Yeap, same xD It's so fun to have all these headcannons and lots of additional ideas intervowen everywhere but I don't actually want to spend time writing them into anything coherent myself lol.

Teehehehe, thanks :D At one point I was planning on making it look like an vintage postcard or a photograph with more worn out wrinkles (like it had been folded in half and been kept in a pocket but now there's only that one diagonal wrinkle for aesthetics left lol) and even coffee cup stains or a paperclip in one corner and considered adding some text like it had been made with a label maker or something etc. but alas! it was getting too crowded and the final version works a lot better on it own xD

#for some reason I was thinking about some detective games #like this was an evidence in a case folder #like a missing person from the past or an old identity #or just like how is this man still alive and looking the exact same after all these decades?? #who is this mystery person and what's the secret of the lighthouse lol #or like someone has been looking for him and this is one of the clues #but again wayyyy too much stuff xD

Still thinking about that Vanity Fair photoshoot and all the possible Black Sails lighthouse AUs where Flint is the lighthouse keeper... and gets a visitor(s). But who? dundunduuu... Not sure if this would be a reincarnation au or immortal beings au or ghosts or just a regular modern(ish) au, so feel free to have your own interpretations!

The face ref for this was Lieutenant McGraw when he returns to London in season 2 but I wanted to see Flint with his waxed s1 mustache and the more modern hair and coat (although the decade is not set in stone)... Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

Some wip pics for that old art where The Ranger’s crew buys the Nassau brothel and Vane and Anne take a nap while Jack looks at them fondly :)

It took me a long time to figure out what I really wanted with this idea and how to make it work. The finished art started to make rounds again and it reminded me that I had a wip process somewhere in my drafts and it might be interesting to see (and I think I haven’t shared it yet? I could be wrong but thought that I might as well do it now lol)...

Anyway, the first sketches were made around July 2017  and I let it be alone for months after that. Occasionally I would continue or re-draw whole parts of this but always got stuck with something or lost interest. I finally finished it around spring/summer 2019 with new enthusiasm as I had learned things through my other works and still loved this idea and wanted to see it completed. I still like some of the earlier wips (and even maybe prefer some compositions more) although some parts are quite clumsy.

#black sails doodle #black sails #my wips #I drew jack sitting by that table (and staircase) probably in dozen other poses #but they were bad and I couldn't get his face work AT ALL so I am not going to show them #the earlier drafts were kinda cold so I am happy how warm they ended up in the finished piece #I still like the earlier wips too #they had a nice feel in them although some parts were really clumsy #that balloon snake pffft #I'm not actually sure if it's a boa or a python..? #in hindsight that staricase pose and composition would've actually worked if I had stick to it #it's a bit more peaceful and ''breathes more'' than the finished version by the table #but in any case I think all of these have their own charm and it was a great journey to go thorugh #frustrating and shitty at times but also filled with joy #my only regret is maybe that I should've taken more freedom with the first pic because now many think it's a screenshot at first #also I'm slightly disturbed how it has been two years since I posted it and four since I started it #it doesn't feel that long ago

Anne Bonny (Clara Paget) saving her crew in Black Sails (XXXII).

I have only been able to watch that badass scene like, twice (it’s the hands, I can’t look at her picking up those glass shards and squeezing *shudders*).

Working music was mainly “Eden” by Battle Beast and I like to imagine that if Anne was singing in a metal band her voice would sound something like that... Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

Random portrait of John Silver, acrylics 18x24 cm

Recently I bought some acrylic paints and canvases to brush up (heh) my traditional painting skills since I have been drawing mostly digital art for the last couple of years. I want to have some big paintings on my wall at some point in the future so I decided to practise with small ones first.

And well, I enjoy drawing Silver, so what better subject to start with :D Although this ended up looking like some sort of Jesus painting which is a bit disturbing... and I'm not sure if I should still define some parts or not (like the hair or his jacket) but I'm afraid of ruining it so I'll probably just add some varnish to finish this (and practise spreading that stuff)... Anyway, so I decided to share this one now then. Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

#john silver #my art #black sails #I want a huge door-sized half-abstract painting of a ship sailing on merry waves towards the viewer #and can't do it yet xD #no space not enough paint and time and not enough skill with this medium yet so it might take a couple of years xD #for some reason I have always felt uneasy with acrylics and oil colours and was more familiar with watercolour #(maybe it was the price and the fear of wasting paint...but also not actually having enough paint and proper canvases...and space) #I don't like the canvas pattern here and it showing through so much so I'll try adding gesso and sandpapering it smoother with the next one #I also tried adding some highlights to his hair and even scratching with a blade but my efforts looked bad so I gave up #some proportions were and still are a bit wonky but that's exactly why I need to practise more traditional mediums #and colour use from the get-go instead of playing with settings later #but all in all I'm surprised how well this turned out! :D

omg silverflint madi! i love your art with them so much they’re such an underrated ship in the fandom.

I LOVE THEM and wish we had had more time with them together on the show too, like some levity and them having fun for a change xD (so I'm filling in the gaps hehehehehe). Thanks <3

‘Cause every time we touch I feel the static ~

Silver has trouble collecting his thoughts and stroking his own beard isn’t quite enough stimulation to help... but Flint has such a nice beard, wouldn’t you want to touch it and learn something about proper grooming habits dear ~ So Madi is amused af when her suggestion actually works and Flint will be running high on endorphins until the first mirror lol. And Silver did get his thoughts sorted out  — now he knows what to order for tomorrow’s barbecue!

I found the sketches again and finally finished these ^^; Static electricity probably doesn’t work quite like that but anyway xD Also if (historical) Blackbeard can have fire and smoke beard then Flint can have electric love uh I mean fearsome lightning beard. Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

hi! i was wondering if you'd be willing to make the "hungry" design on your redbubble into a print? it's not an option right now but i'd love to buy it and hang it on my wall!

Hello! And sure, I have now added the print option of it on redbubble and if you don't mind, I made some small fixes here and there that had been bothering me (but I can take the fixes off, if it's important to have them there, like some of the biggest paper wrinkles or wobbly lines, haha).

The original drawing is/was about size A5 and on poor paper and it got quite a rough treatment when I was painting it so I wasn't sure about the quality as a print at the time (so that's why it hadn't been an option there before...). So now I made some adjustments and sharpening in addition to those small fixes (but not too many alterations) so hopefully it works as a print now too, but let me know if there's still something I should do! Thank you for this ask and thanks for the patience! :) <3

Hey that Ned Low study is really cool. It makes him look like pure evil which is why I love him as a villain. All the red perfectly contrasts his very sharp blue eye. Thinking about making it my wallpaper

Thank you! To me, he was probably the scariest and most (purely) evil person in the show. I wanted to catch that threatening aura and painting that art was quite fun and cathartic, too! Yes, you can have it as a wallpaper for as long as you want, I'm glad you like it :D

I was going through my wip folders and realized that hey, this is actually quite finished... so, after some reworking, here you go! Please, do not repost elsewhere :)

#black sails #ned low #edward low #this is from 2018 although I did end up fixing a few things before posting xD #actually quite a lot becuse the draft placeholder is also several months old lol #and I wanted to nickpick some things here and add some dramatics there #the only note about this in the wip folder was that I have a friend whose boyfriend looks exactly like him #well without the eye and long hair #and yeah that guy too gives me chills :( #but I do like the brush work here! #and the changes like the more dramatic light brought some more punch into this #this has a bit same vibes as the vane one I did years ago #I was very tempted to make him hold one of those pet shaming signs #like #I like to ruin perfectly good ships for street cred and lulz
