#6 Frozen 2

You're probably all wondering why I chose Frozen 2 over the original movie. Well you'll find out during my review.

I wanna start by saying this movie has a much better plot than the original. It included both characters equally, I believe in the first movie it targeted Anna more than it did Elsa when they both deserved equal attention. This movie was also way more emotional than the other movie it had me crying tears of joy and sadness at the same time which is a quality I find important in a movie. The original movie also made Elsa look like the villain for the most of the movie when she didn't deserve that at all, she was in a position none of us could understand. One aspect I did enjoy more in the first movie was the love between sisters, I have two older sisters and seeing this sister love makes me think of my sisters and how happy I am that we're all very close and share this love for one another. Now that I addressed why the first movie wasn't my favrouite let's talk about why the second one is my favrouite.

First things first Anna and Elsa both looked AMAZING in this movie, the editors did a great job with their appearance. Both sisters look so much older and more mature than the first movie. I loved this small detail since it showed us that they both grew since the first movie and have more knowledge on how to work together. I love that they changed their outfits completely and didn't reuse the original ones, this proves to me they put effort into this movie.

In this movie I have two favorite songs that I can't pick in between the first song is, into the unknown. The vocals in this song are amazing there is no doubt if you disagree you're wrong, simple as that. Idina Menzel who voices Elsa did amazing she hits a whole ton of high notes perfectly, I was genuinely in shock the first time I heard this song the vocals were just amazing. The vocals in this song are WAY better than the vocals in, let it go, she truly outdid herself with this song. Another thing I loved about this song is how much we find out about the past of the kingdom, in most Diseny songs there is a story however in this one it was so clear and easy to follow even without the visualls I understand what is going on and i just enjoy the fact that the stroy was so clear.

The next song I love is Lost in the Woods. This was the first time we truly saw Kristoff's emotions, I never really knew what was going on in his head but after listening to this song it made everything more clear. This song made me see him as more of a main character than a secondary character, it definitely gave him more of a personality. Jonathan Groff killed this song, his voice was so smooth and the words just rolled off his tongue, I remember obsessing over this song for at least 3 months. I downloaded this song while walking out of the movie theater and played it on repeat for the next 2 weeks, there wasn't a day that passed without me listening to it for a very long time. I remember being in grade 10 math class and listening to this song everyday with my friend Sasha.

This scene right here where Olaf dies broke me, I didn't recover for a few days. Olaf is my favorite character he makes me think of my dad with his personality and jokes so watching him die had me bawling my eyes out. I don't think he deserved his death so i'm happy he came back at the end of the movie, if he hadn't this definitely wouldn't be in my top 10. He is such a lovable character so if he didn't end up coming back I would never forgive Disney. During his death I just wanted to walk out of the theater it was unacceptable.

I can't really think of any negatives about this movie, it's just not the first movie I would pick to watch when i'm bored. I love this movie so much I just wouldn't be able to watch it every week like I could my number 1, I feel like I would get tired of the movie if I watched it to much, which is way I won't watch it to often but when I do, god I love it. For those reasons I rate this movie 6 out of 10 of my favorite Disney movies.

#1 movie hint: Christina Aguilera sang one song in this movie and it said it launched her career.

#7 Lady and the Tramp

Lady and the tramp is definitely a movie we all watched as kids that we most likely forgot about, that was the case for me. However, when I decided to rewatch this movie I remember how much I loved it.

The first aspect I love about this movie is a very small detail that can't go unnoticed. I loved the fact that Lady called her owners Darling and Jim dear since that is what she always heard them call each other. This is just a cute aspect and small detail that made the movie just so much better.

Lady was a cocker spaniel which was the perfect type of dog to cast her as. Her breed just added to her, she is adorable and the way she looks fits her name so well. Her name fits her personality there is no denying that. She looks so innocent and put together which makes the name Lady perfect for her. After watching this movie and seeing how adorable she is, it made me want a dog so so bad. My mom didn't let that happen because our cats wouldn't like it(I still want Lady as a dog anyway).

Now, I can't talk about Lady and the tramp without talking about the most iconic scene in Disney history in my opinion. I think about the scene almost daily, it's such a cute and innocent scene. I always found this scene to be so sweet and I wish I could rewatch it for the first time again since it just made me so happy. As a little girl I wanted to live this scene, growing up I see how it would be a little weird for this to happen, but that doesn't take away from me loving this scene. This scene made me believe in love.

