Hi! I'm 26 years old and a college graduate working to become a Bioarchaeologist. I love all things related to Bioarcaeology, archaeology and Science. So expect a lot of that here. I'm also part of the fandoms of Elena of Avalor, Tangled the Series, The Lion Guard/Lion King franchise and Frozen. I don't ship often, but I ship Vexian (Varian x Vex) in TTS and Carteo (Carla x Mateo) in Elena of Avalor. Consider this blog a SAFE SPACE for Carteo shippers. Anybody who ships Carteo or likes the ship can feel free to share any of their thoughts, ideas, Or headcanons for this pairing with me. I know I ship two rare pairs, but that's part of what I want to see on this blog! If there are any Vexian or Carteo shippers here, I want to hear from you! NO Carteo hate or negativity on this blog, please! Even if you don't ship Carteo, feel free to come onto my blog and discuss ANYTHING regarding Elena of Avalor. We all love this show and I'm willing to welcome anyone on here, regardless of shipping preferences. All I ask is no negativity about the ships that I love. Expect a lot of character analyses on the characters of Elena and Avalor and Tangled the Series. Expect a lot of salt at times. But also expect me to go into rants about how much I love some of these characters and their arcs;)
Hello everyone. As you probably surmised from the title, me and my co-writer have a Carteo story in the works. It is going to be a huge romance/action/adventure story, featuring the titular couple facing magical foes of all kinds as they grow individually and together. I was not going to announce it this early if at all. Me and my co-writer are still very much in the outlining phase.
My co-writer has also been struggling with his job and a lot of personal life issues lately, so it is hard to say exactly when our story will be finished. However, the two of us are putting a lot of effort into this story to make it an epic, monumental adventure for Carla, Mateo and Avalor. As such, I am reaching out to the fandom for anybody who has extensively researched Avalor’s geographical layout, magic system, or Avaloran society in general. I also want to encourage any Latino fans to approach me as well. I want to stay as true to our beloved show and Latin American culture as possible. Any advice or suggestions on how to do that is always welcome and appreciated. EDIT: If you are interested, feel free to reach out to me through the message feature, commenting below, or anyway that is preferable to you.
With the rise of antisemitism, and one of my favorite things about my Muslim faith being zakat(prescribed charity giving), what are some charities you would like me to give to in these trying times?
I've seen plenty of places to donate to help Palestinians, but I haven't seen anything to help any of you Jews that are facing antisemitism as backlash to all of this.
Forgive me if it has passed, but I know it's around Passover(I believe that's the holiday going on right around now?) And I'm sure there are Synagogues or Jewish charities that could use some donations.(at least I think. I know that Churches and Christian charities take donations around Christmas and Easter.)
I'd truly like to help all who are affected by this war. Whether it be Isreali Jews in Isreal, or diaspora Jews(I think that's the term? What I mean is, Jews who do not live in Isreal) who are struggling with increased antisemitism.
No charity is too niche, though I may not be able to donate to all of them, as I am on SSDI(a form of disability) so it's not like I have hundreds or thousands to throw around. But I know that anything can help.
Love, your friendly disabled queer Muslim with all the questions.
The character is not you, stop taking things other people say about the character, or if they write character not acting like you in a situation as a personal attack
I’ve seen a lot of posts from fellow Jews about how hard it feels to observe Pesach this year, how it even feels wrong while there are Jews being held in captivity right now.
I would argue that’s the very point of Pesach, and observing it has never been more appropriate than it is now.
The first Seder was not a celebration of a victory already won. The first Seder was held by the Jews while we were still in Egypt, while we were all still enslaved, huddled inside with lambs blood on our doorposts. We were anticipating imminent departure from Egypt, but it hadn’t happened yet and we had no way of knowing if it would.
Pesach is not an after-the-fact celebration of finally being out of danger. The origin of the Seder is a deliberately premature celebration, a demonstration that we have so much faith in G-d saving us that we act as if it’s already happened.
We don’t have the Seder because we are finally free. We have the Seder as a show of faith that we will be, no matter how unlikely it seems.
The story Brave isn't just about a young Scottish princess standing up to fate, turning her mum into a bear and fighting a demon bear. Its about how a mother and daughter come together, while forming a much stranger bound. So if you are having troubles with your mum, just remember Merida's story and you'll be together again.
‘don’t you want your favourite character to be happy???’ no? i want my favourite character to be interesting. i want me to be happy. which sometimes involves my favourite character being in exquisite agony
"There are those who say fate is something beyond our command. That destiny is not our own. But I know better. Our fate lives within us. You only have to be brave enough to see it."
