Why the newly-coined-by-DID-tumblr term "Parethnic" is problematic, from an actual poc

the prefix "par" means "the same as"... first of all...this is basically a rephrasing of the term "transracial/transethnic"

According to the definition of Par, this person is insinuating that "out of race" alters have the same experiences and are basically the same as actual people of that race.

and as for the example given, to state "Leliel is a parethnic Japanese person" IS STILL CALLING THEM JAPANESE. This term is SO indsidious due to the fact that no one will know what this term means upon first hearing it; you're still insinuating that they're Japanese, just a "special kind of Japanese". The average person will still believe the alter you are talking about is xyz race.

No matter how hard you try to excuse your racist actions, saying "we would never invade the spaces of PoC" you are still using OUR words. Only Japanese people can call themselves japanese; much like only Black people can call themselves Black, and how only indigenous people can call themselves indigenous.

white systems that think their alters who appear to be out of race are in ANY WAY similar to ACTUAL REAL people of color is the equivalent of children playing house and thinking they're the same as real adults.

you'll be surprised how fast your healing and recovery progresses when you take yourself out of the environments (social media) where your mental illness is seen as a monolith and not something that is fine tuned to each individual. seriously.

the DID community... only acknowledges that DID is real... and then runs with it, thinking they can spread harm and misinformation because people will eat anything up in order to feel valid.

plus, being surrounded by people who are ALL traumatized and in varying states of recovery is NOT good for you. please progress with your recovery outside of a social media environment, do some reflecting and ask yourself if constant exposure to a traumatized community is benefiting you.

So I'm sick. My partner is sick. The world is falling apart and we can't pay our rent or buy my meds.

We were supposed to move to our new studio at the end of this month but everyone in the city has been ordered to stay home so I don't really know what's going on with that.

Since my partner had to stay home from work (their job is considered essential so it's still open) because of the possibility we both have COVID19 we don't have enough money for rent. I know everyone is suffering but if anyone has a little to spare it would really help us so much.

If I want to be able to afford rent and my essential meds (for my heart, my arthritis, and my psych meds) we will probably need $350-400

Please help us. Places are still threatening to evict people despite the order not to. And if it turns out I do have COVID I'm probably going to end up in the hospital soon.

being a system / having did or osdd is an inherently trauma-based mental disorder. the personality literally CANNOT and WILL NOT split apart unless there is trauma before the age of 9. you cannot be a system without having trauma. the definition is in the name, "disassociative disorder-" meaning the alter switch or split cannot occur without severe disassociation, which is INHERENTLY caused by severe trauma.

being transgender is NOT a mental illness based upon trauma, nor the extreme hatred for one's one body. the only thing that makes someone transgender is the thought of, "i am uncomfortable with my assigned gender at birth, and i will change it." the definition is in the name. "transitioned gender," meaning the only requirement to be transgender is to have changed your gender from your assigned one to another. extreme body dysphoria/dysmorphia is not inherent to it.

yes i am officially on break from this blog although that should be known by now because of my extended absences. honestly, i've found what i've wanted to get out of this community (a safe space that also doesn't tolerate DID community clownery, bullshit, ect) and i see no further need for it. it's a really toxic place that doesn't accept marginalized people and pushes misinformation into people's heads. i will still be coming on this blog but not frequently.

i was trying to be nice in the beginning but im just not into that anymore! so many white systems have messaged me and other systems of color claiming to be Hashtag Allies to Poc in the system community!! and yet!! so many of these white people have "out of race alters". and start their messages off with "i have alters of color but..". they act like theyre doing us such a huge favor to us by.. idk.. not saying slurs?? no person of color is going to lick your boots for being one of the "good ones" because you're really not. being white and having so called "alters of color" is harmful to poc PERIOD. the LEAST you can do is keep that to yourself, why are we the ones who have to hear it?
