If Lord Needlemouse had a redemption arc how do you think that would go? I love hearing about hypothetical redemption arcs for villain Sonics...

The only way I can see Lord Needlemouse having a redemption arc is if he reaches a very low point. Let’s say his shadow android’s and base are all destroyed leaving him with nothing and no one. He’d take whatever he has left at his disposal and go on a rampage. Ivo and his friends would either defeat him, or he’d burn himself out. With the opportunity there, he’d be locked up somewhere secure.

His sudden aggression wouldn’t go unnoticed, and someone would find out about what happened to his base and androids. Thus explaining his attack. It was him lashing out. With this chance, Ivo and Tails approached the imprisoned Needlemouse with an offer. They’ll rebuild his Androids as if they had never been destroyed. Under one condition. For one month, Needlemouse must stay with the Restoration and make a genuine effort to be a good person. If at the end of the month he realizes he likes it, yay! He can stay and alls well that ends well. If not, then his and his androids can go back to being villains.

Needlemouse accepts the offer, and for a month has to be a goody two shoes. At first he makes his distain for it all well known. And the people there aren’t exactly welcoming him with open arms. The first time he says Thank you for getting helped with something everyone freezes and stares at him. But it’s a sign of positive progress. People start to notice the subtler things about Needlemouse. Cream has him wrapped around her little finger. Any kid does actually. He’s once spotted holding a baby and just taking care of it. When asked who’s baby it is he just shrugs and says he found it. He stops being outwardly mean and unless provoked, he won’t really cause problems.

At the end of the month Ivo asks him if he wants to stay or go. Needlemouse isn’t too sure. He’s always seen himself as a bad person. He’s not sure he should stay. But he’d be lying if he said he wanted to go. He ends up choosing to go. But he doesn’t return to being a villain. He goes to figure himself out. And maybe one day he’ll return.

Aftermath of Lord Needlemouse meeting Modern Sonic?

They were both put in timeout in the the end. Needlemouse only agreed to calm down if wasn’t locked up. Sonic’s curious what Needlemouse’s deal is. And Ivo is glad Needlemouse holds his punches back at home.

Thinking about Sonic Generations with Sonic/Egg Swap AU. I don’t really have classic and modern versions of Ivo or Needlemouse.

But I can imagine Ivo stumbling across an area he doesn’t recognize with a frozen in time hedgehog he doesn’t know. And when he frees them, it’s recealed to be a much younger Needlemouse. One that hasn’t given into being a villain.

He’s barred off having friends as a possibily. He would love to be friends with you, someone, anyone. But he’s convinced himself that he’s not capable of making and keeping friends. Cuz he’s evil.

I'm gonna be honest, I really can see some few people (mostly just kids) actually like and care for Needlemouse, because they know he's nice deep down under all that "bad guy" and "evil" stuff (Also wish to give Needlemouse some cookies if he likes them)

The main good guys all sorta suspect there’s more to Needlemouse than just him being bad. The few times Needlemouse has fought on their side, they’ve seen what he’s like when he really tries in battle. They’ve seen how strong and powerful he is, and how much he holds back when he fights them.

Shadow is the only one that really knows about his secret nice side. And it’s only because he’s infiltrated his base under the guise of being a Shadow Android. Hes seen how much care and compassion Needlemouse has with the androids.
