me: *feels incredibly salty when in book 6 when Harry gets a whiff of that love potion thingy in Slughorn's class he thinks of G/nny and her floral scent or something????*

SINCE WHEN???? SINCE WHEN HAS HE BEEN INTO G/NNY? since he feels disappointed on the train at the beginning of book 6 that G/nny usually hangs out with a different set of friends then him and Ron and Hermione???

since he thinks about her in the potions class when he smells the floral scent?????

it's not at all like he and Hermione were laughing together and making jokes about Fleur most of the scenes we see of the burrow or anything. you know, the only bit of bonding or interacting Harry and G/nny do over the summer. nah. that's just me reading into the book what I want to see. yep. it's not like G/nny and Harry get alone time over the summer of sixth year. nope. they're always together with the group. the most they exchange one on one is a joke about Fleur being the worst. they like share making gagging faces across the kitchen.

it's not as if G/nny and Harry don't interact alone or have any significant moments before book 6 TELLS us in retrospective that they did.

yep. he's just gotten over Cho I guess. if you ask me, Harry's type is "pretty" girls because he's got all the substance he needs in his friendship with Hermione. is that a weird thought? I'm not saying Hermione is ugly. she's just not described as being gorgeous and super attractive like some of the other female characters. I'm convinced that Harry's type is "attractive" girls because the only thing Cho and G/nny have in common are being quidditch players and being excessively pretty (in the book description). oh, and you know, having zero in common with him 👌👌

they have the most ship interaction, even if you want to compare it to Ron and Harry.

Ron leaves him in both book 4 and 7 because of jealousy. Ron spends his time mopping in books (all of them?) 3, 5, and 6 when Harry needs attention.

even though Harry and Ron are best friends and go to an extra class together and share a dorm room, canon doesn't give their relationship the premium spot. you know what I mean?????

Harry goes out of his way to interact with Hermione. sit by her in the library, common room, at meals. he tells her about his problems: like about Cho, or about Snape, or about Sirius. even when he feels harassed by her nagging, he still talks to her. he's always petting Crookshanks and letting the cat onto his lap. let's see... in book 4 he can't appreciate her enough for believing him off the bat after his name is pulled from the goblet. he spends all of his time with her while Ron is ignoring him. he almost throttles Draco when the slytherin insults her during a potions class. he doesn't want to leave her in the lake (granted he didn't want to leave ANY of the captives.......) there's also that bit after the ball when Ron and Hermione have their shouting match, he thinks Ron's acting like a jerk and takes Hermione's side (even if he doesn't say it out loud 😬). in book 5 -woah! let's save everything about five for another time- when they're facing the death eaters in the department of mysteries, he steps on her feet to give her instructions to pass onto the others. he literally grabs a handful of her robes to drag her after him to safety. he yells and tackles a death eater around the legs to stop the killing curse hitting her. when she's hit with that purple light spell and she falls unconscious, he completely freaks out and searches for a pulse. book 6?????? woah, he goes after her when Ron kisses another girl. he tries to give back some of that comfort she's always given him, you know?

Hermione doesn't often leave Harry alone. EVEN WHEN SHE'S annoyed with him. she's always worrying or chiding him for doing dangerous or questionable things. she cares about his health and helps him with his homework. I just wanna point out that in book 3 when they use the time turner to save Sirius, it's Hermione that goes with him. (even if it's a plot device since she's the one holding the time turner). okii book 4: who actually yells at Rita Skeeter across a pub for writing gross lies about her friend? and then she literally black mails the journalist to stop her from writing more nasty things about Harry. during the end of 5 she puts aside her personal misgivings to stand guard in Umbridge's office while he sticks his head through the fire place. she won't let him step through the veil in the department of mysteries even when he's basically entranced by it. she's actually afraid for his safety because it's making him act like a possessed zombie. let's never forget that in 7 she's the one who sticks around even when it's painful and hard. they go to Godric's Hollow even when (once again) she has serious misgivings about it. she holds his hand on that graveyard and tries to be a comfort.

I could go on but I've got way too much to say. I'm not trying to bash our bro Ronald Weasley at all. I just wanted to point out how many of Harry's severely important emotional beats she's there for and apart of.
