hii alana i'm so sorry for asking you this i know is a silly question but could you please post a tutorial on how do you make the previews for your psds? also your psds are always so pretty 💞💞

I make my previews in a pretty simple way lol but I can give you a mini-tutorial below the cut ✨

Note: I use photoshop so if you use any other programs than this tutorial might not translate well.

- The width of my previews is 540. I'm not sure if tumblr's posts dimensions are 540 width or 640 width because I've seen different things but 540 works for me.

- I make a separate document to make my squares so they're the perfect size. The sizes of my boxes are 145 x 145. After making the new document, double click the background layer so it creates a new layer called 'Layer 0'

- I add it to my main document and duplicate it 8 times and rearranges it the way I want it.

- Next I make a new group folder (ctrl + G, if you are using windows). I changed the folder name to 'psd template'

- Hold down the ctrl button and click on the thumbnail preview of the first layer

That will select the box on that layer. While holding the CTRL+ SHIFT button, click on all the thumbnail images of the box layers until they're all selected.

- Click the group folder and You're going to hit the 'layer mask' button

The reason why I do this is so I can drop the psd group folder into the 'PSD template' folder so it becomes a subfolder. It's just easier that way for me!

Adding images

- I open my image and then drag it onto my template document

- Move the mouse between the layers of the box and the image and hold down the 'ALT' button. When you do that it will look like this.

Now the image is inside of the box you want it to be in!

Other

The font I use for the text is Arial so it's nothing special.

As far as rearranging my images, it's just based on aesthetics and what is most pleasing to my eyes so it varies from person to person. If you'd like a follow up ask where I talk more about my rearranging process and why I put certain images where I do I'm more than happy to create some sort of helpful guide!
