I'm delighted to announce that I finally have an original gay erotica series available on Amazon! Ride along through the underworld of 1950s Los Angeles with Detective Randy Rogers, who will do whoever it takes to solve a case.
Several volumes are available currently (December 2023), with new volumes slated to come out every month. All are available as e-books (including Kindle Unlimited reads) or as physical editions. You can find the whole series here, or by searching 'Ellie Powers Vice' on Amazon.
With season 10 looming I thought I'd share the funniest thing I ever stumbled across about Father Brown.
So late 2022 I was going to a Downton Abbey exhibit and I was doing research because it had been a minute since the show so I needed a refresh and wanted to know what I might see and well I found this photo...
And immediately I was like wait why do I know that uniform? Why does it feel so familiar? So I look up Tom Branson in his uniform to try and figure it out and saw these pictures:
Then it hit me Sid's chauffeur uniform is a cast off from Downton friggin Abbey! Like look at this:
They do eventually change the buttons to black then green cloth covered ones:
Here's more of the pieces of the uniform in various states as Sid is often disheveled or wearing just one part:
I honestly love it and I really wish we'd gotten the gloves and the goggles too at least for one episode. Now I don't have actual proof aside from what I can see but I mean it is compelling evidence no?
Anyways that's my little discovery and it makes me wonder what other costumes are shared between the shows.
as a fan of both studio ghibli and father brown, I present adorable cartivan mashed with a lil howl's. it's certainly not perfect in places but it's goddamn adorable idc what you say
The more I think about the idea of Sid with a motorcycle (one he didn't unknowingly buy with a nearly dead guy's money), the more I want the following scene as the intro to an episode:
A motorcycle cruises smoothly along curving roads, lush greenery behind. The driver can't be clearly identified, but there's a James Dean air to their blue jeans, leather jacket, and wind-blown hair. After a moment, a dark car is seen coming up behind the rider. It follows for a moment, not crowding the bike but clearly interested in it. The identity of the man behind the wheel is also a mystery, but the brief flash of an elbow and shoulder in the open window reveals a blue suit.
The motorcyclist glances back, then hunkers down over the handlebars and speeds up. The car keeps pace. Is the motorcyclist a wanted man? Is the driver of the car about to commit murder? Around here, either is a very real possibility.
As they drop out of the hills and into open fields, a siren sounds, revealing the car to be a plainclothes police vehicle. The motorcycle pulls up at a wide spot on the gravel shoulder. Its rider, his face still turned away, is seen pulling off a pair of leather gloves that look too soft to be a stereotypical motorcycling glove. If anything, they're more like something a chauffeur would wear. He finally looks up as crunching footsteps announce the arrival of the policeman. He smirks. "Fancy seeing you around here."
The camera switches to a close up of Sullivan, who doesn't even seem to be trying to hide his return smile. "I could say the same to you."
Back to Sid. "Fair enough, these days." His eyebrows quirk playfully. "...Fancy a chase? For old times sake?"
"We just had one."
"Did not. I never sped once. Knew it was you back there. Actually...why DID you pull me over?"
"Mm...nostalgia."
"Aww, and I didn't even know what we were doing."
"Don't lament it yet. I'm here on a case. And..." Sullivan winces slightly. "I'm going to need Father Brown's help."
Sid laughs, delighted. "Well, you know where to find him."
"Yes. I do. But I'll follow you there, anyway."
The motorcycle is seen pulling back onto the road, followed by the car. The camera pans to follow them, revealing a familiar church tower rising above a low village. At the side of the road stands a sign that reads 'Kembleford.'
The scene fades into the show's opening.
thoughts on the guy between fr b and goodfellow ? sure its that same biker guy that we thought looks like sid a little. could it be... im still not sure 😭
I vote that it is him. The hair is right, and the posture, too. Plus, that's a Sid outfit if there's ever been one.

Sullivan frowned as Sid bustled into the kitchen with full arms. “You’ve been to the shops?”
“Yeah.” He heaved his load onto the counter. “You need something in particular? I’ll go back, I don’t mind. Should’ve asked before, I know you hate shopping.”
He did hate it. The multiple stops and the small talk made shopping a tortuous chore. But he’d never actually said as much; Sid simply knew.
In a moment he’d closed the distance between them. Sid gazed at him, waiting patiently for a list. “No,” Sullivan murmured, taking his hands. “I have everything I need right here.”
And of course the inevitable times when it falls back in from snapping height and splashes tea everywhere. Double points if it also hits his chin first.
had a sid carter-coded moment and just lost half a biscuit in my tea
I've always imagined him really pushing the limit on how long to let it soak. Wants it so sodden that he has to snap at it like a dog being teased with a treat to make sure he gets it before it falls. Does it often end up on his chin instead? Yes. Does he care? No.

‘Sands of Time,’ part 10 of the Seasons of Love series, is now posting! The presbytery crew tries to beat the heat with a beach holiday, but a specter from Sullivan’s past threatens to put an early end to their well-earned break. Can the trip be salvaged? Will Sullivan get answers to the question that has framed his entire life thus far? More importantly, does he finally and truly have a real family?
Nothing feels more free than the realization that canon, fanon, and headcanon are all 1000% fake and made up and therefore all equally true and equally false. None are better or worse than the other. They just either appeal to you or they don't.
