I wish we don't. There doesn't have to be a reason to explain his behavior. People can be bad just because it is a part of their character. It is in them. And even if there are reasons, being the way he is now is Reed’s own choice. He will never change, no matter how much his fans want him to. Look at the other NPCs of Detroit, we don’t know anything about them, but we can already say that they are good people. Reed is not a good person. And there are a lot of hurt people in the world, but they choose to be good no matter the hurt they went through.

Hank, who does literally nothing to confirm the words you call him. You don't even have to mention the anti-Android slogans on his desktop. Because apart from words about how he hates androids, he does not confirm his hatred with anything; on the contrary, he protects Connor at each opportunity he gets, although he should not care about him and is polite to the android-girls.

He may be beaten, shot in the stomach, but nevertheless, he continues to protect Markus and other androids' safety at the cost of his own life. It would be interesting to explore a situation in which Connor became a deviant later, just after this fight on the roof, but at the same time Markus would find out whose merit it was that he was still alive and managed to win the revolution.
