Hi.
The name is Lamech. I draw, write and adore all things under the wide umbrella of the supernatural. (If you are looking for pure art, follow me on instagram at @lamech_obrien.)
i learned about a little practical things of the past no longer exist today
In Victorian England they were called stair dust corners and that tells you exactly what they were for.
Here on my island I could use something like that because I live here without a vacuum cleaner and clean the apartment with brooms and mops and I like it very much.
But a broom doesn't get the corners as clean as such a narrow attachment for the vacuum cleaner.
And these decorative little metal corners solved this problem in a stylish way.
"A cishet person must have made this, no queer person would ever portray queerness in this way."
"This artist must be white."
"No SA victim would ever handle the subject in this way."
"No woman would ever write women like this."
"This creator is obviously neurotypical. Everyone with autism/ADHD/depression understands-"
Nope.
People who make these blanket statements are very frequently proven wrong when the creator comes out as a member of that group. And even when they aren't proven wrong, even in cases where the creator isn't from the group in question, actual members of the group who don't fit whatever arbitrary criteria are being expressed will see these statements and feel excluded and erased.
Not everyone in your group is going to share your experiences. No single individual gets to personally decide what does or doesn't count as a "valid" expression of trauma or being part of a particular group, and creators are also not obligated to out themselves in order to "prove" their validity.
If something doesn't resonate with you, all that means is that it doesn't resonate with you. You don't have to like it. But you don't get to decide what it means to someone else.
We are a country of immigrants, descendants of immigrants and indigenous people.
Basically, anything goes.
Go to one house and it's a simple bowl of cereal and milk.
And at another house it's pancakes and bacon.
And at another house it's shashuka.
And at another house it's congee.
And at another it's bagel with cream cheese and lox.
And at another it's fried chicken and waffles.
And at another it's a sausage and biscuit.
And at another it's huevos rancheros.
There is really no "traditional American breakfast." What you are most likely to eat depends on which region you are in and the make up of that region.
Ik there are usamericans following me I have a question for yall , what the fuck do y'all even eat . Like . The typical huge greasy American breakfast has to be an exaggeration but I really can't think of meals that don't contain stuff exclusive to my country and do you guys even have that honestly
The Langobards/Lombards/Longobards are an Italic-Germanic tribe with origins in southern Scandinavia around the first centuries B.C. and A.D.
Their steady migration southward can be retraced by archaeological artifacts, which show their Scandinavian origin.
Their early connections to (the geographical city of) Rome made them very influential in the Western Roman world; on financial, military, religious but also law practice and kingship levels.
The Lombards were quickly christened and were the founding fathers of many religious institutions in northern Italy, ruled Italy, and adapted/adopted Roman Law, making for a culturally rich period. Their capital Pavia is located in the Italian province of Lombardy, named after, you guessed it.
It has to be said (it sounds like a fake fact but is not) that their name means “Long Beards”. In many European languages the descriptive name can be heard in “Langobard” also written as “Longobard”.
“I have lived the lives of Napoleon, Caesar, d’Artagnan. So I always encourage young people to read books, because it’s an ideal way to develop a great memory and a ravenous multiple personality. And then at the end of your life you have lived countless lives, which is a fabulous privilege.”
— Umberto Eco, born on this day in 1932
