S3 so far has been spectacularly disapponting. E6 is so bad. I don't understand what's the point of watching a show called Resident Alien if it's just two sloppily defined angry women with rapidly diminishing friendly chemistry trying to figure out their freaking love life, and then them both dismissing the main character or treating him like a nuisance. It's so unpleasant. If I wanted a show where everybody hated everybody I'd watch reality TV. The plot is moving absolutely nowhere, the characters are actively regressing. I cannot stand Darcy anymore, she has no character arc and is painfully disinteresting. Asta has been downright MALIGNANT. The humour is downhill too. Don't know what's going on, but so far to me it seems like the showrunners are an extremely talented bunch. Talented in wasting potential that is. How did they have such a strong s1 start and then pissed it all away that quickly? S2 was extremely messy, but s3 is actually a waste of my time. After watching e6 I would honestly like the 40 minutes I spent on it back please. And it's so upsetting, because Tudyk is brilliant and it's so rare to see him as a lead, and Sara Tomko is also great, and I love Corey Reynolds, he's hysterical. Man. How terribly, terribly disappointing. I'm sad :(

Okay gang….what did we think of the new episode tonight? Personally I think the story writing is going downhill and I don’t like what they’re doing with Harry and Astas dynamic, BUT GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS

I saw a post somewhere about Asta x Harry in the show being an example of straight baiting, and that made me think.

Is it really a straight ship? Harry is genderless and non-human. We've seen in the show that he can take any human form, and the only reason he took the form of the original Harry V. was because he killed him.

Also, there's a level of queerness when one half of the ship is a completely non-human species. I saw a comment in a forum that stated they're incompatible in the way a straight woman and gay man are (say what????). Even though Harry has been shown with multiple human females.

It makes me wonder if the mainstream audience really sees Harry as too queer for her.

I used to hate drawing humans, but now I freaking love rewatching the same gif of one actor moving their face over and over again and mapping a 3d model of their head in my mind, especially if it's an actor with a less convenient facial structure, like Alan Tudyk for example. Like he is just so intensely interesting to look at, with how he has extremely high very prominent cheekbones, but you can't see them at all because he has those hypetrofied masseters, and instead of a downward slope towards his jaw it's actually an upwards slope. Human faces are sooooooo so curious to study (spoken like a true alien)
