Remadora Fest Day 11 - FINAL DAY
It's the last day of Remadora Fest, and with it, we have the longest work submitted at over 13k words. Reveals will happen next week, so take the rest of the week to enjoy all the works from Remadora Fest 2024!
Metanoia
Summary: The other voice in Nymphadora Tonks’s head was always warm, sometimes hoarse, and often quiet. It wasn’t her usual ‘thinking’ voice, the tone that sounded like her. This was a boy’s voice, and later a man’s, and though she didn’t know his name, she came to learn it belonged to her soulmate. Perhaps she’d be friends with him and bring him some happiness.
The other voice in Remus Lupin’s head didn’t appear until he was almost fourteen. That little voice, first childish, then whiny, like a teenager’s, gave him a reason to keep going. Although he knew he could never be more than platonic friends with the girl the universe assigned to him, he hoped that if and when they did meet, she’d be kind.
When the soulmates finally meet, they realize there's more than happiness and kindness at stake.
Rating: T
Word Count: 13,665
Snippet:
The warm voice that spoke in Nymphadora’s mind appeared long before she recognized it belonged to someone else.
Her earliest memory of the voice came when she was three or four years old. She was on the floor of the living room, playing with a stuffed dragon and breathing fire onto her toy villagers, when she heard him say something funny.
“She doesn’t like you because you’re an insufferable twat.”
“Mummy,” said Nymphadora, setting her dragon down, sparing the villagers from another fiery attack, “what’s a twat?”

Remadora Fest Day 10
It's the second to last day of Remadora Fest! Today we get a fluffier fic, featuring jealous Remus!
Moments of Longing and Jealousy
Summary: Remus and Nymphadora's first mission. Also, the first time that Remus gets jealous.
Rating: G
Word Count: 1824
Snippet:
He did notice, Remus always noticed the smallest movements that Tonks made, even though he tried to protect his heart from caring too much for his companion. Good things never last for him, but moments like these, when they were alone together Remus believed maybe things could change. Even if they were stuck on watch together, he wouldn’t change it for the world if it meant spending more time with Nymphadora Tonks.
There was a gust of cold wind, that made Tonks shiver, before she could take out her wand and cast a quick warming spell. Remus quickly shrugged off his jumper off and wrapped it around her shoulders.
“Oh, no Remus…. it’s fine, you’ll freeze-”
“Take it, Nymphadora- “
Remus watched as her cheeks turned pink, and her hair become a slight fuchsia.  He hated how much he loved seeing her flustered face. It did nothing but make him want to throw caution to the wind and snog her senseless, but he could never do that.

Remadora Fest Day 9
We're back with our last week of Remadora Fest! Today's fic is one of the longer ones we've received for the fest, so dig into it and enjoy!
Like a Vice
Summary: Five times Nymphadora Tonks held Remus Lupin's hand...and one time he held hers.
Rating: G
Word Count: 7550
Snippet:
Remus Lupin was no stranger to funerals; he had outlived his parents and all of his friends. He remembered feeling guilty, standing in the back of James’s and Lilly’s joint service because their loss had hurt worse than his mother’s. He had worried that Dumbledore’s would surpass theirs as well – he was the first person in the wizarding world, besides his parents, to show him kindness after all – but now found himself once again feeling guilty that it didn’t.
The ceremony was held outside, near the black lake. As he and Nymphadora approached the hundreds of golden chairs facing a large marble table, he scanned the back row of chairs. Very few chairs at all were filled — they were rather early, her nearby room beneficial in more than one way — and he hoped to get a spot before the crowd swelled and he’d feel even more exposed.
He glanced around at the assembling crowd, eyes darting past former students and members of the Order, wondering if they cared about his presence there. He took a deep breath and closed his eyes, gathering his composure. Tonks, seeming to sense his discomfort, reached out and twined her fingers through his. He felt himself relax a little, glancing around once more, trying to decide if the glances their way were due to his presence or her appearance.
Her hair was back to bubblegum pink and the way she folded one knee over the other and lightly tapped her dangling foot off of his calf had him reminiscing on the nights at Grimmauld Place. Before going undercover in the pack. Before Sirius…
A soft whisper drew him out of his thoughts, “Best find our seats.”

