looking at buddhist influences in Majora's Mask and one thing I discovered that kinda blew my mind, especially in terms of the light it sheds on the game, is just how important the moon is as a symbol in buddhism. Buddhists believe that the first Buddha was born, enlightened, and died on a night with a full moon. It stands as a representation of the mind, symbolizing truth and enlightenment, nirvana, so on and so forth.
Taking that knowledge, the falling Moon in Majora's Mask can thus be seen as a representation of someone's mind succumbing to insanity, crashing and burning everything around it. It makes Link obtaining the Fierce Deity Mask-basically his enlightenment in physical form-in the world inside the moon make that much more sense. Link eradicating Majora inside the moon represents Link destroying his dark side and achieving nirvana.
It also makes Majora's Mask(the artifact/spirit) using the moon to destroy Termina that much more cruel, as it's taking a symbol of goodness and liberation and twisting it into a means of destruction and death, making the very people who once revered the moon to now fear and cower from it.
Like c'mon, how is that not cool?

Been awake for 2 hrs and today just isn't the vibe, so I'm gonna rant abt oot zelink✨️
I still have to play mm so I don't really knows what happens there but~
For many reasons I like to think Zelda kept her memories as Sheik, or can vaugly remember them. Can you just imagine that maybe Link tries to help he remember, leading him to talk about it and eventual learn to work through some ✨️trauma✨️ I'm soft for it.
The boy was down bad for Sheik too. And at that point it may have been "I've been alone all this time, pls I need a friend" ...:) but let's be honest here
Links just a Lil boy from the kokiri forest~ obviously he's not going to know how to act once he hits the cities. And yeah, he defiently picked things up along the way, but what it everyone once in a while he slips up and goes back to "default mode", like what do you mean it's not normal to climb to tall places where adults shouldn't be? I dunno but it'd be cute if Zelda just kinda goes along with it.
👏lots👏of👏cuddles👏. They both need them and deserve them~ need I say more. Link and Zelda are always just a couple of touched starved individuals, but this pair in particular seem like they'd both hate being touched, but absolutely crave it at the same time.

Linktober Day 2, Temple
Easily my favorite Zelda temple and one of my favorite spots in botw. Honestly having the entire tutorial around this absolute icon was unexpected but also such a big brain move.

My redesigns for the Clock Town guards, and poor Shiro.
Thought it’d be cool if the guards’ helmets had a mask aspect to them, which inspired me to embellish Shiro so that he’s now slowly turning to stone - hence when you help him, he gives you the Stone Mask.

The moon isn’t the only odd thing in the night sky above the ranch…
My redesigns for Cremia & Romani!  I thought it would be neat to acknowledge Romani’s real-life namesake in their clothing and looks.

Oh my god oh my god oh my god
I’ll try and be comprehensible but this thought-
It is, as we know, Zora tradition for the princess to present armor, made by her own hands, to the person they wish to be their husband. Mipha, of course, did this for Link, though she did not get to go through with it… mipha…
Botw/Totk Zelda made the champion’s garments that all the botw champions wore, which were presented to them when they were named champions… this shows that the hyrule kingdom, as well, placed importance on the princess crafting garments for certain occasions and ranks.
I do not know if it was specifically a tradition in hylian royalty to propose with armor, but with the history of botw/Totk Link and Zelda, with the knowledge of mipha’s intentions, plus zelda having made his original tunic, I think that her presenting the champions leathers to link would be fully understood as a proposal, as her asking him to be her husband, to lead and be with her as more than a knight.
I think that the champions leathers were just as symbolic as past tradition implies… that they were how she was planning to propose to him.
“I just can't wait to see the look on his face when I surprise him with it!”

