I follow you on fairytale-polls, and it made me curious, can we submit fairytales? Like actual fairytales, not retellings? Could I submit Little Mermaid by Hans Christian Andersen?

And to answer your question, yes! You can submit them! Some of the fairytales by George MacDonald have even been posted :)

Just make sure you are sending in a specific version. If you just send in "Cinderella" with no author or just say folklore or fairytale as author, I won't count it. But if you send in "Cinderella; or, the Little Glass Slipper" by Charles Perrault, which predates the Brothers Grimm version of the story, I will happily accept it :) That's just one example but hopefully it's enough for you to know what I mean.

You can also send your fairytales to @have-you-heard-this-fairy-tale , though they haven't updated in a while so I'm not sure if they're still active? Or perhaps just haven't gotten any submissions in a while? Either way, definitely consider checking them out too :)

I'm going to go with no for the time being, as I want to focus on general fables/fairy tales, sorry! However, maybe as we continue I'll consider it, but for the time being the answer is no.

Hey hey!! With this influx of poll blogs, I thought it'd be fun to make one on fairy tales/fables, since I haven't seen it done before.

Some rules and notes for submissions

- Fairy tales are going to be their original or at least *non-Disney* tale, not an altered modern version (meaning many of them will be dark, most likely!)

- Limit of five submissions per day

- Please send asks individually (it's easier for me to keep track that way)

- If you submit off-anon, I'll answer your ask privately once your submission is queued

- If possible, please put the time period, as well as the area of origin if you want to be specific about it (that way I can try to tag more specifically)

(Often there are multiple famous authors, put the one you're most familiar with if you'd like to be specific with the authors!)
