I published my first QuinObi!

Here's a little snippet for fun.... read it all on AO3.

“Obi?” Kit repeated with patience.

“My hyperdrive ring disconnected mid-hyperspace. R4 and I are fine, and the ship is fine. But, the ring’s gone. I’m near Karfeddion, though, so I plan to land and figure something out, likely head to Asmeru. No need for a rescue yet. I merely wanted to call it in per protocol.”

“Karfeddion?” Aayla said with some alarm.

“Yes, according to R4’s scan.”

“My master’s there on a mission. Don’t blow his cover,” she said.

Obi-Wan’s stomach did a little dance at the mention of Quinlan. He wouldn’t be able to see him, of course, he knew that. Maybe he’d catch a glance, but they certainly couldn’t interact. Definitely not with him landing in a Jedi Starfighter.

“I won’t. But that’s helpful information to know, so thank you. He never tells me where he goes until after he’s back.”

“Yes, he is rather good at his secrets,” Kit said, mouth quirking into a little smirk. 

Just as Obi-Wan knew Kit’s secrets, the Nautolan knew his as well.

“We’re in the next system over. We can be there in two standard days. No need to go to Asmeru, plus we can recover your ship for inspection,” Aayla said, very matter-of-fact.

“Thank you. I’ll be on the surface. Just call when you exit hyperspace and I’ll meet you. No need to alert the locals to our rendezvous.”

“While you’re down there, try hard not to blow Quinlan’s, uh, cover.” Kit grinned, and Obi-Wan couldn’t help the rushing heat to his face and neck.

dear anon who didn’t write me but I have thoughts on this, Deep Blue Sea is one of my favorites. It’s everything @enchantedbyhiddles describes, and indeed is just dependent on what you like. I loved it though; there’s so many quiet, subtle elements in it that resonated with me. But it is quite emotional and a bit depressing. I remember leaving it, after seeing it in the theater, and feeling just entirely raw emotionally. I needed time afterwards to compose myself and just feel things. Similar to my experience watching Cloud Atlas, but... I mean that one was a different emotion but similarly raw. I definitely recommend it, but watch it when you’re in the right space for a slow moving plot that is driven by character emotion more than by action.

I didn't have the opportunity to watch I Saw The Light or The Deep Blue Sea. Are they both good movies ? Should i bought the dvd ?

I haven’t watched I Saw The Light and I won’t do it in the future for personal issues with the subject. From what I hear the movie isn’t really good, because the direction is bad, but Tom’s performance as Hank Williams is really good. 

The Deep Blue Sea is also a movie that depends on what you like. London in the 1950s. Married upperclass woman starts an affair with a younger WWII-pilot with PTSD. She demands deep love and security, he is living in the moment. Drama ensues. It is based on a theatre play and the movie is very theatre-like with some slow-motion and nice classical music. It’s a solid, but slow-moving movie and the performances are great. For me it certainly had its wonderful moments, but it isn’t one of my favourites.

So I’m sorry, that I can’t really be of help. I guess if you want to watch them and can get them cheap, it is never wrong to get a Tom-DVD. Especially since he is a the lead in both. If you’re not sure about the subject though, maybe try to rent them somewhere.

i would hope this is self explanatory, but because tumblr is increasingly turning imo a bigger piece of shit as the days go on and because Instagram and twitter aren’t great formats for sharing fics….you guys really really need to support writers on ao3.

everytime you read a fic and enjoy it? leave a kudos. if you have 5 minutes free? leave a short comment (“loved it!” “great job!” “this was so funny” “amazing work”). hell, if you really enjoyed it, bookmark it. ao3 is pretty much the only platform that fandom writers can use at this point to post all of their writing and get a significant amount of engagement. it’s hard to get reblogs on tumblr on a good day, and twitter is basically only good for sharing headcanons and posting links.

engagement is the only way that we know a fic is worth continuing. if you want your favorite writers to keep updating and keep writing those fics you stay up until 3am writing, please tell us. please contribute to our stats. please rec fics. please share fics you like with your friends and followers. just rep writers as much as you can.
