Bathing in Whump

Ooo the vulnerability! The intimacy!

-Carefully positioning Whumpee in the bathtub to prevent their casts from getting wet.

-Helping Whumpee get in/out of their clothes before or after a bath if they're too beaten up.

-Blood being washed away, revealing huge bruises and scrapes.

-Caretaker carefully carding their hands through Whumpee's hair, washing out all of the dirt and blood.

-Bathwater stained pink from rehydrated blood.

-A sponge bath for a bed bound/unconscious Whumpee.

-Whumper forcing Whumpee to bathe in ice water, not allowing them to get out until they're suitably clean.

-Whumpee obsessively scrubbing their skin raw, desperate to get everything off of them.

-Soap stinging the small cuts on Whumpee's knees and elbows, the already inflamed skin becoming even more painful.

The Ex-Villain took their sweet time taking a drag of their cigarette, their expression completely blank.

"Really? I hadn't noticed." Ex-Villain said, almost laughing, "That was only the thirty-thousandth time I've heard that."

Hero didn't say anything, glaring at Ex-Villain,

"Y'know, I know what you're thinking. 'How rude', right? How dare I say anything other than 'sorry' to you, but you know what? I've been here for three fucking years now, three years!" Ex-Villain stood up, pacing around in front of Hero,

"I know what you all think of me! I'm so sick of hearing it!" Ex-Villain groaned, "And it's always the same shit. 'You're a piece of shit', 'You should be ashamed of yourself', blah blah blah."

"They're in the right to!" Hero rebutted,

"Well if they want it to actually hurt me instead of just boring me to tears they could at least come up with something original."

Hero almost chuckled. "The average person needs 674 pounds of oxygen a year, that's over 2,000 pounds of oxygen wasted on you since you've gotten here. Meaning you'd need to plant over 2,300 trees just to justify the air you've taken up."

"Ya see? So much better. I'll be crying about it all night."

i realllly wish there was more diversity in whump (as all 3 main roles but especially whumpee). i'm not tryna say that the characters or their creators are bad or evil at all but it does get kind of old when the overwhelming majority of characters in whump are "skinny, usually white, male."

-"It's over now, sweetheart. It's over."

-Whumpee's team has all of their favorite things ready for when they get back from the mission, ready for Whumpee to unwind after everything they'd been through.

-A hero carrying the villain they just beat up to the hospital for treatment.

-Caretaker tucking Whumpee into bed, stroking their back gently until they can finally fall asleep.

-"Why did you save me?" "Why wouldn't I?"

-A sick Whumpee being doted on by their team, anything they could possibly need is taken care of.

-"You aren't a burden, you were never a burden. A burden is something that isn't wanted."

-Broken bones that need to be set, Whumpee powering through the pain of having their bone reassembled as Caretaker rubs their shoulders.

-Whumpee's favorite tea brewing on the stove, the kettle whistling as Whumpee hisses from the pain of stitches.

-"Trust me, trust me when I say you will never be hurt like this again."

-"Here, squeeze my hand, this might hurt a little."

-Caretaker being so, so gentle as they wash the blood from Whumpee's face,

-"Please! Don't touch me!" "I'm sorry, that wound needs to be treated!"

-The Ol' Fashion "I didn't know where else to go."