The only reason this movie isn't higher up on the list is because the sound track was a major flop. Anytime a song was playing I would get so bored, this movie was released in the 50s so the music fit for the time frame. However, i'm not a fan of music from the 50s so it definitely didn't add anything to the movie for me, I just wanted to skip the parts when there was a song playing.

In conclusion, there's no doubt this movie made me believe in romance and also proved to me you'll do anything for the ones you love. It has all the right small details to make the movie such a great watch and make you a little emotional. However because of the music choice the movie is ranked 7 out of 10 on my list.

#8 Princess and the frog

This movie is without a doubt a classic disney movie. It has some of the best soundtracks of any disney movie, amazing characters, and a beautiful friendship that should never go unnoticed.

First things first I want to talk about my favorite song: Dig a little deeper. This is definitely one of my favorite Disney songs ever because of its catchy rhythm and nice message. This song is about finding who you are even if you believe you've already found your true self. I think it's a great message that is super easy to understand the first time listening to the song it's something i understood right away. It also has such a catchy beat that makes me want to listen to the song all the time. I remeber fist time I watched the movie once I was older I downloaded this song right away and it can be found in almost every single playlist I have, I get so excited evrytime this song comes on, it's the best way to start my day. The vocals in this song flow so nicely with the beat and fit the song so well, I couldn't imagine any other voice.

The best disney friendship by far is Charlotte and Tianas. Charlotte grew up as the richest family in town and never made Tiana feel bad about her situation. Charlotte supports Tiana her whole life and never leaves her side which is something I wish I had. Even when Tiana becomes a princess which was Charlotte's dream she never made her feel bad or ruined their relationship, she supported her 100%. In my opinion, Charlotte is the friend everyone wishes they had when only a select few truly do. I want a friend like Charlotte, from how she looks and how she acts towards others she dosen't seem like the best person but I love that the writers made her a very good friend and likeable character and not a villan or fake friend to Tiana.

Finally, I want to talk about Ray. Ray is my favorite character in this movie and definitely a top 5 favorite character over all. He's hilarious every everytime he speaks im dying of laughter. One of my favorite lines is "Don't make me light my butt" I think about this line often it's something I just can't forget because of how i was rolling with laughter. Unfortunately, Ray dies at the end of the movie, his death destroyed me. Whenever I watch this movie and it reaches this part i'm bawling my eyes out by the end and need to find comfort in the chips i'm eating. One aspect about his death that has me crying tears of joy however, is when he lights up as a star next to evangaline, his one true love. The whole movie he wasn't able to even get close to evagaline but he gets to rest next to her for eternity which makes me so unbelievably happy that even tho he passed he still got his happy ending.

The reason this movie isn't ranked higher on the list is because this is a movie I watched as a kid but as I grew up and forgot about it. One night when I was bored and wanted to watch a movie I just happend to stumble across the princess and the frog, i do truly love this movie and think about Ray constently but the rest of the movie is easy to forget. When rewatching it I also realised how much I don't like the villan, I know the villan isn't supposed to be liked but I didn't enjoy the type of villan he was or what he would do, I never really saw a motive, he was boring.

For all of these reasons i'm rating this movie number 8 out of 10 best disney movies.

#9 Moana

Moana is a more recent disney movie released in 2016. I remember watching this movie for the first time and falling in love with it immediately. the amazing plot and sound track really made this movie as popular as it is.

To start, the beginning of this movie is really what hooked me into watching the rest. If the beginning doesn't hook me it's hard to make me wanna finish the movie but the start of this movie has an amazing hook. Starting with the legend of Te Fiti was a great way to interest me in the movie and perfectly explain the backstory of the movie. Showing us that the water chose moana as a baby is great to foreshadow that the water will help her later on in the movie. Once her dad told her she couldn't go near the water I was very interested to see how it would affect their relationship. We do see her respect her dads wishes but soon enough she does turn against him which I knew would happen but it still had me a little bit excited to see what would happen after.

