went to a cat cafe with my roommate, picked some stuff up at target. came back and participated in the protest at my college, had some dining hall sandwiches. we hung out and did some work, went downtown and got ice cream. watched a lecture online. finished my book (again, but better by christine riccio!).
had a great night overall & just wanted to share. also me n my roommate have decided to start a youtube channel (or really start posting on mine again. we’re doing a thrift with my tomorrow eee!) i’m so excited. i’ve missed it so much. stay tuned for that :)

Things people should worry about and should probably fight against in a post-Covid world: the phasing out of physical money.
Even before all of this started a lot of restaurants in my area were already going ‘paperless’ aka: refusing to take anything but cards in order to buy food.
I hope that people understand just how terrible this is. How the movement to doing this was specifically a move against poor and homeless people. Against people who could not open a bank account. Who could not get a credit card. How it was a move by restaurants to not-so-subtlety ensure that the only people coming in through their doors were ‘desirable’ clients.
In a post-COVID world this is only going to get worse because now companies will have has a ‘societally acceptabile’ reason for refusing paper money. They will create an environment that is hostile towards the poor and homeless under the guise of public health.
I do not have all the answers for how to address this. I do not have answers for how to fix this or combat it. I do not know how to keep both workers safe in a public health aspect and also keep businesses accessible to people without bank accounts. I don’t have the answers but We need to be aware of this. We need to understand how terrible it is. We need to see it for what it is and how disproportionately such a move will hurt those around us.

Day 35 to 38 of @myhoneststudyblr‘s Summer Studying Challenge!
Daytime or night time - what’s your favourite time during the summer?
Night! It’s definitely cooler in the night and you don’t really feel the urge to scrape all your hair out from extreme daytime heat, ya feel?
What is your favourite seasonal fruit to eat during the summer?
To be honest, I’m not really sure what summer seasonal fruits there are. All fruits are available (except for a few exceptions like durian) all year round in Singapore ☺
Would you prefer your summer to be shorter or longer?
Shorter, I want to experience other weathers than the occasional rain or scorching heat please.
How does summer feel in your region?
It feels like everyday. And everyday, you either get used to it or just want to curse at it more 🙃

I survived my first exam this week and I‘m not sure if it went well or not :D I tried to catch up on sleep the days after and I‘m having trouble to start studying for my next exam. But I‘m trying my best :) I really like how this week‘s spread turned out! I added a drawing of a monstera leaf I created yesterday and I think it looks quite nice :‘)

so lately, i’ve been trying to focus less on editing for the perfect white feed and focusing more on the actual content that i post, and somehow, i ended up with this absolutely gorgeous, warm, almost-autumn set of photos from my instagram :’)

Really really happy because I had a productive day (in my standards). Honestly ever since sophomore year started, I have just been slacking and been unmotivated and felt like I lost my sense of “drive” or “purpose.” I think it’s called the sophomore slump??
