This random, but I was thinking of Dean killing Amy today and it occurred to me that Dean just...leaving this child alone could've ended badly if social services got involved because people saw this young child alone. The kid could be sent to people who don't know what he is and wouldn't understand him. I know that the kid said he had someone that he could go to, but....Dean didn't know that at the time. It will also be "interesting" how Amy deserved to die for doing whatever she could to save her child, but Dean became best friends with a vampire.
Yep no one ever talks about the impact this had on some of the characters. Dean was often hypocritical but somehow this always worked out fine in the narrative. It always irritated me they always wrote him as "being right" no matter what. In every moral argument Sam and Dean have, Dean is always made the one to be right.

they said jensen you look like a walking cadaver at the ripe old age of 35 we can't have you play your younger self with that beastly face. break out the aggressive skin blurring filters and make those pupils disconcertingly large and in charge, or we'll never sell this shit!

but it is--bobby's speech to his dad is to me in a rank with some of the most skin-peeling of the 'let us explain to you the meaning and motivations of this emotionally climactic scene out loud very explicitly twice' scenes which makes it a bit of a tough one. BUT. fascinating to me the choice of the word "ungrateful."
