Monster Hunter Rise Rant...
I feel like I’ve touched on this before in another post but It’s really been bothering me... the village in Rise sucks. I don’t like it. After around 30+ hours in Rise I can’t stand sooo much about the village.
I hate Bun Dango. I miss the mountains of meat and veggies, or soup or anything. I hate how the kitchen doesn’t change, it doesn’t get bigger with new animations, we’re stuck with the same looking kitchen and that same song. (I’ll get too that later) And I don’t mind the simplified way the food works but I’d also like more customization in terms of preparation. I miss the old systems where you could make dish and change how it’s prepped that gives different bonuses. Most of the characters are just... boring? Yes, we the twins are adorable but are also pretty flat in the character department. I miss the marm from 4u and her weird relationship with every monster, or the street cook ect.
The music is good but I’m at the point where I mute the tv when I’m in the village. I hate the dango song, it’s annoying. I can’t stand the background village music, I don’t know what they did different but it’s just annoying. 4U village music? Fantastic, 3U, World, hell even Generations Ultimate is all fine. Rise however is just not great, it sounds like a 30 second loop, and adding words does not help it at all. And the lead up to monsters is bad, I’m still sour about the lead up to Magnamalo because it didn’t feel like a flagship. It was mentioned maybe twice before the fight but that was it. The fight against him was good but the lead up was just bad. I ended up feeling like it was just another monster I killed, same as if I just killed Anjanath or something else. A good fight but just... lacking impact. And I feel like that encapsulates the whole of Rise for me. The hunts are amazing, everything else is just boring, poorly done or just... average. Everything outside of the hunts has been done way better in previous games.  Rant done, I’m back to go grind out some more zinogre plates.

Monster Hunter Rise... some complaints
Okay... First off I love Monster Hunter Rise, it’s probably more addicting to me than World was and is ALMOST the perfect blend of Classic hunter games and World’s modernness... almost.
One of my first main issues that rooted it’s self at the very beginning of my playtime was the main theme for the village. It’s lovely the first time you hear it but I muted the BGM because it got beyond annoying. Previous games had fantastic hub/village music but Rise decided to go with vocals for some reason? That just adds to the annoyingness of it as it clearly repeats quite quickly.
The charm is there in some areas but not others. Where is my poogie? He’s GONE! Where is the ability to flop into your bed? Gone I guess? The bun dango or whatever is cute but again... overstays it’s welcome. I’ve not seen it change or anything even when getting new ingredients or seemingly upgrading it. While it’s cute the first time I skip it every time now.
WHY AM I FIGHTING MONSTERS! Okay... previous games always gave reasons to fight big monsters, like “oohhh this one is blocking our path to the mine... kill it!” and you did. But now I’m fighting Zinogre and other fan favorite monsters without reason. It feels like how Generations Ultimate did things but at least in that game it made sense because it was a “greatest hits” collection style... Rise is pretending to have a story but it boils down to “Do 4-5 hunts and do an urgent.”
The Flagship... I loved my fight with Marshmellow. It was great, it was tense it was the first fight that actually was difficult. But the lead up was awful. Remember 4U where you saw/fought Gore 2-3 times before the final fight, and all the conversations were like “Ohh know one knows who he is, the ace squad almost was wiped because of him” and it added to that power fantasy at the end... Marshmellow is just like “Oh, yeah he’s been around... kill him.” and you do and that’s it. No special arena either even though I fully expected it because he was “lured into a trap” but... also wasn’t? I left the fight feeling like “oh... uhm... okay anyways.” and that’s not okay after fighting a flagship.
It’s just... easy? I’m not a pro hunter at all but I’m breezing through quests against monsters that carted me several times in past games like Khezu, Rathian and others. I’ve only carted once because my controller was having a bad drift day.
Now I love Rise, and I’m honestly so addicted but I’m not seeing anyone talk about these issues so maybe I’m alone? I just needed to get this out there somewhere. Love you all and Happy Hunting!

Yup... I'm floored by how good Rise is. It feels soooo smooth. All my worries about lack of control or the wirebug melted away quite quickly.
Like... How did we actually just... Run around maps with out palimutes or the wirebug?!

I've been playing by monster Hunter rise demo quite a bit and... I'm enjoying it.
I'm not the biggest fan of the wirebug, maybe I just cant get the hang of it?
I can't stand the character voice.
And that's about it... For me the biggest issue is the wirebug, I feel like im playing at a disadvantage becuase I cant figure it out, I can't walk climb either. This one mechanic has gone from making this a 100% purchase to... Probaly going to buy it...
What are your thoughts?

Confession time... ... ... I never fought Bazelgeuse in world. He appeared in quests but I never bothered fighting or hunting him.
