I really think people have forgotten just how bad things were under the Trump Administration. Literally every day there was news about some service being cut or someone terrible appointed somewhere they shouldn't be or what have you. He constantly flirted with WW3 and military dictatorship. It was such a blur of badness that there aren't big standouts for people to point to to make him "the XYZ president." it was everything. all the time. Why do we not remember this.

I feel like witches are sedentary and wizards are migratory. A witch has a home, a cauldron, herbs, you go to them with your problem. A wizard wanders, disappears, shows up at inconvenient times to fix nothing. am i making sense

This was very lovely to wake up to. It's completely legit, in the replies people posted videos and pictures of the 'walk for El Vaquita', the fake protest to get El Vaquita desperately needed medical attention.
The comments in the tweet lead to celebration of a another Chilean comrade doggo named Negro Matapacos. And this is exactly the kind of education I want this month.

Parents: "I demand that my children obey me without question. I hit them if they don't. I believe that all problems in the world are caused by children not being hit enough. I yell at my children and consider it disrespect if they yell back. I control my children's interests and career choices. If my children are disabled or LGBT, I demand that they act normal in order to protect my image."
Landlords: "I intentionally put myself in a position where people must benefit me in order to have access to life's necessities. I use people for my own personal gain and discard them like garbage if they stop being useful to me."
CEOs: "I demand that people prioritize my personal gain over anything else. I demand that people care out me while I openly refuse to care about them. I do everything I can to stop people from unionizing so I can maintain power over them."
Police: "I demand that people obey me at all times. I believe that it's my right to kill people if they don't obey me. I terrorize anyone who I can get away with terrorizing then act like the victim when people say that they don't like me. I'm violent on a regular basis while expecting protesters to always be peaceful."
White, Christian, Cis-Het, Neurotypical Men: "I intentionally twist what oppressed people say on a regular basis. I assume that they want power when it's very clear that they want equality. I go out of my way to start arguments with them in order to overwhelm them so they eventually say something wrong that I can use against them."
Conservatives: "I openly brag about how unfair the world is and anyone who doesn't like it is a crybaby special snowflake. Fuck your feelings."
Narcissists: "I was abused and had to be selfish in order to survive it."
Society: "ZOMG NARCISSISTS ARE EVIL! NARCISSISTS ARE SELFISH AND HAVE NO COMPASSION FOR OTHERS!"

I don't see people talking about this so today is the 110th anniversary of the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire, in where the factory owners locked working women and girls inside to "eliminate the risk of theft" (in reality it was too keep them from taking breaks), which resulted in the gruesome deaths of 123 mostly immigrant women and girls and 23 men, many of whom jumped to their deaths from the ninth floor either in a panicked attempt to escape or in order to die quickly. There were reports that some of the workers were on fire already as they jumped.
The eighth floor of the building was able to telephone the tenth floor to warn them about the fire, but the factory on the ninth floor where these women and girls labored had no such communication and such warning.
The factory owners were criminally charged with manslaughter for actions that contributed to the mass deaths but acquitted. However, this tragedy led to mass sympathy to the labor movement, and unions spurred on safety regulations that passed in New York state and eventually the entire country, and activists were able to reduce child labor in the process.
This tragedy is a reminder that has been forgotten in the 110 years since: every safety regulation-- every scrap of paperwork contributing to the hundreds of pages of red tape people like to complain about--every word of it was written in the blood of a laborer.

Ppl will be like “end the stigma around mental illness uwu” but still judge you if you’re unemployed or single or not completely self-sufficient or healthy or perfectly groomed or still live with parents and don’t see the hypocrisy in that whatsoever
