It might be cliche but when the character who surpresses their power lets it show to the overly smug enemy right before ending them, that's just good. I always see it coming, and I like it every time.
One trope in media that bugs me is when there's a friend group, and one is struggling. Like, "had to skip meals to save money" kind of thing. Meanwhile another is so rich that when asked how much money they have its just "yes". And nobody ever sees any issue with that. Like just help them out.
This goes double for video games where a character is broke and you, the player, have just stupid amounts of cash. But it never gives you the option to help them.
AITA for trying to make some new friends?
So, I (Time isn't real, lets say F), am not human. I used to have friends like me but we had a falling out. I stayed behind at our old place, and turned it into an entertainment center for humans, cause I just think you guys are super neat. Capable of creating all kinds of stuff and original stories and things.
So I made my home into a special pier with like, rides and haunted houses and stuff. So humans would visit. I got really lonely though. But then some humans did visit. It was great! Humans are cool, but you're very Limited. So I decided to take a few humans and just, unfold them. So we could be better friends.
The thing is they weren't quite, the same after that. Not human anymore. So I tucked them away to serve as power sources. Eventually they acted up though around the time other humans showed up. I made sure to disguise myself as human so they'd be more comfortable.
The others asked if I was this a certain creature and I said I didn't know, and asked for their help making the new power sources act properly. Turns out the the creature they asked about Is what I am but I didn't know the word they used for us. They called me a liar, And they were mad about me unfolding people.
There was a fight, and I lost. They told me that I couldn't do that anymore. I promised I'd stop if they kept coming back to be my friends and they agreed.
Now, I was just trying to help some humans be more, cause I liked them. But they stopped being human, or sentient at all, and the others were mad about it. I just wanted to make them my friends. So AITA? I think they're overreacting.
Maybe this is the wrong platform to pose this question given the average tumblr user but
Is it just me or did our generation (those of is who are currently 20-30 ish) just not get the opportunity to be young in the 'standard' sense?
Like, everyone I talk to who's over 40 has all their wild stories about their teens and 20s, being young and dumb, and then I talk to my friends and coworkers and classmates, and we just... dont.
