Do you have a wealth of phanfiction knowledge that you want to put to good use? Spend your free time trolling our “not found” tag and think how did they not find this one??? Want to make some new friends from all around the world and work on a big, collaborative project with them? Well…

The Phanfiction Catalogue is now accepting applications for new admins!

Before applying, please read the following:

We are looking for people who can give significant time and effort to running and improving the blog. Please only apply if this job is something you can really commit to!

A reliable computer is necessary. Editing within the theme is about 70% of the work on this blog and it’s not possible to do from mobile.

We get a lot of asks per day - sometimes we can have up to 100 asks in our inbox. Patience and the ability to give consistent answers are key.

There is no way to avoid potentially triggering fics/content as an admin. Please keep that in mind when deciding whether or not to apply.

What does being an admin include?

finding lost fics / responding to asks, and tagging those asks appropriately

fixing broken links on both the catalogue and the library

adding fics and authors to the library via html

creating masterlists of a wide variety of genres

other regular blog maintenance and upkeep

The Process

Fill out this first general information survey (you will have one week from today, September 2, to complete this part of the application).

If you’re chosen to move on, you will then complete a second, more in-depth application.

If you’re chosen to move on from the second round, interviews will be conducted over a WhatsApp chat.

After interviews, the new admins will be chosen!

We will message you over Tumblr if you’ve made it to the next round, so please keep your ask boxes open.

We will make a post when we’ve sent out all messages for that round.

If you change urls during the time of admin applications, please let us know asap!

Any questions, feel free to ask! Please send them off anon if possible so we aren’t flooding the blog with questions. We’ll tag all the posts with #admin applications.

The Supportive Phandom Project is starting!

Yes, we’re finally starting! If you don’t know what this is about, here’s the first post I’ve made about it. @supportivephandom is a blog dedicated to helping people who are going through a hard time, especially because of cyber bullying but also because of real life bullying, sexuality/identity struggles, toxic/fake friendships/relationships, mental health etc. Our admins are people with very diverse experiences and they want to use their past experience to help others. I’ve spent these past couple weeks getting to know them and I’ve learned that they’re all amazing, kind and very qualified for this job. Of course none of us is a professional, I think it’s important for me to mention it. We can’t help you with everything and sometimes all we can do is advise you to talk to a therapist or someone who’ll be able to guide you through the situation you’re currently going through. That being said, I can promise you that we’ll gladly listen to you and do anything in our power to help you at least a little bit. We really do care and we want to show others that you are not alone. We also think that the Phandom could use a little positivity, especially because there’s a lot of pointless drama going on here all the time. And we know that this isn’t what the Phandom is all about.

Ok, so how does it work?

It’s simple! You send us an ask, describing your situation and we try to give you advice on how you can handle it. If you need someone to talk to, you can specify that in your ask and one of us will reach out to you directly. If you want to talk on another platform we can figure that out as well. We’ll also share our own stories, post resources on various topics and post a lot of positive stuff.

Is it lgbt friendly?

Of course it is! All of the admins are a part of the community and we understand the struggle that may come with it. If you need someone to talk about it, you’re more than welcome to hit us up!

Are there any age limits for people sending asks?

Absolutely not!

Second announcement of the day, wow! This time, it’s about something totally different than Jesus and april fools and such, though!  Some of you who have been here for a long time may remember, but we had an admin named Chase ( @phanontour ) that was on the blog about a year ago. He took a break due to some life things that ended up happening, but we are happy to announce that he is back and better than ever!