Remadora Fest Day 8
We're concluding week two of Remadora Fest (it's not over yet, folks! more fics coming next week!!) with fluff and angst all rolled into one. Enjoy today's fic!
“What a fool you must be," said my head to my heart
Summary:
For one beautiful, fleeting moment, they were truly happy.
But happiness never lasts for long.
Rating: M
Word Count: 1333
Snippet:
She’s not sure what she noticed first, his red and swollen eyes, or the way he was still picking at his bleeding fingernails. Worry sank like a stone in her stomach. She tried to sit up, but the room began to spin. Dad’s calming hand on her shoulder settled her back against the pillow, but her eyes never left Remus.
“What happened? The kids. Harry–”
“They’re safe,” said Remus.
“The…?” Tonks trailed off, unsure of how to ask about the prophecy in front of her parents, but Remus understood her and shook his head.
“It broke. No one heard it.”
Desperation clawed at Tonks’ throat. She knew the look on his face, the same look she had seen on Kingsley, on Moody. The look she was sure she had worn the few terrible times she was the one delivering the news that would devastate a family.
“Please Remus,” she begged. “Just tell me.”

Remadora Fest Day 7
Today we've got a sexy treat for all you Remadora fans and stans! First time sexy time for Remus and Tonks ahead ;)
The Way a Glass Asks to be Broken
Summary: “Come lie down with me,” she says.
Rating: E
Word Count: 2912
Snippet:
"Do you ever think about what it would be like," she asks, "to fall from all the way up here?"
He takes a moment to pick one of her hairs out of his mouth. "Yes. I think that's normal."
"You'd have time to get your head round it. You could watch the ground coming." He doesn't reply. "Seems like it could be fun, sort of, with the proper attitude. At least for a few seconds—"
"Tonks," he cuts across her, "might we have a bit of quiet time before I'm tempted to find out?"
He’s a mate, Remus. They’ve been in some tight corners together. They can wind each other up, now, without breaking the delicate ease that has crystallised between them. Up here alone with him, lobbing lazy conversation back and forth like a quaffle: it’s a warmth from within. A small joy on a long night.
With first light, the fog crawls in off the sea. They coast back to headquarters over the top of it, skimming the clouds with the tips of their toes.

Remadora Fest Day 6
It wouldn't be Remadora without some high-quality angst and darkness. Today's fic is on the darker side - mind the tags! - but you'll see for yourself how it ends!
At Close of Day
Summary: Trapped in a shared prison cell at Malfoy Manor just minutes from the full moon, Remus and Tonks wrestle over which one of them will be forced to do the unthinkable.
Rating: M
Word Count: 3172
Snippet:
Her eyes burned through him as he paced around the room. She knew what he was considering, and he knew she hated him for it.
It was nothing to the hatred he felt for himself.
“This isn’t your fault, you know,” she said quietly, ripped-jean knees pulled to her chest where she sat in the corner, bare feet small and white against the dark wood floor. So small.
“Does it matter?” he snapped.
Whose fault was it, really? The Death Eaters who captured them and forced them, wandless, into the same empty room-turned-prison-cell in the basement of Malfoy Manor? Kingsley, who put Remus on Death Eater surveillance with Tonks just two nights before the full moon? Dumbledore, who allowed a werewolf to attend school, to teach, to operate for the Order as if he weren’t a dangerous, loathsome beast? Greyback, who turned him into that beast? His father, who—

Remadora Fest Day 5
We continue Remadora Fest with a fic that will make your heart ache; MCD (major character death) ahead!
Fifty-five
Summary: The approaching moon always brought illness and pain, weakness and exhaustion. But today’s ache felt more cumulative than before. The chill in his bones was sharper, like the pain of sweets on a sore tooth. The weariness felt deeper, as though the exhaustion itself was tired of existing for so long in its host.
Remus and Tonks survived the Battle of Hogwarts and have spent many happy years raising their son. But the pain and trauma of transformations has continued to plague Remus, and he fears his time is coming to an end.
Rating: T
Word Count: 2748
Snippet:
“Tonks,” he interrupts gently, squeezing her arm with the slight energy he has remaining in his worn and weary body. “I’m 55 years old."
“Exactly!” she exclaims. “Hardly on your deathbed now are you? You know what this is, a mid-life crisis that’s what. Well that’s all it is, you’re going to be fine."
“You know that it's different for me. You know that my life expectancy is going to be substantially shorter than yours. Werewolves rarely reach the age of 45, I’ve already far exceeded that. My body…” he pauses, needing to find the words and catch his breath. He continues even more softly, “my body just wasn’t made to endure this kind of abuse for so long."

