i don't need more spn to be "good" i need it to be FUN. i need it to resolve the hanging plotlines, i need cas back, i need destiel reunited, i need dean alive. but the rest? whatever! just wanna see them on screen again getting up to shenanigans. bring back as many fan favorites as possible. make it silly. make it fan service. i don't need HBO spn. i don't need serious or highbrow. i just want these characters back and i want them to be HAPPY.

here's my favourite little detail from tmwwbk:
Cas's tie
he normally wears this tie backwards. this episode though, that changes. while cas is working with crowley, his tie flips around, to how a 'proper' tie is tied.
contrasted with the flashbacks in this episode to before these moments, it's an intentional choice to flip it.
then, while cas is spying on the winchesters, his tie is flipped again. Hiding himself and his intentions. It remains this way throughout the scene. Even after he reveals himself to them, the tie is 'forward'. And dean realizes cas is lying to them during this scene.
However, when he chooses to return to them later, his tie is normal. He's trying to show them that he's being honest and himself, but the jig is up. Dean already knows that cas has betrayed them now. Cas cannot hide his intentions from dean, his 'soul' is barred.
Cas' tie is a representation of him, particularly in the earlier seasons. He wears it backwards as a consistent choice. In this episode, we get to see both sides of his life. The double agent. And he's aware of it. He doesn't want to associate his 'normal' self with what he's doing with crowley, and, he doesn't want his friends dean to know what he's up to either, so he attempts to don a different persona in a sense, like it's not really him that's betraying them. It's not his fault. He has to do this. And the fact that its an accident. A moment of instinct to protect his family. His 'real self' flashing through, while he was spying on them, that leads to him giving himself away, shown by having the tie being wrong for that moment. Chef's kiss. So good.
There are no more secrets, so the tie stays normal past this point. But it's a fascinating point to consider: cas can no longer separate his two lives anymore. He's been found out. The only thing he can do is look the man he loves in the eyes, bare his soul to him, and watch as he leaves him trapped.

im so impressed with how natural the conversations around rose’s transness were. so often when shows have a moment of queer rep it can feel like they’re winking at the audience, it can feel placed and self-congratulatory. but that felt like a real conversation a parent would have about their trans child. not perfect but well intentioned which is the most important thing!!
