I honestly think a better F&C ending would have been them pulling Betty from Golb somehow and then pulling a last unicorn where she’s been an indecipherable goddess of chaos for so long now that she can’t cope with her humanity and the second season would focus on Simon sacrificing and Betty having her chance to be cared for this time.

I feel like enough time has passed that I can say this.

I hated the F&C ending.

The pacing was horrible, they crushed scarab so many times it got old by the 10th episode, nothing that happened to Simon was deeply impactful or emotional and was actually kind of cheesy and boring and it felt like a cop out reiteration of the same thing that happened in the finale but in a worse way and I can’t believe people actually think it was good.

Simon and Betty both deserved a happy ending together, I don’t think either of them got a happy ending. Simon wasn’t intentionally selfish and Betty allowed him to be that’s not toxic that’s unconditional love, Simon never got the chance to work it out with Betty, all they’ve done is create a new unequal footing narrative.

Golbetty zapping him butt naked into Shermy’s head 1000 years in the future and having him play a rpg video book to teach him a lesson was a really weird and poor choice to try and set up future seasons that they didn’t need, it felt very unnecessary.

People seem to forget that Simon spent 1000+ years searching for her she was the only thing on his mind even in his madness for over a century. I don’t believe there’s a world where Simon is happy without Betty, and that’s okay. I’m tired of shows giving us the tragic but it’s okay because it teaches you a lesson ending not every show has to be like that anymore we didn’t need the same lesson reiterated once again they deserved a happy ending together and for them to have a chance to fix the problems in their relationship, it’s not Simon’s fault that Betty jumped at every opportunity to sacrifice herself for him because she loved him.

Anyway Tl;dr: Fionna and Cake ending sucked I’m right and you can argue with me about it if you feel so inclined but I’m right.

Does anyone else feel like it’s absolutely ridiculous that we get exactly one unimportant interaction between Marceline and Betty? The two people most important to Simon never interact outside of a few seconds. Betty doesn’t even know who Marcy is, Finn got an entire episode with Betty but not Marceline??

I saw a post complaining about people acting like Betty is some kind of poor little girl taken advantage of by her situation. And while I haven't seen this happening myself, it does make me laugh to think about because like,

Ma'am, that woman nearly killed everyone in the world *TWICE* trying to save her husband, INCLUDING TRYING TO MURDER ICE KING.

That woman has a body count that nobody asked her to make! She is just! So good! At crimes!! And we love that for her!!!
