I get that the bookshop fire was traumatic for Crowley because he thought he lost Aziraphale.
Tumblr media
I keep seeing people say they want Aziraphale to know what it would feel like to lose Crowley, but I'm pretty sure my eyes weren't the only ones open when this happened...
Right?

"And that was the last I was to see of Crowley for some time."
Aziraphale has lost Crowley. To Hell.
He could do nothing to stop what happened in Edinburgh, and I can't imagine that he didn't fear he'd lost Crowley for good here.
Aziraphale has experienced more heartbreak than some fans care to even acknowledge. He exists in constant fear of losing Crowley to Hell again. AGAIN.
We saw Aziraphale save Crowley from Hell in 1941 with the human magic trick he used on Furfur.
Aziraphale was the one sitting in the bathtub of holy water after the Notpocalypse, knowing this was the reason he'd been so scared to hand Crowley his own thermos of holy water in the first place.
He's lost Crowley to Hell before and he will do anything to prevent it from happening again.
That's the impact Edinburgh had on Aziraphale. This is the impact that losing Crowley had on Aziraphale.

What’s your favourite line from good omens?
The invisible and unbreakable one that joins Crowley and Aziraphale.

Hi Mr Gaiman!
What’s your opinion on people saying someone is only a real fan of something if they consumed all of the available media of that thing? (e.g. “you aren’t a real fan of sandman if you only watched the netflix series”)
I feel like more and more people do this to sort of gate keep otherwise amazing fandoms and personally i think it’s quite sad to see.
As I posted on a more or less dead site a couple of years ago:

Today Crowley and Aziraphale decided to go on a road trip picnic. Crowley wanted to use the GPS on his phone, but Aziraphale insisted that maps work just as well, if not better, and batted his lashes until Crowley put the phone away. Naturally, they were lost within the hour. After much playful bickering, the Bentley decided to take matters into its own hands, and drove them to a lovely spot where they enjoyed their sandwiches and champagne.

We are indeed! Even across continents and everything :-D <3
So I did fly to London & put on a waistcoat & visit a rare bookshop & watch Nye & interact with the sweetest angel on earth & meet a lovely Crowley in interval & have the audacity to shout “Happy Easter & we love you” to Michael in public.
It happened. It did.
Absolutely bestest time of my life so far🥹

It occurred to me that Michael and David's reactions to the kiss were very Aziracrow-coded. Literally if someone asked them how their first kiss was, that is EXACTLY how it would go.
Nina and Maggie, popping into the bookshop: "So, Mr. Fell, we hear Mx. Crowley finally got around to kissing you. How was it?"
Aziraphale: OH, NINA, IT WAS EVERYTHING I EVER DREAMED IT WOULD BE! CROWLEY IS SO HANDSOME AND WONDERFUL! I LOVE HIM SO MUCH!
Crowley: Ehh. It was fine. He'd brushed his teeth. Whatever. Let's go, angel.

For some reason this hits me hard today. Maybe because I still remember a time when I lived day by day because I didn't know how I could make it through a whole week. Maybe because we've lived (and are still living?) during a pandemic and that has changed me and, I'm sure, many others. Maybe because it makes me think of all the challenges that wait for me out there. Maybe because of the beautiful moments ahead. Or the people that will enter my life and be part of it, whether it is for a short while or a long journey.
This puts things in perspective while shaking up my world and ripping away my security blanket.
This makes me both excited for the future that lays way ahead of me, and terrified because of all the days I have to get through to get there.
And it gives me hope.
And I'll cling to it.
is growing up going to be as bad as i worry it will be?
Sometimes. But it has amazing bits too. (Imagine having been alive in historical times. You will have been.)

"The play 'Nye' is currently being shown at the National Theatre, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I even doodled two of my favourite parts. Michael Sheen, who is known for his role in Good Omens, is a brilliant actor who listens to his fans, and I am glad to have had the chance to see him perform."
As a non-English native speaker, I prepared a script, because I was too nervous before that. Sound stupid but he still listened to what I said, and I'm really grateful.

Hi from the "lovely Crowley". I have you know, you are lucky, "lovely" isn't a four letter word :-D
Had the bestest time with you, Nye and the real life angel that is Michael Sheen! <3

Hello Neil,
in S2 we see Crowley in the bookshop throwing books mindlessly away when something gets his attention. Even thou it is so Crowley it leaves me shocked each time he does it (I'm a bookseller).
Are those real books? What would Aziraphale say if he ever finds out?
Hope you don't mind me asking. -Shen.
While those were real books, they were also highly trained stunt books, and they had rehearsed the bit where David Tennant threw them down, so none of them were hurt.

Aziraphale was such a little bastard (/affectionate) for giving Jim hot cocoa to drink when he knew his old boss's opinion on sullying the temple of his body with "gross matter."
He did the same thing with Muriel, offered them tea knowing what they probably thought of it and then amiably watched them to see what they would do with it.
He's gone rogue, people. He's corrupting Heaven one politely offered hot beverage at a time.