I wish puppet Zelda’s existence had some actual, tangible consequences in the story.
Like as far as anyone knows before the battle with phantom Ganon, someone they trusted and saw as an ally arrived to bring misery on their people. Surely they’re not all so busy worshiping the ground totk zeldy walks on that they all just accept that she’d decide to do that with no pushback whatsoever? Hell Yunobo is worried that the monster she summoned to try and kill him might hurt her instead of being pissed that she summoned a monster to kill him. Like what if a few of the elderly Zora, still grieving Mipha and now poisoned by sludge, take it as a sign that allying with Hyrule is a bad idea? Or Yunobo shakes off the brainwashing, sees what’s become of his people, and wants her to answer for it? Sidon learns that “Zelda” attacked his father and decides he’s not interested in hearing excuses for her actions if she’d go so far as to harm his only living family? Riju feels torn because she doesn’t want to believe someone she considers a friend would cause so much suffering, but the Gerudo are calling for justice and she has to place their needs above everything else? Tulin ends up at odds with his father because Teba insists on staying quiet so they don’t harm their relationship with Hyrule? There are so many juicy story threads presented by the concept of a fake Zelda that could put Link and the sages in conflict with their communities, loved ones, and each other that just never go anywhere because even the fake Zeldy Ganondorf built is too perfect to ever be questioned

10 Sky Islands that could have and should have existed
Because as much as I love Tears of the Kingdom, I don't like how empty the sky map is
5 sky island concepts will be kept behind a spoiler cut because of the content involved
The Seven Constellation Islands - Seven distinct archipelagos that exist in the Gerudo sky. There is one archipelago for each of the Seven Heroines. The goal is to turn different lights and mirrors to create seven constellations based on their symbols
The Sealed Sheikah Island - A sky island hidden above the Shrine of Resurrection. In BOTW, it's stated that in the past, the Sheikah was forced to give up their technology 10,000 years ago. Some monks decided to hide their tech in the sky rather than leave them buried
Deku Sprout Islands - A group of fog covered islands that exist above Korok Forest. There are sky islands above the forest, but they're just generic islands that could be anywhere, and I feel like there could be a unique one. It is known that when a Deku Tree dies, another will regrow in its place, so the Sprout Islands are lush islands linked to the Deku's spirit
Satori Falls - A moving island with giant waterfalls that reach the surface. It uniquely disappears and reappears above the sakura forests. If you find one and travel up to it, a giant Satori implied to be the heart and soul all Satori are linked to will reward you with rupees, but then send you back down to the surface and the island vanishes again
Skyloft Island - Exactly what you think it is. A giant reference to Skyward Sword above the Mother Goddess statue in TOTK. Only reveals itself after you get the Master Sword. The sword's original resting place before Korok Forest. After a difficult quest, you unlock the ability to immediately recharge the Master Sword by returning here every time it runs out of energy
Spoilers below. Click at your own risk
Dragon Islands - When you start the quest for Mineru, you ultimately find a series of sky islands above the Shrine of the Courage shrouded in a thunderstorm. I like the idea of there being sky islands above the Shrine of Wisdom and Power. For Wisdom, there are floating blocks of ice spiraling around a cyclone. Power has bonfires that can be used for updrafts. These could be better locations for the frostbite and ember armor sets than just "find cave"
Gorondia High Tower - The Fire Temple is an underground city beneath the Gorons. There's no indication that Gorondia was ever above ground, but since there are no sky islands around Death Mountain, I do like the idea of a floating tower that was originally part of the city. It can have a forge that can repair weapons with zonaite or ore. Or maybe reforge decayed weapons into pristine ones
Twinrova's Secret Citadel - A freeze frame during the Dragon's Tear memories reveals that Koume and Kotake existed as Ganondorf's followers. Because they didn't get that much focus, I think it would be interesting if there was a sky island that revealed things from their perspective. They can be above the twin peaks
Lost Zonai City - Despite how important the Zonai are implied to be, we don't see too much about them beside Rauru and Mineru. A forgotten city with bits and pieces of the lives and culture they used to live would be a really cool insight into a new race of people in the Zeldaverse. Scholar constructs could describe all the cultural aspects left in the architecture
Light Temple - Something I mentioned in a previous TOTK post rewriting what a narrative post. Every sage has a designated temple except Rauru. I think he can have a temple that exists between Hyrule Castle and the Temple of Time. To quickly sum up its purpose, instead of each temple replaying the same cutscene, the Light Temple can be a fifth dungeon that plays a single cutscene about the Imprisoning War after Link and all the sages come together