Maui is by far my favorite character , he doesn't fail to make ma laugh, he has an amazing character development and casting Dwayne Johnson as his voice actor was the perfect choice. To start, the scream he does when he first meets moana had me choking on a chip the first time I heard it since I just laughed so hard. He had some great one liners like 'Boat snack' while grabbing her chicken, 'You're not selling it 'you're measuring the stars not giving the sky a high-five' and many many more. Something that really made this character as amazing as they are is Dwayne Johnson being the voice actor for Maui. He was already a very funny actor all of his movies make me laugh, he has the perfect delivery and his voice fits the character so well. Finally, I believe he has one of the most emotional character development in the disney franchise. He starts as an arrogant and cocky person who over time grows close and starts to care for others and not only himself. One of the most emotional parts of this development is when he trusts Moana enough to tell her about how his parents abbonded him as a baby and how he wonders why he wasn't good enough for them. That scene leaves me in tears every time, watching it in my bed for the first time and crying because of how emotional it made me is all I can think about when it comes to this scene.

One of the best songs in this movie is 'How far i'll go'. After this movie was released this song was trending almost immediately It's an amazing song. I still wish I could experience listening to it for the first time again, I remember loving this song right away and downloading it on my phone immediately. The story behind the song is very inspirational talking about finding your way into your own world, it honestly had me take another look at life and showing me that no one can make any desisions for me and I make my own at the end of the day.

My absolute favorite song is this movie is Shiny. This song is just about how much he loves shiny things. However I love this song because of how catchy this song is, I normally find myself humming to this song because it just has that catchy beat. I also love his voice it goes perfectly with the song it rolls off his tongue just right. Finally I love that he gets so passionate while singing this song that Maui and Moana were able to escape while he was singing makes me laugh just thinking about it right now. This is just a fun uobeat and happy song that boosts my mood every time I listen to it.

The reason this movie isn't higher up on the list is because it's a little more recent and doesn't exactly have that disney feeling. This is a great movie that I love watching it just dosen't exctly seem like a disney movie.

In conclusion, this movie is no doubt a favorite in many peoples eyes, with the emotional aspect, perfect casting and the amazing soundtrack how can you not love this movie.

#10 Cinderella

The cinderella movie is without a doubt a classic disney movie. It was one of the first disney movies I remember watching. As a kid it was also one of my favorite movies, I would always watch it at my grandparents house since they had it on DVD.

This was one of my favrouite movies because I believe the opening scene is so well done. It starts by explaining her back story which always had me upset, hearing that she lost her mother and not soon after lost her father always made me think of my parents and how I wouldn't want to lose them. However, once it switches over to her being woken up by birds I always wished that I could've been woken up like that, it seemed like such a peaceful way to wake up and seems like a much better way then hearing your grandma snoring while watching the movie.

Another reason this is in my top 10 favorite movies is because of the scene we all know and love, when fairy godmother appears and prepares Cinderella for the ball. As a little girl whenever I saw this scene all I wanted was for my grandma to become a fairy godmother and turn me into a beautiful princess. This scene brings me so much joy since we just watched her heart get broken when her dress was destroyed. Watching her turn into a gorgeous princess made me so happy, I was glad she got the chance to go to the ball and prove to herself that her step-mom and step-sisters couldn't do anything to stop her.

I can't do a review on Cinderella without mentioning the classic ballroom dance scene. Obviously, this is an amazing scene, watching her get picked over by everyone else is so fulfilling. Their first scene dancing together really shows the chemistry they had, they danced together so nicely everything flowed. They then proceeded to spend the entire evening together which just proved to us more they were perfect together.

Last but not least, the glass slipper scene. This scene starts out stressful, she's locked in a room and we're not sure she's gonna get out in time to see the prince. The first time watching this scene it had me on the edge of my grandma's couch praying she would get there. Now imagine my excitement when she gets downstairs and we all watch her put on the shoe and find out it fits. I was beyond excited that the prince found her again and she got to leave the house and not have to deal with her step family again.

Now, you're probably wondering why this isn't my number 1 movie after naming all good things about it. The reason I put this one as number 10 is because this is a movie I grew out of. As a kid I loved watching and loved the story line but as I got older I realised that this movie is all about how the princed saved her and that she would've never gotten out of her situation if it weren't for him. I also feel it was a very rushed ending. Immediately after she fits into the shoe they are getting married and living in the castle together.

In conclusion, this is definitely a movie I still love watching to this day. It always makes me happy watching her proving her family wrong and showing them that they aren't better than her in any way. However, based on the times this movie reflects and the super rushed ending this movie isn't too high up on the list but is still a disney classic.
