jeb?

I don’t have a set drawing process, I like to try new things every time, so it may vary, but there are also a few things in common. I make a (very messy) sketch first and then keep cleaning it up and building on it. Often I do some sort of line art over it, so I lower the sketch layer to, say, 40 % opacity, but never completely erase it, especially on the face. Another thing is I always use textures for colouring in different layer modes. As for Jeb, my relationship with him is … difficult. Haha) Basically, I’m a Morpheus empath, and I see the story through his eyes instead of Alyssa’s. So, Jeb annoyed me a lot in the first two books like he did Morpheus, but eventually I learned to deal with his role in the story and tolerate him in Alyssa’s life. And I can’t deny that the love triangle gave lots of suspense to the story)) Honestly, it would be easier for me to answer more concrete questions about his character (or any character), like, certain situations, choices, reactions and such.

Love this! Since Alyssa has a red streak in her hair here, makes me think it is one of the times when Morpheus visited her dreams right before the beginning of Unhinged and took her to Wonderland ;)

Fun fact: the name Alyssa comes from the alyssum flower, the name of which is derived from Greek ἀ (a), a negative prefix, combined with λύσσα (lyssa) meaning "madness, rabies", since it was believed to cure madness.

Which is really cool when you consider everything that happens to Alyssa in the splintered saga.
