I had a post written up while I was gone, but I'm diasappointed to see that no one even noticed my absence.
Anyway, I tried to John Hooke myself last week.
I couldn't cope with the heartache that I'm still carrying around with me. It was like trying to cover a gunshot wound with a bandaid.
So, yeah. I'm alive, but I'm not okay.
Guess that's it.

One of the eldritch founders of the Royal Society. You have to dodge his projectile vomit and stab him in the weak point (the hunch). He drops the Mechanick's Badge and a recipe for Hot Chocolate.

Newton believed that the 144,000 virgins mentioned in the Book of Revelation referred to a select few who were chosen by god to understand the truth of the prophecies.
These "saints" are not necessarily Christians. They are not even necessarily virgins, but are "undefiled by women" in the sense that they are sexually pure and not given to any perversions.
In addition, they also follow a fairly simple moral code:
In general, these chosen few can be interpreted as the truth seekers and critical thinkers who are met with hostility by those who would silence and deplatform them. Newton is encouraging here, considering such treatment to be a badge of honor.

Aside from the scheduled translations, I have a couple of other goals for this year.
One is to upgrade my cosplay, bit by bit. I have a new wig, some embellishments, and plans for sewing a custom waistcoat.
I've also taken up roller skating. To be honest I'm not very good at it, but I wanted to choose a physical activity that would help keep me grounded while also giving me a new skill to explore. My plan was to git gud enough to make use of the new skate park, but even if I can't, I'll just take more walks.
And finally, I might be able to acquire a new skull. I'm currently waiting for the body to finish decomposing.
I'm also considering making an Instagram. Does anyone use it? Is it worth it?
