Yeah np! I really don’t think lolisho / feral furry should be banned or any work for underage / animal characters in general regarding that there are irl pedos who are anti-c who use this to cope with their condition. I can’t relate to this at all personally, and self-proclaimed MAPs and zoosexuals make me very uncomfortable to be around. I don’t think they should be harassed or treated like an abuser unless they’re actually committing an abuse.

That being said sexualizing real minors or real animals is weird as fuck, and I am sure the average anti-harm anti-c pro-para person would agree with me in this regard.

If fiction is being used as a tool to help someone navigate their life because they’re a paraphile, have a mental health condition, have hypersexuality, have trauma, or they just like it because it is Shiny and Sparkly to them without causing a real breathing living entity harm then im all for it.

The lines can be very blurry, yeah. I don’t trust most depictions of things in fictional works because of my own ocd issues, trauma, and paranoia, but I try to read everyone in good faith and remove myself if I can’t trust my gut regarding the person. Which is what everyone should do no matter who it is. If the vibe feels off that person is probably will not mesh with you at best, or could be dangerous at worst. It is always good to read people in good faith until there is a reason to not anymore, and that goes for dark fic creators because sometimes created content can leave a pit in your soul.

I’ve also seen where proshippers themselves, the no-limits proshippers, justify writing and drawing RPF of irl minors or perpetrate real bigotry/real propaganda with the whole “fiction ≠ reality” which can be a dangerous argument in itself.

These are thankfully few and far between because most rational people can attest that this is bad and not a thing that should happen.

I'm no psychology major but calling anyone who draw characters who aren't the standard height or forever young since the source material was released "child porn artists" is one of the signs of someone losing the difference between reality & fiction but ended up projecting it to everyone else

Well I think everything in morally wrong depicted in fiction can be easily romanticized from abuse to incest. This includes shipping, drawing, and writing nsfw of minors. This includes bigotry, accidents, mental illnesses, physical conditions, etc. I will agree that some things wrt fictional nsfw works involving underage characters even squicks me out, and that there is no way in a realistic setting would a very underage character consent to sex, but it is fiction and it isn’t meant to be real or realistic. I think if it happens in real life then it can happen in fiction, even if the characters depicted are underage. No one should be harassed over it as long as if it’s fictitious and not imposed on real people.

Personally, for 26 years of my life, I have never viewed irl in a fictional lense. Irl children repulse me. There are fans who do use fiction as an excuse to abuse others namely groomers who project fantasy onto reality, and that a lot of them hide in both anti space and proship space alike and project an abusive power dynamic (e.g adult x child) onto irl people. I abhor this as well as many lolisho enjoyers. My brain separates fantasy from reality to a degree that even the lines can’t blur though I will admit I am critical of the media I consume and have squicks regarding to my tastes, and if it constitutes irl harm or can be used easily as a tool to perpetrate abuse, I instantly nope out

The best example I can think of is a fic I had to click out of where a child character (about 12) who was really naive “consented” to initiating and having sex with an adult character. That to me can be harmful whereas a lot of dynamics in which some proshippers like lolisho depicts it for what it is: abusive. Now claiming it romanticizes or normalizes abuse can be a very blurry line. I don’t fault anyone who likes this dynamic because your thing is not my thing and that’s okay. A lot of people use lolisho to safely gain control of their own sexuality that has been jeopardized by experiences with abuse.

Also lawmakers are oft offending pedophiles themselves and puritanical where they will make anything illegal they find gross. They will censor fiction as they deem fit, the best example is them removing fictional works involving queer theory and race theory because it is “a tool to abuse children.” I don’t think the average lolicon artist or shota fic writer is a predator, in fact a lot of them abhors predation as we should. I don’t know if this makes sense sorry if it doesn’t.

Anyway they won’t allow comments OR reblogs (my guess is so they can stay in their echo chamber and so they don’t have to own up to spreading misinformation) so I’m going to debunk this misinformation here on my own post.

Sharks are, in fact, NOT on the verge of extinction, that is clear by a simple Google search. Certain sharks species are ENDANGERED or VULNERABLE which has nothing to do with JAWS and everything to do with the fishing industry. Of course because they are endangered and vulnerable they RISK extinction in the future but they are not 'on the verge' of it.

Sharks, rays, and similar species are killed NOT because of an American movie but because of overfishing of sharks. In certain cultures, shark fin soup is said to be medicinal and provide a wide range of health benefits. Despite no evidence of such being true, certain cultures still fish for sharks for their fins alone. This is deadly because of the way sharks breathe. They need to be in motion in order to breathe and without their fins they slowly suffocate to death.

Last, lets finally bring up JAWS and why this argument doesn't prove the point of "fiction can affect reality" in the way they think it does. JAWS causing people to be more afraid of sharks did NOT cause shark-finners and shark overfishing to occur or get worse. The "JAWS effect" doesn't actually exist in any meaningful way beyond people from the USA being more afraid of sharks. JAWS did not have that much of an impact in other parts of the world where shark fishing is common. Of course the movie JAWS DID inevitably lead to people killing sharks, but not nearly to the scale most assume. Shark-fishing tournaments were set up and fishermen at the time would catch as many sharks as they could. This did lead to a big decline of sharks in the US east coast due to the overfishing. Keep in mind that this, however, does not account for the millions of sharks killed for their fins every year.

Did JAWS have an impact on the way people (especially in English-speaking countries) saw sharks? Yes it did, the uneducated masses at the time had no idea how sharks actually functioned. Did JAWS cause a decline in shark populations in the US? Yes it did, fishing contests put in place greatly affected the sharks in the East coast of the US. Did this have a greater impact on shark populations as a whole and their decline? Nope! The biggest reasons sharks are endangered as they are now is because of overfishing, shark finning, and bycatch (catching a fish and then discarding it because it isn't the fish you desired/can sell).
