Easily my favorite picture from #graduation. She was positioned right where I was walking out to take a picture of me, but I caught her instead. Because she might as well have been the one walking up there instead of me. Without her, none of this happens. For all the late nights and early mornings, my stress food runs and my outbursts, for easing my burdens and lifting me up when I felt like I couldn’t do it, she saw me through my most vulnerable and stood by me for all of it. With that said, no matter how hard it felt, knowing I was doing it for her and that I was making her proud made it easy. Because success comes naturally when you have that smile waiting for you at home. So thank you the most. Thanks for everything we’ve done and everything we will do, because without “we”, there is no me. That’s for damn sure. Last week, our manager had the brilliant foresight of scheduling two trainees on the busiest day of the week, with only myself and one other person to pick up the slack. After the closing assistant manager didn’t help the entire time I was there, they tried to blame me for a small pile of stuff on the floor and was told to “do a better job next time” despite doing the entire store by myself. Now, a co worker got guilted for calling out for having to go to a funeral, being told, “can’t you come in after?” Ridiculous.
