He’s looked at it from all the angles he could and no matter what perspective he takes, he always ends up here. He is needed sure, but not as he is. He took the antagonist persona too far, and now the only one who actually listens to him is Thomas, and thats only until the others come and get him to ignore his warnings. Maybe it would be best if he let himself fade, let himself fall back into the darkness of the subconscious and leave behind nothing but fight or flight.

Post accepting anxiety part one, but before part two, Virgil struggles with whether or not he’s necessary enough to stick around.

He had tried being friendly, he had tried suggesting what they needed to change. But none of that had worked. None of that had worked and Thomas kept getting hurt, and so he changed tactics, and surprisingly, it had worked. And that was good. He was finally being noticed. But it was achingly, desperately lonely.

Pre Accepting Anxiety, Virgil struggles with the need to be liked versus the need to be heard. Patton helps him bridge the gap.
