So it’s been a long time since I did my big original hi this is Suzi post! And I though an update might be due. So since accepting my fluidity and rejecting the shame, I’ve been motivated to be myself more and more.

Quick word on shame, I have lived with the shame of being who I am and I’ve had it for years as a secret. By nature, a secret is something you don’t want others to know. It breeds fear of being found out, it must be hidden at all costs; this of course is incompatible with wanting to be you.

If you are serious about riding yourself of shame then I have a couple of tips. Firstly, accept yourself and know that you have every right to exist. Love yourself because you are lovely! Then tell people! It’s freaking hard but just commit to doing it! Set an intention. I told two friends one on one and they were both super excited for me! It was so supportive. I’ve since told practically everyone - some people have not been as supportive. Those people are in my life a lot less; I don’t need their approval and I love myself enough to cope with that.

I’ve started to suffer a degree of gender dysphoria and my acceptance of Suzi is moving strongly towards being transgender. I’m excited, of course I’m also scared; it’s huge!

Anyway, this weekend I’m spending 3 days straight at WOMAD NZ to see if I’m desperate to be a girl again by the end! Day 2 and I’m so happy! I don’t pass I know and I haven’t worked out how to blend a wigline but I’m so happy to be me. Most surprising, people, everyday people, milling around the festival couldn’t give a fuck!

Be brave - it’s fucking amazing and liberating!

i want to take the time to inform people about something that has happened a few months ago and i will not let this person’s life be swept under the rug. this story is about a trans woman who was arrested for no reason.

here is her letter:
