Mastery Journal  Business Plan-Final Project

Before the class started my expectations were to give me a better way to present and conduct a good business plan through communication and time management. When I understood in week three, we were to complete a presentation of our business plan I didn’t know how I was going to make it through. Our professor prepped us from start to finish. Why the business plan is important, the do’s and don’ts, and what an investor will be looking for in your presentation as it relates to your business plan. The class discussed the importance of an elevator pitch grabbing the investor attention from the very start. Several sections related to investment and financial information giving the class a better breakdown of why, who, what, and where. The professor was awesome as he delivered positive energy consistently for the live sessions giving you a better way to understand each lesson plan so you can pay attention without the boredom. This course expressed management skills while being in a manager position how and when to conducted leadership styles. The professor went over how to be productive as it relates to career opportunities. Consistent supported documentation on business resources to help start up your own business operation such as Entrepreneurial websites.  The information given to me in this class will be a great contribute to my own establishment once it’s ready to take off. Leading me to be more confident when discussing business, debt, equity financing, income, balance sheets, cash flow statements, startup cost, taxes, and business ethics. The last week class spoke on career building and development which it being the last class and lesson out of the program really lets the students know that the not only does the professor care about your end career path but the school is routing for your success, this is good to know and was a great experience I will never forget.

Business Plan Development Mastery Journal

During this class weekly activities, I was able to get not only motivational but inspirational material. Typical I came into the class thinking it would give me growth, understanding of creative a business plan, why this is important and key factors needed to produce effectiveness. Building your business and what aspects are needed no matter how small or how large it’s important to know the tools and methods to establish credible content. This course help build some of my self-confidence, I feel you are freer, once you are in the known.

Marketing and Sales are the biggest components when ensuring you will be profitable. Budgeting yourself in a three-year based to predict an outcome. Knowing your cost of good and having the opportunity to express why, how, who, and what of your company. Knowing your competition, establishing a brand, know your target market, and it’s okay to reply in other resources. It’s important to be detailed yet brief. Learning how to manage your financial asset as investors want to know they will receive their funds timely and profit. Investors look at the business plan as stability, they need to know the numbers and need to know how you got all your answer, that you know exactly what it is your doing.

As an entrepreneur you are at risk of playing many roles in your business to ensure all needs are met and timely. Marketing will be 20 percent of your sales and this is very important to the inventors for them to know how you will be attracting your customers. This course is just one of the many that will play a major role in my key success as I move on to complete my life goals and execute my plans. Your plan provides you a though of what to expect and things can go wrong you will fail several times. All of the course taught one major lesson and that is to research. Finding the solution is to go out and look.

Entertainment Media Publishing and Distribution Mastery Journal

Having the ability and the understanding of what and why this class was important. What is publishing and distribution? How, when, and why, we need to use it within the entertainment business. Protecting the rights of others within the entertainment industry and dealing with professional business documentation.

The different categories within the entertainment industry requires specific content relating to Film, music, or books production, the need for an agent to help solicit your work. Having an agent that will shop creative content is important with protection of your work, leading to royalties and other offers within the entertainment business.  This class helped with recognizing the different types of publishers in detail. MDP also gave students an opportunity to create a pitch for creative content, and press kits in favor of film, music, and book. Discovering the varieties as it relates to licenses and why they are important to your product of industry.

This class gave me great resources to further my exploration as it relates to media and distribution. The course explained why and what aggregator and print-on-demand is, which can help with self- publishing your creative content through vendors and at a low rate. The course details will help when it’s time to publish my creative content. Whether it’s an idea for my business or to manage an artist. Factoring aspects of what is needed to produce content to the right personnel and to ensure distribution is solicited correctly. To manage an upcoming artist sending out the correct query letters to qualified agents. Agent will have to believe in the artist to move their content for deals, sponsorships, proper licenses, and or mechanical services toward the proper professionals. This was a great opportunity to discover the proper methods and understand fully why distribution is fundamental for the entertainment business.

Mastery Journal Advanced Entertainment Law

Throughout my classes it has be a continuous discussion of protection and having knowledge that can help you through each step of the entertainment business. The class, Advanced Entertainment Law has produced strong legal and fundamental principles to use and benefit from as it relates to any legal conflicts. Previously I highlighted specific concerns that I would like to get more clarification on in this class which was understanding contract get more information on policies and principles, this will better form my business correctly and professional. Class tools related to research, get professional help when necessary, know who you are working for or with, protect your rights along with others, do onto others as you want others to do onto you and review everything you sign or have others sign, leading a better manager position and create security. During the course it reflected on properly executing terms and services of a contract and how you can be affected with no legal liabilities within your company, why and how a contract can be beneficial to one party and not the other, knowing what to look for before agreeing or asking other party to agree. Copyrights secure any aspect of your intellectual property as it relates to original works by a person or persons. Trademarks protect any domain name, business name or logos, and even the products and services formula. This class also reiterates the importance of forming proper use of liabilities; assault and battery, false imprisonment, infliction of emotional distress, misrepresentation, wrongful inference with contracts, wrongful interference with business relationships, and dram shop acts, reflecting on a company in which I chose to perform knowing your business is safe from claims will help navigate you through your preparation process and seeing that protecting your company with correct copyrights and trademarks formulation.

Mastery Journal PAM

This class was very informative giving me a better understanding of the daily process and performance as it relates to artist and product management. Reviewing each class weeks material, I was able to gasps a clearer image of what the specifics of management references to. Knowing your target audience, to be more relatable, and profitable. To understand the need and wants of your products it services. To support your audience with life changing experiences through our products or services. Enhancing their abilities to bark upon new social commerce. Finding the right social media outlets and using their insights to promote your business in most fan-based areas. This will help me within my promotion aspect to target the areas that reacts to my events and are more active. Leadership styles are important knowing how and which ones to use during low or high cases. Adapting is very considerable in this management as you will be dealing with different personalities and morals. Researching and recognizing the resources provided to help you understand your specific business and working toward improvements. Finding your niche and learning to deliver your products/services to your audience in a fashionable and accurate design. Knowing what the customer wants and how to make them pay attention.  Demographic, sex, age, race, and generation have very important role to play in finding your audience and keeping them. Which age group participate in larger spending habits, which race has a larger entertainment participation, which areas support your cause or just pay attention more, these are all important mindsets to think about to create the best marketing tool for a marketing profitable product/service. This class produce real life scenarios that may occur within this field and challenging you must overcome. Another life learned lesson that I can use throughout my lifetime and future lifestyles.

Mastery Journey for Negotiations and Deal Making.

My goals were maintaining structure, understanding how to form contracts and having the ability to develop strong mediation skills. I want to be able to build a strong foundation and get better mediation skills helping better understands of how to approach each and every situation that I made come across. This course helped me to have better communication skills and to be aware of every person’s diverse culture. To be aware of client’s body language and do your research on each and every client that you are going to be involved with in order to help you understand what the clients underlying interests are, their bargaining position and how it will profit not only your company but theirs.  Build a rapport learn to have a positive attitude, listen to the client’s approach and be respectful making sure you get a clear idea of their four-communication style which were taught in this course: the thinker, inspirer, commander, and the quiet supporter. Each communication style helped to discuss clear terms with a different approach. I realized that I’m an inspirer,willing to help and understand why each party wants their specific deal details. Having details laid out and creating a contract with possible deal options. I was able to get a better understanding of provisions as it relates to contracts being conducted and creating a safe and well-constructed contract that includes provisions relative to the case.  An Arbitration is an unexpansive and faster way to settle a dispute without going to court. This is a private and will not be for publish records. The course activities helped me to develop a better way to deliver a new foundation when mediations factors are in place. I have enjoyed this course and it gave me a better understand on medications and what to look for.

Mastery Journal Digital Marketing

 My goal was to get more insights on the digital marketing world and what exactly it consist of. To get a better understanding of what methods are used and how to use digital marketing for my specific business type. 

 The course did meet my goal by describing a better understanding of two marketing strategies which are traditional and digital. They both are ways to grab and get your audience attention. Traditional marketing deals with billboards, flyers, television, and or radio advertisements or campaigning. Digital marketing relates to the use of electronic technology to promotion your product or service. These are two very important ways to express or introduce your business and it’s product and service. 

The things I learned from this course is to know what your goal is and to whom and what you are trying to relay your message too. Analysis is important for your business it will help build and grow your business. It forces on any audience that may stop by your sites for exploration. Tracking your activity will help you work on your flaws and recreate the structure toward your specific group as it relates to your audience. Setting your KPIs will increase your goal performance and direct your attention to focus on the objectives and why. As you are trying to maintain your customer value, traffic within your sites, social media, and such will measure positive and negative factors. 

  The skills inquired will help with my business needs. Finding a strategy that works will increase and maintain the success within the campaign. Figuring out the proper KPIs and using analytics to help the business reach positive feedback will definitely be useful especially through digital marketing. The business will be targeted toward teenagers so both traditional and digital marketing will increase awareness. Following these tactics are keys for improvement and growth. Social media platforms are great for brand building. The course helped me understand how to configure and track activities that will boost awareness for the business.

Entertainment Business Finance

In my class Entertainment Business Finance, it taught me the importance of understanding and the need for listing expenses, investments, interest rates, and percentages. The class discussed break even meaning how many hours, services or events will be needed to be able to pay up a loan and still achieve positive revenue. Paying attention to financial statements and seeing what assets, liability, cash flows, balance sheets, business ownership and how it reflects your annual documentation. This class will help me along my business process to be able to know exactly what I’m doing and to arrange my business accordingly as it relates to loans and or my annual revenue and what is expected. This class will help me through my funding and organization process leading up to my opening and maintaining my business. I expected the class to deliver Strategies that will help me through financial choices and best decision making. Going forward I will now be able to know how and what to look for if I will potentially need a loan to forward my business process and achieve the best rate possible and ask all the right questions when the time comes. This class gave me a description on specific stocks, retirement offers, and even the insurance not just for my business. Life long investments can help you achieve early retirement, boost your sales, and or provide for your family expense further down the line. It is very necessary to know what is needed before you can open your business and what items you will be faced to pay upfront before you can perform business duties. I’ve learned that each need whether small as office supplies, or even electric bill can change your overall expenses which will enhance your requirements.

Entertainment Business Master’s Degree program personal development and Branding

This course I was hoping to explore the aspects of building and understanding the foundation behind the concept of branding yourself and or your company as a whole. That this class will give me the knowledge to construct and base my business to where it will leave an imprint. Giving me the tools to research and apply them to what I outlined my business to represent. This class did just that. “Your brand is not what you say it is but what the people say it is”, convinced me that your customer play a major part in your brands outcome and their connection to your brand will help deliver its outcome. Their negative and positive feedback will help you in your journey and that changes will be consistent. It’s important to know why your business manners and who your audience is. Being able to resonate with your audience by storytelling and presenting a visual to showcase each aspect of your business concept is valuable, keeping in mind that creativity is key. Your companies corporate culture, providing a group of individuals with the same passion and reflecting their talents and positive work ethic with rewards can inspire and move your company to greater success. You must set key standards and measure for your industry. Positive and negative feedback not only from your customers but employees are huge it helps create growth. Setting measurable goals and use your social media platforms to expand and get your business recognized, spread the word. This class also touched on some copyright Necessities and the why and where to look to accomplish this to especially with your logo and business name. The class teacher was very helpful and ensured all topics were addressed effectively and answered any questions that where presented to him, favorite class so far.

Project team management seemed very challenging at first. Every week seem more challenging then the task before but once you applied your knowledge from last week to the next it was more rewarding. This class inspired me, turning my focus on team ethic and how it’s very important. Having an understanding of your employees and the process of developing a project plan that works. Adopting to conflicts that can occur within the workplace and recognizing the risks and applying them within your planning process. Teammates have disagreements and issues happen during the process of a project. This was one of my favorite school weeks as I can apply this to anything, I typically do in life to avoid risks or manage them as they arrive. “Details change by the hour—even by the minute—in the course of a typical event professional’s day. Your ability to make decisions, track progress, enact contingency plans, and provide meaningful updates to stakeholders relies on having up-to-the-second reporting.”("5 Key Ingredients for Flawless Event Execution," 2017).

I also appreciated learning how to explore with adobe pro, gantt chart, and resource sheet which both are respected software items within the project management format. This was a better way to track, monitor, plan, assign, and budget your project before actually constructing it. Project management methodologies I found useful which have explored numerous ways to develop and finalize projects depending on the circumstances. I will definitely apply these methods to enhance my job performance whether it’s planning a live event or even working with an artist to maintain business structure. This class also helped to explore the personality and behavior styles which I feel is great getting a better understanding of your workers will improve and generate better working environment and the ability to hiring your need within the workplace. Each personality and behavior contribute to the healthiness of your work force. Establishing little or too much with break the balance. This will also apply balance toward the manager in position where they lack employees can build that foundation. This boils down to knowing your work environment construct balance and plan accordingly to deliver professional, stable and financial maintenance.

Leadership Mastery Journal Post

To lead is to have patience, communication, and direction. I’ve questioned myself many times on my leadership. Readings on Greene stood out, Law 9: “Win through your actions, never through your argument.” (Greene, R.,2000). For many years I argue every incident trying to fight through my life experiences. Thinking if I had a situation I would debate it and through that give me the results I needed. Learning from this reading and applying it throughout my life style daily which in action better results. I’ve become more patient and gasping the ability to listen more and not reaction instantly with words from my thoughts without thinking fully through the incident. We all have flaws and boundaries. Arguments can lead to resentment change in character and even point of view lowering your chances to excel in your life and career. “Even the best argument has no solid foundation, for we all come to distrust the slippery nature of words.”(Greene, R., 2000). Working at my current job many of my clients are confused which leads to them to become upset frequently. Which they tend to lash out verbally with negative comments. I have learned over time why this occurs and to choose my responses effectively in at the end re-directing them to help solve any of their concerns. This is appropriate when dealing with customer service and any workplace learning to except the customer’s concerned and try to figure out any other resolution to help them. I will constantly have multiple situations with customers and have to respond timely and they may have concerns or disagreements. Solving their problem in a positive manner and not acting in a negative way will help maintain a good rapport. The goal is to not feed off negativity but to enhance, as this will be a steppingstone in any situation.
