Max has always said Daniel is funny, which everyone knows and says too, but only DR has ever said that Max is funny too, despite what others think about Max, and I’d like to believe that it’s because DR just sees it so clearly, that every time they’re together, it’s just pure joy & laughter — and it kills me because this kind of friendship & brotherhood is so, so tender to witness through the years.

Pairing: Romantic Loceit (Janus x Logan)

Summary: The thing about Logan is that he is always prepared. He doesn’t “like” to be, he doesn’t “prefer” to be—he just is.

Which is why, at around 1:20 on a Thursday afternoon in August, Logan doesn’t find it at all strange to remain so calm when three masked men enter the doors to rob the bank.

Notes: A late gift to Rin (@rollthewhatever). They asked for a Loceit fic with “Catch Me If You Can” vibes. I failed miserably. So I wrote this instead.

sometimes I think about daniel saying that seeing max being world champion but being unchanged by it put things into perspective for him about how a world championship isn't the be all and end all and remember the visceral reaction I had when I first heard him say that. like. that's such an insane thing to say, especially considering you can say max is the reason the trajectory of his career changed in the first place. it's a moment that's up there with "if it couldn't be me, I'm glad it's him" for me. the narrative goes so crazy I can't ever be normal about them.
