The birdlike nature of Cloudjumper required us to rethink our approach to dragon scales. The decision was made to grow individual scales that flex, expand, and contact - much like feathers - creating a truly unique and majestic creature.
This undertaking required the precise collaboration of many departments. Although Cloudjumper is comprised of hard and scaly materials, there is a softness and gracefulness to his appeal

Cloudjumper dipped his head to the happy, little welp. It was a successful shot, and more success was to come for the baby Skrill. Practice made perfect, so the dragon gave another gurgle of encouragment for the baby to strike him again. This time he lowered his head to the welp's level, and hissed halfheartedly to let the other know he wanted him to hit harder.
>Juniper stumbled back to his feet, and shook off the fall. He was a sturdy little thing, and very determined. He gave a little roar, though it was more of a squeal, took a few brave steps back and charged again. He did succeed this time, butting his head ever so delicately against the Stormcutter’s foot. Then he let out a triumphant squeal, his tail wagging proudly. But of course he stared up to him for approval, trilling and chirping happily as his body trembled and wiggled.

Yes, this ice nest was an amazing feat. The Bewilderbeast was capable of miracles, and the impossible. Pride swelled inside the Stormcutter's chest; how lucky he felt to be his Second.
"Yes, the King of Dragons." Cloudjumper confirmed, "... You mean the Red Death? My King wanted nothing to do with her nest- Rumor has it that she has passed, is this true?" The Red Death's nest was farther North from the ice mountain, and word rarely reached here about her whereabouts.
Clack stared at the structure once more, eyes wide with wonder. His jaw dropped slightly and he gave his head a small shake. It was several seconds before he returned his gaze to the other dragon.
"One dragon built this entire nest…" he said to himself, marveling over the fact. "Incredible." What sort of dragon is large enough to have built such a nest all on his own? "You say the King of Dragons built this? I thought there was only the queen who lived at Dragon Island." He still remembered the massive and cruel dragon that the human boy had defeated many years ago.

Cloudjumper puffed out his chest, and head-crests, to show more of his size; even his wings expanded slightly. "It was to my knowledge birds don't speak." He huffed, not offended by the birds words in the slightest. "From all of your kind I've eaten, they've had brains smaller than pebble. I suspect yours is the same."
His wings outstretched to full size, in case the feathered beast tried anything at his last comment. "As for different languages, I assumed that growls, and the common hiss, held the same meaning."
The Helmaroc King raises his head and stands tall as he was addressed by the dragon. So, it seemed like this lizard was capable of speech after all.
"It stands to reason I wouldn’t speak to you in the language of my own species." He stands tall, looking down at the dragon before him. "You would no doubt have no idea what I was saying. And yet, this language is more commonly known. It only makes sense to try and communicate with a lesser being through a common language.”

Berk... The name sounded familiar. He recalled his companion, Valka, talking about a place named that.
"Where is this Berk?" The dragon inquired.
"We came from Berk." Alox explained and Vapor nodded.

(Viking-in-training) "Don't touch me, stupid dragon! Go away before I do something I won't regret!"
Please, a small viking like this harm him? The large Stormcutter growled in amusement at the human.