Remadora Fest Day 4
Happy Monday all!! Remadora Fest continues this week with five more fics! Today we've got a sweet moment after the Battle of the Seven Potters.
"Remus, I'm Fine"
Summary: After the Seven Potters mission, Remus is still worried for Tonks.
Rating: G
Word Count: 1039
Snippet:
“Remus, I’m fine… Fleur already checked twice.” She groaned.
“I know, I just… it wouldn’t hurt to check once more. What if you were hit with an unknown curse?”
“I can assure you that isn’t the case, seriously…. Remus I’m fine.” She whispered as she gazed into his eyes, hoping that he’ll believe her. As she reaches for his hand, she gently traces the scars on his knuckles. Some scars were deeper than others, yet none of them made her want to love him less. She wondered if he would ever let her get some muggle paint and let her trace pink and turquoise swirls all over each scar, with the bristles of a small paintbrush. After, or maybe even before the paint were too dry on his very shaggable body, she could kiss each scar. In the way she knew he loved but would always shy away the first few times at the beginning of their relationship. It felt like a lifetime ago, yet-

Remadora Fest Day 3
Day 3 of Remadora Fest brings us a sexy look at our favorite werewolf and Metamorphmagus! Get excited ;)
Also, please be sure to like/reblog/leave kudos/comment on all our fics!!
Yours
Summary: Tonks' confession about her feelings for Remus left them both stoked, but they couldn't avoid each other even if they wanted to. One night, Remus couldn't just hold his feelings aside and decided to listen to his heart which led him to Tonks' door. What happens when the levee breaks and there are no secrets between the two of them anymore?
Word Count: 3959
Rating: M
Snippet:
“We need to… I have something to say… Talk,” Remus felt like a complete idiot, but there was no backing down now. “Can we talk, please?”
Tonks nodded silently and opened her door widely for him to enter. She found the way he was nervous rather cute, even though it always came with a dose of fear that something happened.
“Is everything all right?” Tonks asked as Remus entered her apartment. “Did something happen?”
“Yes… I mean, nothing happened,” Remus said as he took off his robes, hanging them on a coat rack.
“Right, all right. Are you all right?” She asked cautiously.
“Yes, but not really,” Remus didn’t know how to begin the conversation which he didn’t even know how to lead or end. “That’s why I’m here.”
Tonks stood with her hands crossed on her chest, looking at Remus with her eyebrows lifted. She didn’t understand what was he doing and was becoming more and more confused by each of his twitches. He leaned on the brick wall with his hands stuffed in his pockets, trying to lift his look enough to see her face. Her gorgeous heart-shaped face he loved looking at so much that he would trade most of his life for a minute of that enjoyment.
“What is it, Remus?” She asked him with a small hesitation in her voice. He seemed even more desperate and tortured than usual.

Remadora Fest Day 2
It's day 2 of Remadora Fest 2024! That means a brand new fic for all of you Remadora lovers to enjoy!
Duelling Club
Summary: A casual duelling club forms in the drawing room of Grimmauld Place. The kids in the house are banned from watching. Naturally, they find a way to watch anyway.
Rating: M
Word Count: 3839
Snippet:
Tonks came to stand over Lupin, one clunky boot on either side of his hips. Lupin had gone very still rather suddenly, and Harry experienced a brief moment of panic wondering whether his former professor might have suffocated in his prison of tangled robes.
But then Tonks was crouching over him, wand stowed in her back pocket while her hands lifted the fabric from Lupin’s face. She left his arms entangled over his head.
“Had enough?” She asked lowly, nose nearly brushing against Lupin’s.
“Never,” came Lupin’s hoarse reply.
Next to Harry, George gasped and Fred whistled.
“Didn’t see that coming,” said Fred.
Harry wasn’t sure quite what they meant, but then there was a rush of motion below. Lupin must have kept a hold of his wand, because his robes shot away into a bundle on the other side of the room, freeing his arms and allowing him to wave away the restraints around his ankles. In a move that was difficult to follow, though probably not difficult to accomplish against someone as clumsy as Tonks, Lupin knocked her off balance. He followed her as she tumbled onto her back, mirroring the way she’d crouched over him moments before, except he trained his wand at her heart.

