Chief McGinnis was the first one to exit his vehicle and make his way through the Drew’s polished lawn to where Nancy was sitting. The other officers remained on the street, answering questions and keeping the crowd at bay. 

“Tell me what happened,” he said without greeting. 

Nancy met his slate gray eyes. “I don’t know,” she said, trying to swallow the lump in her throat, “but he’s gone.”

But when the death threats begin to surface and things take a turn for the worst, Nancy is forced to confront the feelings she’d long forgotten existed. 

notes –– hi friends! me again! a long time ago, i was toying with the idea of writing a longer fanfiction that focused on nancy and ned’s relationship. seeing as how i can’t ever write anything without angst (or frank hardy, for that matter), i figured i’d go for it. it’s rated m for mature; coming soon to an ao3 near you!

project NDAE - the redux [???]

hi friends ––

i was talking with @bayports and some other folks in my server and thought it would be a good [subjective] idea to bring back the NDAE project that i started a long time ago ... just for funsies !! 

if you weren’t around back then, or simply don’t remember, project NDAE [nancy drew alternate endings] was a collection of short stories in the form of alternate endings from ANY of the 33 nancy drew games. this was hugely popular on the herinteractive community boards and i used to have a lot of fun putting my fun spin on the games and the characters. so, why not bring it here?

the “rules” or guidelines are fairly simple:

choose ONE of the nancy drew games and write an alternate ending of your choosing. word count, ratings, subject content, etc. does NOT matter as long as you use appropriate tagging/flagging systems as appropriate. 

only use CANON characters (as in, no made up or original characters, or characters from another fandom/universe) and locations featured in the games and/or canon world (as in, don’t send them to the jakku or something).

that’s it !! we can revive the old hashtag #projectNDAE and when people are finished, i can comprise a list of the completed AEs so they’re all in one place. 

hopefully this will be a fun way to churn content for our [lovingly] dying fandom in light of MID and everything else that has happened. stay safe, stay warm [if it’s cold where you are] and DM me with any questions !! ok have fun