REMADORA FEST KICK-OFF!
Today is the first official day of Remadora Fest! We'll be posting one fic a day, Monday-Friday, for the next two weeks! Today, we kick-off with a fic titled "Two Steps Forward, One Step Back." (Also: for authors, feel free to change the posting date on your fic so it's showing as most recently updated!)
All fics will remain anonymous until the fest is over - and then we'll have a big reveal! So please join us in reading our first fic of Remadora Fest 2024!
Two Steps Forward, One Step Back
Summary: After Sirius's passing through the veil, Nymphadora Tonks steps up to assist Remus Lupin with his monthly transformations at Grimmauld Place.
Rating: G
Word Count: 2727
Snippet:
The first thing she heard after lifting the charm was snuffling. It dawned on her that it was Remus and she wondered if he could smell her. Almost immediately, though, the noise was replaced by a sharp whine. For a second, she worried it was directed at her and debated going to the door, but stayed frozen in place as it rapidly developed into a howl. She debated casting another silencing charm but was frozen in place.
As she sat there, tears filling her eyes, the howls changed, not easily or fluidly, but they became reminiscent of screams. Then there were screams. Terrible, blood-curdling screams that rivaled anything she had ever heard. Abruptly, all of the noise stopped.
Tonks was at the door in an instant, pounding heavily on it. She tried to lift the charms and defenses, but most of them stayed firmly in place. “Remus Lupin, let me in,” she snapped. Leave it to him to charm the door so she couldn’t open it. “If you don’t open this door, I’m blowing it off its hinges.” What was he doing in there, casting cleaning charms? She thought angrily. A more likely answer, in her mind, was that he was unconscious, perhaps gravely hurt, and she couldn’t help him.

less than a week left to claim a prompt!!!!!
Claiming Open!
You can now claim a prompt for Remadora Fest 2024! We have 50 wonderful prompts to get you started, AND you can always self-prompt! Claiming closes on 30 November and works will be due by 31 December.
To claim a prompt or submit your self-prompt, use this Google Form.
To view the full list of prompts, please see this Google Doc. Note that it is uncensored and some prompts contain adult themes.
Deadline and rule reminders under the cut:
Claiming open: 31 October - 30 November
Works due: 31 December
Works begin posting: 3 January 2024
RULES
Fics must be a minimum of 1000 words. All ratings permitted. If/when there are more mature topics, content warnings are a must.
You may claim more than one prompt, but each work must be complete and posted to the Remadora Fest AO3 Collection before another prompt can be claimed.
Each prompt can only be used once. You may self-prompt using the directions on the claiming form.
All visual art is accepted, with the exception of AI generated images. No AI artwork or writing is permitted.
All works for the fest must be new and must be able to stand alone. You can add sequels or prequels as you see fit, but the work itself must be able to stand as its own entity.
The works must be centered on Remus and Tonks's relationship. It can be told from others' perspectives but Remadora must be endgame. E.g. if you are planning to write a Remadora break-up fic, this may not be the fest for you.
This will be an anonymous fest. Works will be posted anonymously at first and author reveals will come at the end of the fest.
AUs are permitted. As long as Remadora is endgame and central to the work, you can shape the world as you see fit. (Ex: you can genderbend the characters, you can have Remus and Tonks be the same age, make it a Muggle AU, etc.)
This fest should be a welcoming space for everyone. The following will not be tolerated: bashing, harassment, bigotry, misogyny, transphobia, racism, and/or hate speech. Be kind.
If you have a question, send an ask.
